Fleur's eyes brightened as she spotted the footpath.  "Yes... I see it too." She said, smiling.  She turned and began to walk down the path, the sight of the waterfall breathtaking.  However, at that exact instant, she curled over in pain.  "Mother..." She whispered, feeling something warm in the back of her throat.

Vet looked at her with concern. "Are you alright?" he said, tails twitching anxiously. She appeared to be hurting, and he tried to comfort her. He licked her cheek and nuzzled her, not knowing what else he could do.

Fleur looked up and let out a weak chuckle.  "I-I'm all right now... but my mother had fallen in battle..." She said, standing upright as he nuzzled her.  "A-all of us that bear my mother's blood can feel when she is hurt.  It... it is just a connection we all have." She explained, looking back at the waterfall as she walked down the little path.

Vetinari whined with sympathy. "Had fallen? Does that mean she is still alive or do you not know?" he asked. He followed Fleur down the path, treading carefully so as not to slip. He hoped that his mother was alright... His sister too, even if she got on his nerves.

"She was... she was revived." Fleur said, tilting her head as she thought about it, walking along the path.  When she got around the waterfall, she stepped back to look at it again.  "This place... it's so beautiful... I never want to leave it, as long as I'm alive and able to move as freely as I please..." She said dreamily.

Vetinari stopped beside her, standing close in case she felt weak again. "Yes, it is." he said. "Like you..." he added, nuzzling her. He too looked up at the falls. His own mother had been right about their beauty...

Fleur felt her cheeks blush at Vetinari's compliment.  She had heard about the falls from one of the Kuhnas that had been here, but she hadn't really expected them to turn out as beautiful as she had been told.  "It's all so different now, having someone by your side to share this moment with..." She murmured happily.

Vetinari laid his head on top of Fleur's and murred happily. He was glad that she was happy. It was a whole new experience for him to have someone to love and to be loved by. He felt as if nothing in the whole world could make him feel bad ever again. "Yes... Its very different." he whispered.

Fleur smiled as she looked around the "secret garden" again.  Oh, it was so beautiful, so wondrous... and the lake...!  Fleur had always liked swimming; it was just a part of her nature, what, bearing her mother's famed Ringed markings from her grandfather.

"Hey, have you ever done any swimming before?" She asked, smiling.  She had wanted to go swimming for so long now...

"As a matter of fact, I have. It is one of my favorite hobbies." said Vet. "We have a pond at home, and I go swimming almost every morning." Vetinari had developed a strong muscles from swimming, and he couldn't resist showing off. He padded over to the water and dipped a paw in. "Not cold at all." he said, wading in.

Fleur smiled as Vet stood up, and she followed after him, her eyes glistening.  "Ah, a pond... I wish Lady Fire had something like that back home.  She does not, though." She said.  "So... the only time I get to swim is when I happen to find a lake or pond away from home... but it always seems so wondrous when I find one." She said, sighing as she waded into the water, letting it seep into her fur.

"Water really is an amazing thing... So versatile." Vet mused. He paddled around with long smooth strokes of his legs. He snorted as some water got in his nose. "And it stings when it gets in your nose." he added, a bit peevishly.

Fleur chuckled.  "Indeed." She said, smiling.  "Water is the one element in which one can be... truly free in.  On Earth, you are limited to walking.  In the air... well, we can't fly... and fire just burns." She said, sighing dreamily.  "I don't know why I love water so much; I just do..." She said, sighing happily again.
