Morse watched the entrance warily. Voluntarily entering dark, gaping, mysterious holes in the ground wasn't something he normally did, and he was still trying to come to terms with what Alyss called his "new adventurer personality". He himself thought it was more that people kept pushing him to get out into the world than any character development. He rather hoped he was right; staying at home was much safer.
Finally, he followed Toxa, carefully skirting the puddle. In his opinion, adventure could wait for him as long as it wanted, but he'd rather not get involved. Still, he had agreed to this, even if immediately after arriving home he'd begun to have second thoughts. Anyway, he didn't want to disappoint Alyss, not now.
Alyss smiled invisibly, eyes glowing brighter just for a moment, and lumbered after her charge, careful not to hit anything important with her wings, which were hard to keep folded at times. Eventually they would settle.
Morse cautiously prodded the cold floor of the cavern with a toe, then looked up. "Er...it's very big," he ventured. What do you say when you're approaching almost certain peril?
Alyss, coming in behind him, immediately felt at home among so much stone. Perhaps this would help her wings to settle. She stayed off to one side, trying not to get in the way.
