It was cold at this time of the year, yet the falls of Idalani had so much water and rushed so quickly that they were not frozen over. Only parts of the lakes in which the thundering falls crashed were covered in ice, but no one was daring enough to think that it would be thick enough to hold a person.

Despite the cold, there were still quite a few couples around, looking at the beauty the waterfalls and the shining snow created. Most were probably lovers, spending time with their significant others in the romantic surroundings. There was, however, one couple that was very different. Thanks to being Spiritbond-partners, one could maybe say that they were the 'significant other' of each other, but at least one of them was hardly a romantic.

"Ashur, what the fuck are we doing here?" Hakai glanced around. "It's still cold as hell, the waterfalls don't make it any better and there's really nothing interesting here, unless you want me to drown you or something. We can talk about that."

Ashur sighed, knowing fully well Hakai didn't mean any of his threats, for he would die along with Ashur, but it was rather sad that the beauty of nature was so lost on the Lucain. "I think this place is wonderful in its own way and there is no other in Evelon quite like it. The falls are so beautiful, especially together with the snow. I really had enough of Wilt'No and the death it brings. This is a place for couples, for love and for peace. I had hoped you would find the change refreshing as well."

Hakai looked at Ashur as if the Seraphent had gone insane. "Couples and love!? What the fuck, Ashur? What the hell gave you the idea that I would like such shit? What are we supposed to do here? It's not like I love that snakey ass of yours or anything! Ugh, don't give me such images or I'll barf!"

"Hm." Ashur chuckled. "No, I suppose I should have guessed that you wouldn't understand the aura of this place. Well, shall we still look around a bit, since we're here already? Maybe someone is in need of healing, given the cold weather. I would enjoy helping couples to spend the holidays in good health." Without waiting, Ashur slowly made his way more towards the waterfalls and the surrounding areas where more people were found. Hakai grumbled something, but had no choice but to follow. Couples, ugh! Hopefully would no one get the wrong idea about Ashur and him, given that they were stuck together and all.

[Kylo]

Kadaj walked into the falls and sneered at the couples there. "What a bunch of freaks! Why the hell would anyone want to suck faces like that!? They're pathetic! Right Miss Kitty?" The little doom kitty looked down at Kadaj from her pech on top of his head and purred. Kadaj smiled and nodded. "See? You agree with me so they must be pathetic!"

He continued along his way when he saw the oddest couple ever. A lucain with a serraphant. "What the fuck kind of pairing is that? How would that even work." He shudder at the thought and decided to be cruel. He sat back and formed a snowball at threw at them. "Take that you fucking freaks!" He cackled and threw some more. Miss kitty purred more seeing to approve of her master's cruelty.

[Shieba]

Hakai had good hearing and also trained reflexes, so he managed to dodge the snowball with ease. It hit Ashur's wing, who, rather unbothered thanks to his thick feathers, quickly shook it out and turned around. He didn't mind people playing around like that, but Hakai was easily provoked. And indeed, the Lucain was marching straight at the pet who had thrown the snowball.

"Who are you calling a freak, you punk?!" the Lucain hissed. "If you're looking for a beatdown, you can have that by just asking, you know?"

"Now, now, Hakai", Ashur tried to intervene. His magical senses picked up some hostility from the unusually colored pet - dear goodness, another one like Hakai? That couldn't end well. "Have we upset you in some way?" the Seraphent tried, hoping to resolve whatever had sparked this conflict peacefully.

[Kylo]

Kadaj sneered at the lucain and his pet joined him in the sneer as well. "Well come on then freak! Just you try and hurt me!" He cackled and let his pet leap off his head before extending his considerable claws. He was about to strike when the serraphat got in his way. He growled lowly at it. "Yeah you have! Your very existance upsets me!"

[Shieba]

Hakai grinned; a grimace of dark amusement. "Oh, I'll have my fun with you!" He bared his fangs, ready to strike.

"Hakai, we're leaving", Ashur then announced simply, turning and slowly making his way towards the falls. "This person is obviously nothing short of unreasonable and looking for trouble for the very fun of it."

"What?! Hey, wait!" Hakai turned around to see Ashur indeed not stopping. "That's why he deserves every bone in his body broken, so move your non-existing, fat ass back here!"

