Zal stood as still as possible while the Tatterdem did his work.  She seemed to get more and more relaxed erself, worrying less about the possibility that he would 'get his revenge'.  She too almost started humming.  The blade was sweeping so lightly that she could hardly even feel it.  To think, a creature of such fierceness could perform a task like this with such grace... Zal thought to herself.

I think back to the time when my search first began,
I left behind those shores of sand
For the endless everlasting world out there.

I know that with this burning passion driving me
Someday, somewhere I'll finally see
The light I have searched for everywhere!

Shanks was finished with her back in no time. He moved to her forehead, making sure to take his time. Going slow and minding not to harm her. Just to think, not to long ago he would have slashed at her if he had this chance. Now he was helping her? It was a bit confusing. Would they be friends afterwards? Or would they continue fighting? He wasn't sure, he really didn't care.

Zal felt a bit more at ease, even when he moved to her forhead and could've sliced her head clean off.  She was beginning to trust the Tatterdem more now, and she herself was also wondering if they might be like 'friends' or something of the sort.  It was an odd thing to consider.  Then again, most friends started out as enemies, or was it the other way around?  That's how it was on TV, anyway.

Shanks took a step back after he was all done. He sighed and rotated his shoulders up and back. Cracking them lightly. He felt a little stiff, but it would pass. He examined his bladed hand, making sure there wasn't any hair or goo on it. His eyes moved from his blades to the cat.
"So, now that your free of that goo, are you going to head your separate way?" He asked.

"Thank you," Zal said again.  She pondered for a bit then said, "I don't know.  That depends if you can stand me being around.  I guess it would be more fun to hunt with someone else, and also it might be way less lonley."  She wasn't going to fully admit that she wanted to be 'friends', but it would be nice to have company along the way.  A thought struck her mind.  "Hey, I never did get your name." she said.  It wasn't really a question, but it should eb enough for him to know she was curious about it.

Shanks crossed his arms and seemed to be a bit bored.
"Well, I'm not here for a pleasure trip." He sighed. "I'm trying to get out of here as fast as I can."
He looked down one of the paths.
"But I guess you can tag along." He said, looking back to her.
He let his arms rest against his side again.
"The names Shanks, and you?" He asked.
He wasn't much for letting people know his name, or for being friendly. But he didn't like to be the "bad guy" all the time.

"Thanks.  And that's a cool name.  Odd, but cool.  Mine's Zalmon.  Just call me Zal, though." Zal said.  She absoulutely hated her real name, though she had enough manners to at least tell people it.  Shanks... she thought. Odd, but cool name.
Zal srtetched, stiff herself from standing still so long.  She smelled down each tunnel, happy that she could, and started down the middle.  "C'mon~" she called to Shanks.

Shanks followed behind her, not caring which way they went. Zalmon, now that's a weird name, he thought. Sounded like one of those...what were they called...Digimon? He didn't care, it was better than some of the names he knew. Like one of his owners Lucain, it's name was RinTin, that was such a stupid name.

Zal was happier now with a companion, and she was very happy that she could relax a bit more knowing that he wouldn't attack her again.  She cautiously continued down the path she had chosen.  She decided to take this route because down the left side was the smell of that stuff again, and down the right side she smelled a disgusting and sour scent, like a dead animal.  She most certainly didn't want to go see that.

Shanks didn't say or do much, other than follow beside her. He didn't know what to say, and didn't want to acknowledge the fact that he was being nice. He wondered what was down this path? What they would encounter? He didn't know, and really wasn't afraid. He could handle his self, and Zal seemed to be able to handle herself.

As they continued down the path, it got darker and darker.  Of course, Zal could still continue to see in the dark, but for some reason her vision was getting foggy.  Was it the surroundings?  She blinked a couple times and it appeared to be gone, so she decided not to worry about it.  They reached a spot where it continued on but also had a smaller tunnel connecting to the side.  She sniffed at that, and it seemed like a reasonable place for them to continue through.  She didn't know if Shanks could fit or not, since the ceiling was about up to his shoulders.  She looked back curiously at him, as if summing up his overall size and trying to mentally fit that into the tunnel in a comftorable position.

Shanks sighed annoyingly, he didn't understand why she had to stop. He seemed to bend down, placing his clothed hand on the top part of the entrance to support him.
"It's fine, I can fit." He said sternly.
He didn't want to spend more time then needed here. So he wasn't to happy about her stalling.

She was about to ask 'Are you sure?', though was able to stop herself.  That question might've come out as offensive as telling someone 'You're fat.' or something.  So she just shrugged and moved on, walking her way don thhis unusually curvy tunnel.  it seemed to go in every direction, twisting and turning, and it had no break off point.

Shanks walked a bit slow, he had to duck down lower every so often as the ceiling would jut out. He had never noticed this tunnel before. But he also hadn't been down her very often. He shrugged, it didn't really matter. But as he shrugged, the ceiling jutted out and clipped his skull shoulder blade. He groaned annoyingly, just perfect.

Zal turned around when Shanks groaned, afraid that he had gotten hurt or something.
"You okay?" she asked.  Then she looked forward and saw an opening to another tunnel.  A larger one, one that would definately fit Shanks.   Without even stopping to smell it, she said, "Let's go this way," and hurried through.
