Her plans had failed, she had failed... she was so close to claiming Canterlot and all of Equestria as her own, but all of that had been dashed away no thanks to that... that... Twilight Sparkle being so over-protective of her brother. It really had gone all back to her being at fault, she just should have dealt with her sooner in a much much different way than she had. If that happened, she would have been gone, would never have found the real Princess, and she would have been the rightful ruler.
Sadly this didn't happen, she had found the real Cadance and thwarted her grand plans in turn banishing her back to the badlands with the rest of her subjects. Despite being badly injured, Chrysalis was able to pick herself back up determined to try again, but calculate her plans much more thoroughly this time. Since then she had been wandering the badlands so deep in thought that she didn't notice falling into a strange vortex that may or may not have just appeared below her.
It didn't take her long to return to consciousness after the fall. Chrysalis quickly stood back up and shook her head, realizing now that it was best just to stay in her own quarters instead of wandering about so much. She looked around examining the area carefully, green... rainbows... waterfalls? Just where was she? This didn't look like the badlands at all, or even really a part of Equestria. Also... something was off about her. Quickly she darted towards one of the pools and looked into it, both shocked and annoyed with what she saw.
She was a dragon now!? What kind of cruel fate was this!? Chrysalis growled looking over her new reflection in the water... well... it wasn't too bad looking. She still kept her grace and femininity right? She... could live with this for now, until she found a way back home that was. Despite her new appearance, it still didn't explain where she was now, but she knew she needed to return home. She had a kingdom of her own to run! Would her subjects be fine without her for awhile?