"Oh?" Amusement in his voice, Ashur halted and looked at Hakai. "So he deserves punishment for just having fun hurting and insulting others? Hmm." He laughed lightly. "You have come far, Hakai. You make me so very happy."

"I--what?" Hakai stared. "What the fuck, Ashur?!"

"Was this not what you did before we met? Just travelling around, looking to bring pain and death to as many people as possible, just because it amused you? And now you see the injustice in it so clearly. That, truly, is a remarkable progress. The gold in your fur doesn't come from nothing, after all. Come now, Hakai. Leave this person, who is so much like your past self, behind. I don't want you killing him and then having to end up with another Spiritbond-partner." Ashur, humming softly to himself and clearly in a good mood, continued on his way.

"Damn it, Ashur!" Hakai felt a faint hurt on his chest as the Seraphent moved away from him, but that disturbed him less than Ashur's words. "You're lucky today, kid. If I had my way, you'd be dead now. I hope you won't be that lucky the next time." Hakai growled at the Concept pet once more and then turned around, slowly walking after Ashur.

"What the hell!? No one walks away from me!" Kadaj ran after the lucain and serraphant. "What's wrong with you, huh? A second ago you were going to kick my ass! What gives you fucking freak!?" He got in front of them and bristled. "You think I'm just too weak don't you!? I'll prove you wrong! I may be little but I'm strong!!" He growled and raised his hackles. "Come on just try and beat me! You pathetic beings can never beat me! Never!" He cackled again as his pet played about in the snow seeming to ignore it's master's insanity for the moment.

[Shieba]

Ashur just ignored the Concept pet for now as long as he was just talk. Hakai was coming along, that was good. He waited briefly until Hakai had caught up with him to ease the Spiritbond-strain on the Lucain completely, but otherwise just continued on his way to see the falls better and enjoy the day.

Hakai walked on as well, but looked over his shoulder at the annoying other pet. "Believe me, I fully agree with you - you are nothing but a show-off in my eyes. But if Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes there says it's time to go, I can't disagree." He snorted, displeased. "Fucking spell binding me to him and all that crap. Just be happy it's your lucky day and find someone else to bother because really, I can kill people while walking, too. It would make a nice challenge."

"Now, now, Hakai. Let's just enjoy the view together and ignore him, shall we? Blood looks so ugly on pure snow." Ashur sighed. "Though I am happy to see you don't jump at the opportunity to attack him, even with him coming after us."

"Fuck, I want to, now, just to stop making you happy, you ass", Hakai growled. "But I know I'd just run against one of your stupid magic force fields, so I don't even try."

"Smart choice", Ashur hummed.

[Kylo]

Now Kadaj was really mad as they continued to act like he was nothing. Didn't they know who he was? He was the Kadaj. The miniature nightmare from Gaia! How dare they act as if he was nothing more than a nuisance. "That's it!" He changed into his human form and summoned his double bladed katana Souba. "I've had enough of being ignored! Now fight me!" Without warning he zipped forward and slashed low at Hakai. "Now you'll have to notice me!!"

[Shieba]

Hakai saw the attack coming, though the formshifting surprised him. The blade only scratched him, but still left a bloody smear on his left flank. He hissed, more in anger than in actual pain, and regained his footing. "That's it! You're going down!" He charged at the now human-looking pet - and smacked right against an invisible field.

"No." Ashur carefully, but without allowing Hakai to escape, curled his long tail around the Lucain to hold him in place and then gently touched the wound, closing it. "I will not allow that, Hakai. Not here. This is a place of peace and also a place where families come to. There might be children around, playing in the snow, so I will not tolerate bloodshed, no matter how much I would approve of you teaching this criminal a lesson." He raised his head again, looking at the attacker. "You, creature with a dark soul. I pity you, who is so blind to life that even attacking strangers for fun brings enjoyment. Be grateful that I spoke my spell and do not try to break the field - just leave this place of peace, for it is obviously not a place for you. There is no way you could beat the two of us anyway; I have served in many battles and can heal a hundred wounds without rest. You would not stand a chance against Hakai anyway and even less with me backing him up."

