Often called the 'Lover's Triangle' for the trio of waterfalls feeding in to a triangular gorge, the Idalani area is a picture-perfect place to spend time with that special someone, with a beautiful exotic backdrop and countless rainbows dancing across the sky. (+2 Speed)

Return to Idalani Waterfalls

The Travels of a Fish {done}

Kizzai {52}

A little figure splashed in the shallows at the top of the falls. Sleek and small in build and oh so shiny! By the amount of jumping and splashing and giggling, one could tell this creature was the enthusiastic type. By the giggling alone, one could tell this creature was female. What one could not tell from afar, though, was what this creature was up to exactly.

Mom said to stay away from strangers. While her reason is fair, some strangers turn out to be great friends...

The little kuni darted about in the weakest part of the current. Every now and again, she would venture into a slightly stronger flow of water and swim against the current. One would think she was nuts while another would think her a genius. Kizzai thought this was a brilliant idea, at least for any creature born to swim.
"What is she thinking" you ask? She's in training! For what, who knows. She obviously thinks nothing is wrong with setting a goal and trying to stay in shape. With all of these contests that pop up here and there, it doesn't hurt at all. Not one bit.

Kizzai {53}

"I hope Miss Speranza and Mr. Ikaru are ok after that prank I pulled on them!" The kuni giggled to herself as she remembered the sequence of events.

She'd been at the top of the waterfall doing pretty much the same thing she is now. She only heard their voices but knew it was them. She then decided on pulling the most mischievous prank she had ever done...scaring Ikaru and his mate. Knowing Ikaru and a bit about his past made her endeavor all the more ridiculous. But being an enthusiastic and almost fearless kuni, the idea struck her as marvelous.

She gathered up herself and leaped into the strongest current of the river. Soon as she did so she was already over the cliff. Free falling with the water and resisting the urge to let out a "WOOHOOO!!" That would have blown her cover. She landed with a splash no different from the water tumbling into itself. She had sneaked past the splashing lovers and flopped into the dining area. She had quickly convinced the kitchen staff into agreeing with her plan and had them serve her to the pair under a ceramic cover. The platter was nicely decorated with greens and such. She even gone as far as to have one of the cooks draw fake grill marks on her sides. She only hoped the couple wouldn't take long. After all, she was a kuni out of water.

The looks on the couple's faces were priceless. They were just about to dig in when she opened her eyes and said hi. Poor Speranza fainted and Ikaru was about to curse at the waiter. Instead, he gathered his head and stared at the kuni for a moment before laughing. He went to Speranza's side and commended Kizzai on a prank well done. It was only moments before Speranza awakened  and was informed by her mate about the plot. They all laughed and took Kizzai to the water.

In remembrance of that wonderful scheme, the kuni giggled to herself once again before heading up river. Swimming against the current, even in the shallows, was a tiring task but she had been doing this for some time and was starting to get used to it. Every few days she could feel her strength growing. Who know? Maybe one day she'd actually swim up the waterfalls. At this she smiled and giggled some more.

Kizzai {54}

She was on her way, but she was getting tired. The tiny kuni, at that moment, changed her mind. She didn't want to be tired before she started her journey across the ocean to Lambastia. She made up her mind and turned around, swimming with the current. She moved into the much faster waters at the deep center of the river.

Shifting her tail left and right and opening her fins wide, Kizzai kept herself steady in the fast-moving water. She narrowly avoided being smashed into rocks ever so often. This was an exhilarating experience for her. Ever so often there was an obstacle too large to simply swim around. For these, she leapt out of the water and over the obstruction. Landing was terrible each time but she'd manage to right herself long before the next problem. She hadn't realized just how far she made it up stream until now. Her recollection of her prank had kept her preoccupied which, in turn, hid the lapse of time she'd taken to get where she was.

Kizzai {55}

The rocks were getting smaller and the water seemingly faster. Kizzai was nearing the end of this speedy journey. She took a quick moment to get ready for the dive. Suddenly she was launched out of the water, only to have it pour down on her. She angled herself, flipping head over tail twice before...

She'd shot through the air and into to pools below. She narrowly avoided some large under-water boulders. She propelled herself downstream. She was leaving Idalani and wasn't sure where she could go.  Certainly not a plain or desert. At least, not by herself. She decided to head home for a while and see if anyone was up for an adventure. She smiled to herself as she planned a way to convince someone to take her placed she wouldn't be able to visit alone. Maybe they could gain something out of it too.
