"YEAH! I know you're totally just saying that!" Tyler cheered. "But that's OK! Because spending quality time with your big sister is TOTALLY EXTREME!"

Kasey laughed. It was real and it was genuine and she hadn't expected to laugh at all. Maybe, despite all his ridiculous obliviousness, her brother was more perceptive than he appeared. Maybe he hadn't just gotten lucky with this idea.

"Well... you... go get us some bang-up seats or something. I kinda wanna take a look around first. I do want to soak up the natural beauty of this place, after all."

Now it was Tyler's turn to laugh. "Sis, sis, sis. Clearly, you are not edumacated in the way of concerts. Our seats are picked ahead of time based on our tickets. And we got totally rad ones! I had to camp out on their website TO THE MAX to get these tickets! So let's BOTH go soak in the radical natural wonder!"

[Freezair]

A record needle scratched in Kasey's brain.

"W-wait. BOTH of us? You want to go hiking around WITH me?"

"Yeah, sis! Hiking is totally rad cardio! And it means we get mucho more sibling time to spend together!" He threw one paw over her shoulders and gave her a side hug.

"...You're not going to tell me about your shoes again, are you?"

"Naaah! I told you all about them already! But I could tell you about my totally radical new deck!"

"Erm... please let go."

Tyler let her out of the hug.

"Ah... maybe I could tell you a bit about the shop instead?"

"Sure thing, sis!" Tyler said. "Whatever you say! You didn't talk much in the car ride! Have you sold any of those totally radical scarves lately? Because those were always my favorite!"

Kasey cracked a smile. "Well, I--"

There was a soft glitter of light in front of her. Kasey tore her vision away from her brother and looked down.

A strange creature was standing in front of her.

Kasey had no idea what she was looking at.

But Tyler did.

"WoooAAAoooaaHH! It's one of them!" he shouted. "It's one of those little critters this concert is for! Like, we have been BLESSED! Check it out!"

Kasey lowered her nose to it. It was... vulpine? It was hard to look directly at. But it was as purple-blue as a night sky deep out in the country, and she felt she could look into its starry body forever.

The bond between you is strong, it whispered in their minds. (Somehow, she knew it spoke to Tyler too.) Stronger than you realize. I am drawn to it.
