((Is it OK if I elaborate a little on the nature of the message? I hope so.))
Odhran going to see Fei was nothing that unusual. What was unusual was the fact that Ailbhe had been invited to come along, too. It was a special Valentine's Day at the falls--one where the blessings of the heavens were supposed to fall on couples who convened at the falls. But in addition to his own invitation, Ailbhe had received her own letter. Not very elaborate. A little bit mysterious. A quiet invitation to meet at the falls.
"Looks like I got me a
mystery admirer," she said with a chuckle. "Aww, I can't leave the poor feller 'angin'. Let me catch a ride wit'cha, will ya, Owe? Let's see what dis is about."
So the two of them stood amidst the mist of the falls, gentle breezes ticking their feathers and their mane. The falls were always a sight to behold, but the number of people packing the tropical paradise had soared overboard today. Hugging and cuddling crowds thronged the atmosphere, and larger, bulkier creatures like Odhran had to pick their way gently through the morass of people to find their mates.
Odhran let out a sigh. "I hope we can
find them in this crowd. Do you have any clue who you're going to meet, Ailbhe?"
"He said he'd have a rose, but half the mooks 'ere got one o' those," she tutted. "I'm guessin' he'll know me. Feathers crossed, eh?"