Hakai struggled against Ashur's weird embrace, having trouble to speak with the snake-tail wrapped so closely around him. He just wanted to kill that punk right now, but of course Ashur had to get his way. There was nothing he could do to break the magic field of the Seraphent anyway, but at least he wanted to get out of this position because really, if there were so many couples hanging out here, they might get the wrong idea and that would be just...ugh.

[Kylo]

Kadaj screeched angrily at having his fun stolen from him. "You witch! How dare you judge me! I who was born from a goddess above all others! I was created to bring pain and death!" He slashed his sword angrily and growled. He did not like this, not one bit. Never before had someone just allowed him to harm someone and not fought back. It was unheard of. "Why aren't you fighting me!?" He began to pace back and forth much like a caged animal and muttered to himself.

[Shieba]

Hakai looked up at Ashur, which allowed him to speak again, though a look pretty much already conveyed his message. "That guy is totally nuts", he simply stated, not caring if the crazy guy heard him or not.

"It appears so", Ashur agreed, though more quietly and then watched the nervously pacing creature. "I do not allow fighting because there is no reason for it", he answered the man's question. "You attacked without provocation and while Hakai here once liked to do so as well, cruelty alone is not a valid reason to harm, injure or kill others. Killing is always bad, even in war, when there is seemingly a 'cause', but doing it for no reason at all is nothing but wrong. One should never harm someone else, for for every person that dies, someone will shed tears."

"Blah, blah." Hakai surely wasn't a fan of Ashur's philosophical talk, but he also didn't like fighting guys so wrong in the head that they assumed to be created by some goddess without having a choice what to do with their life. He liked fights for the challenges, but that guy was no challenge if he was batshit insane because insane people didn't fight well. "Can just let me fucking go, you big idiot? It's not like I can do much with your goddamn field."

"I just like making sure you're fine~" Ashur hummed.

Hakai hissed and used his claws to drive Ashur into unwrapping him, though he didn't injure the Seraphent. "Sometimes I really think you're some perverted creep", he commented and then, now being able to freely see again, looked at his wannabe-opponent. "So Ashur, what shall it be? If I don't knock him out, he'll kill someone else."

"Indeed..." Ashur sighed. "There are children here, too. How bothersome." The Seraphent frowned behind his mask. "You, dark soul! I ask you again! Why did you attack us?" If he had any clue what had set the man off, he could maybe get some idea how much grasp on himself the guy had.

[Kylo]

"Why? Maybe because I'm having a bad day, maybe because you look strange, or maybe because you merely exist." He cackled more quietly and a bit nervously this time. To tell the truth Kadaj had no idea why he had attacked them, he just had. It was second nature to him to lash out at everything, and the only reason he had not already left a trail of bodies in his wake was because his brothers had been then to convince him to find fun elsewhere.

They were not here now and that left Kadaj all alone to his own devises. His older brothers had always been his voice of reason and had kept him out of trouble for soo long, but now that he wasn't there Kadaj was lost. Yes he was as lost as his true name implied. Lost soul. That was what he was. A lost Soul that was a remnant of a time long past.

"Gah! I want them here! Why are they never here when I need them!?" He screamed and crumbled to his knees and sobbed. He could not pretend anymore. He was scared and alone, and that was why he lashed out.

[Shieba]

"Well, you called us 'freaks'..." Ashur sighed. This was hardly a reason at all and really, that guy seemingly was just malevolent. He had no idea what had driven this creature to the point he was at now, though it probably wasn't something pretty. This wasn't what Hakai had done earlier - Hakai had killed for fun and thrill. The man before them now just attacked because...they existed? What kind of reasoning was that. "We're not especially noteworthy", Ashur commented more to himself than to the others. "Seraphents are rare, yes, but..."

"Are you dumb or deaf? He just said already he just attacks us because we fucking live", Hakai growled. He didn't like sitting around and overthinking things. "So what do we do?"

"I'm trying to figure that out", Ashur replied absentmindly. "Look, he basically says he has no reason to attack. But no one ever does anything without a reason and if it's just instinct. We obviously didn't seem like a threat to him, so it was not self-defense. We're also two, so we're bad prey and the fight was unfair from the beginning, yet it didn't stop him. So he must have some kind of hate inside of him that we triggered, even without him maybe consciously knowing."

