Often called the 'Lover's Triangle' for the trio of waterfalls feeding in to a triangular gorge, the Idalani area is a picture-perfect place to spend time with that special someone, with a beautiful exotic backdrop and countless rainbows dancing across the sky. (+2 Speed)

The Matches and the Fenling [Cloud + Tsuki, Private]

Postby cloudwilk » 05/30/2016 4:45 PM

Image She had been flying for awhile. 'Home!' She thought to herself. She loved her new place on the island, don't get her wrong, but the relief to see familiar faces is welcoming for the young matches. The pink fire trailed from her body, making her appear like a little comet in the sky. In a crude sort of way, she looked like a meteorite about to crash-land into the tropics like it had done with the dinosaurs. Except pink, small, and covered in loving-brown feathers. She arrived to the edge of the falls, making sure to skip into the trees to meet the other birds of Barakka. She gave her waves, kisses, and other formalities before immediately going into her point, "Have you seen where mamwa has gone?"
A fellow matches, candy in color, smiled, "She's getting food!"
Lewisia's stomach rumbled at the thought of her mamwa's food. "Alright then... how about the others?"- she said in reference to 'her other family members.'
The candy matches looked into the corner of his eyes, "Well... Pap is finding something special for your mam... and Tree? He's been super dedicated to sports."
"Ah..." Lewisia said, a little distant. As much as she loved to look around, she really had just wanted to see her family. "Well then, I guess I'll be back later!" She flew off without a second thought.
"Uh oh..." the candy matches smiled as he watched her fly off. "Hopefully that doesn't mean too much trouble."

Reyka the Fenling

Reyka walked happily through the grass near the falls, her ears pricked up in an expression of her excitement. She was so glad she had decided to take this trip to Barraka and, while she missed her friends in Lambastia, she knew that there was a likely chance she would run into some other good friends of hers that lived here in Barraka. Reflecting on how she arrived, she chuckled, now finding it funny how terrified she was to hitch a ride on Gillin over here. The Hollowheart flew to fast for her and she swears she yowled in fear the entire way. When he dropped her off here as her first sight seeing location for a few days and told her to meet some new friends, she had felt ready to throw up. Now, walking through the soft grass, she realized just how silly she had been and she was feeling much better, but, to be honest, she was not looking forward to the ride back.

The Fenling, as she walked and looked around, personally thought this place was absolutely gorgeous. After a while she neared the waterfall and stopped, lying down and folding her front paws one over the other comfortably. She watched the waterfall in awe, her sensitive ears held against her head to block out the brunt of the noise.

Lewisia landed on a branch in an area that kept noisy year round from the heavy sounds of falling water. The rumbling was even tactile- very lightly shaking the region in a unifying rhythm. Since the matches hadn't had food yet, her first goal at the falls was to pick off some insects from nearby plants. Any pieces of seed, grass, or berry to come with it were a bonus. Her flames glowed on nearby leaves as she perched for her flight down. How they didn't catch the trees on fire? Matches magic. Magic. A perfect word to describe the wonder of the gorgeous bird and it's double tails and fire snatching a little earth critter in one bite. Sparks trailed off her like a wand casting a spell. She finished her chewing by the time she reached the next branch. 'Satisfying.' She thought to herself. She perched once more and prepared for her next meal.

The Fenling's ear flicked as she heard the fluttering of wings. She brushed it off as some Matches hunting some insects or something. Reyka preferred fruits and meat to insects, doesn't she doesn't eat them occasional, but her preference is fruit and meat, along with a few veges here and there. She lowered head to her paws, sleepily watching the prismatic rainbow of colors form in the spray of the waterfalls. The tune of the match's wings above and the waterfall's nearby, roaring waters, lulling her into a state of drowsiness. She supposed that ride over here from Lambastia took more out of her than she had originally thought. It didn't take long for her eyes to drift close, her mind falling in and out of consciousness.

Lewisia was satisfied. Satiated. Entirely content. She lay along several branches, belly exposed, still miraculously not catching anything on fire. It seemed as though she, too, were drifting off into a slumber. She shook herself awake at that thought and jumped up. It was still practically mid-day! How could she go to sleep now? Perhaps now her family would be ready, awaiting in their home. 'No' she thought. 'It's still too soon...' She looked around for something to entertain her. 'Hm! A rainbow-white thing! They look... new! I haven't seen them around here... or anyone who looks like that, to be frank.' She stared down from her branch, thinking a little.
'I'm gonna play with them.' She flew down, almost directly saying 'hello!' to the fenling. Boy, would that have been boring! No. She had to do more, of course. She swooped back up and snatched a branch, so quick it was barely even audible, and flew back down towards the creature, making sure to flutter her feathers to soften her landing as she reached the floor. She crouched, stepping around the sleeping fuzzball with great agility. Carefully, Lewisia lifted the branch in her beak and very lightly tickled the fenling's paws.
