"Your wontons should be ready in about three minutes," the clerk said, smiling as she walked to the back.  Aila smiled as she bowed her head to the clerk, and Ekal chuckled.

"She always asks me if I want anything.  When will she understand that I don't like the food?" he asked.

"It's a thing with Oriental people, Ekal..." Aila said, sighing.

"How so?" Ekal asked, tilting his head slightly.

"It's more of a respect thing," Aila explained.  "It's also common courtesy, too: they expect everyone to partake of their food."

"Then maybe I should just wait outside next time," Ekal said, laughing.

"Your wontons, Lady Aila," the clerk said, bringing the box out.
