"Of course I'll help you...except, well, what exactly are you looking for? Rushing through the Veils blindly takes a long time. It's kind of like trying to find something on the Internet without using Google. It's really, really hard. I smiled. It was true - I couldn't look to the future blindly. It was also like the Internet in that there were popups - futures that were impossible to reach anymore.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I don't really know what exactly I'm looking for. I think maybe a girlfriend? I'm not really sure." I said. It was nice that he was willing to help me. Most people judged me before they gave me a chance. Sure, I was rough around the edges sometimes, and prefered to be alone, but when certin people talk to me, I can be nice.

I smiled. So he wanted a pairbond, someone to trust. I could help with that. Flapping my webbed arm-wing-tings, I flew over to the shelf where I kept one of my prized possessions - a writing scarab, to transcribe what I said when I tranced. "I can come up with a list of things you can do that will guide you to paths where you will find blissful relationships. You see, every actions sets us farther in Fate...like we're climbing a tree, see? We can climb up different branches, and each different branch leads to more choices. i can see what choices will cause what..."

For the next few minutes, I just sat there. Listening to what he had to say and suggest. Waiting for instructions of what to do next. "I understand what you mean." I said, happily.

I placed my scarab atop a stack of papers I kept for it. I carefully inserted a cartridge of red ink into the tiny clockwork beetle's back. Flipping the switch on its back, I turned it into transcribe mode.

"Command : record only this voice." The tiny device scribbled the words down, with a reply underneath - "Command accepted : record only the voice of Retroactive."

I then closed my eyes, searching for that strand that I knew I could travel on, forewards and backwards. After a few minutes, my "third eye" opened, the slit on top of my head that held a violet iris and black pupil; I had found that strange place in my mind I could trance to, and I let myself be immersed. As I saw things, I described them - paths, people, and nessecary choices.

I continued waiting in my spot and listening. However, I started not being able to concentrate because I started to get thirsty, and hungry. I hadn't gotten the chance to eat this morning. I wondered what time, would I be eating at next. My stomach then growled, really loud...

I snapped from my trance at the sound, having had gotten used to being snapped in and out of my mind. I quickly shuffled through the papers, pulling out any romantic paths I saw.

"Hungry? Before we set off, we can certainly grab a bite to eat...here are the info sheets. They'll tell you how to get from now to a relationship. There are many paths, but I did my best only to write down successful and happy romances..."

"Uhh , Yes something to eat would be nice." I was happy that he suggested that, I was so hungry. I was also getting so confused about all these paperwork, it was giving me a bit of a headach. I needed a break, a long one too.

"Hmm...Well, what do you want to get? If you're into fast food, there are a lot of places like that around here. Craiss is the world's biggest tourist trap. "See the Caves!" and all that junk." I wasn't too fond of the tourist trade, I loved my town. I didn't love idiots gawking at everything.

" Only certin fast foods, if anything 'Pizza Pizza' is my favorite." I said, while my stomach growled again. I didn't quite understand why I was so hungry right now."Whats your favorite fast food place?"

((Sadly, Ray's brain is confused too. I think they're getting food before they go to Craiss Caverns to search for the ancient tome of awesome or something. It's fine.))

"I like Pizza Pizza too!" I smiled. "Come on, though, cause we do need to get going. I need to find the Tome, because yeah, I already explained. And I couldn't take a hit from a kitten Kuhna...so I need an escort. Remember?"

"Well, we know where the tome is, so it shouldn't take too long. I also know the path that will be the fastest - it's not going to be hours and hours, fortunately." After a bite to eat, I smiled. "The fastest entrance to the Caverns is actually out a few miles east of here...Do you have a car? I wasn't blessed with the ability to drive, lacking a human form and all...