"Dude, this isn't psychology class. Let's just knock him out and drop him in the water or something." Hakai circled the force field that was still up. "Come on!"

And then that guy totally broke down in front of them and started crying. Hakai and Ashur both stared at him for a second, then Hakai sighed. "Nuts. Totally nuts."

Ashur's first instinct was to reach out to the poor creature who was obviously...alone? Yet he refused to lower his field and endanger himself and Hakai. "He seems to be really unstable", the Seraphent commented, unsure what to do. He was a healer, but not one for the soul, but only for the body.

"Come on, you dumbass! We know what's wrong with him - he wants to beat us up and doesn't get why we're hiding here - which sucks, by the way - so he's obviously crying for his Mommy and Daddy to help him tearing your magic field down and help him to even out the chances." Hakai snorted. "Any magic in him for teleporting spells?"

"I can't say from behind the field, really", Ashur replied. "But I agree that this is dangerous and I don't want to suddenly have three or more enemies. We need to figure out what triggers him. I repeat, he called us 'freaks', so he obviously had some reason why he attacked us and not others - after all, there's no trail of bodies here yet. Something set him off. So why are we freaks?"

Hakai groaned and sat down. This could take some time if Ashur was trying to solve it like that. So why not making it shorter and more direct and just ask the guy? "Hey, dumbass", he called towards the crying man. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Did you fall on your head as a child or something?" He snorted, having no compassion with this guy, no matter how much of a breakdown the other was having now. Hakai didn't deal well with people who attacked him. "Because really, you--" He stopped when suddenly, Ashur's tail wrapped itself around his legs and the Seraphent drew nearer. "What the fuck are you doing?!"

"Testing what set him off", Ashur hummed and nuzzled Hakai carefully. "This is a place for couples, so I'm testing out racism for couples of different races or hate towards homosexuality."

"What! The! Fuck! Let me go! We aren't a couple!" Hakai screeched. "Stop the fuck touching me, you creep!" He struggled, but had no chance to escape the strong tail of the much larger Seraphent. "You are so sick in the head, you bastard!"

"You are actually really soft~", Ashur commented rather cheerfully sounding and didn't let go a single bit, though he made sure not to hurt the struggling Lucain. However, he was only watching the man in front of them (though it was kinda cute to tease Hakai like that. The Lucain had too many predjudices, too).

[Kylo]

"Shut up!!" He didn't understand what the two were blathering on about and it was confusing him. "You shut up about Mother! Just, just shut up!" He sniffed and pounded the ground with his fists like a five year old throwing a tantrum.

"I don't care about you anymore! I just want my brothers back!" He cried more and whined pitifully. "I don't want to fight anymore, I want to go home!" His pet ran over to him and leaped up into his lap to comfort him.

[Shieba]

Hakai snorted. "The guy has family problems and goes around killing people because of it! That's the dumbest reason I've ever heard!"

Ashur sighed. "A lot of children exposed to violence turn out violent as well." He watched the young man hitting the ground with his fists. "He is much like a child, actually. Just as destructive and just as lost. Maybe we should look for his brothers? They might be around?"

"Am I the local orphanage or what? Even if he's a retard, I don't do charity work. But hey, he said he doesn't care about us anymore and wants to go home instead of fighting. Do we let him? Or do we take our wannabe-child and give him a spanking?" Hakai was still unimpressed by the behavior of the man.

Ashur chuckled. "So he's our child now? I thought you weren't the local orphanage", he teased. "But let's see what he does..." He carefully lowered the magic field, ready to bring it up again at any time. "Force field is down", he announced loud enough that the weeping man would hear it. The guy now had his pet on his lap, too, and Ashur doubted he'd just jump up and make the little cat fly through the air as a result, so he figured he should dare it.

"Good. So can you now please take your fucking tail off of me and give me my personal space back before I beat you up, you fuck?!" Hakai hissed. "Get off of me, now!"

"Hmm~" Ashur slowly removed his tail, but not without brushing it against Hakai as much as he could. "You are too tense. Relax. I have this under control."

"I'm tense because I get the idea you'll fucking jump me in my sleep, you creep", Hakai growled, but pushed the issue aside for the moment and instead fell into a battlestance. He wouldn't let the guy surprise him again if the nuthead decided to attack once more.
