Once home to the Crystal Cities of the Hunter clans, Craiss Caverns is now a hollow empty shell of its former glory due to a strange misfortune in the past. Man-made tunnels now lead to this place, but tales tell of some never returning. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

"Not a problem," Selka answered with a grin, then turned her attention to the walls. Kamon was right, these didn't quite look like tunnels built just willy-nilly.
"This is a strange old cave, that's for sure. And I'm not just saying that. I've been to lots of caves before, natural or not." Then, a curious thought started to pop up in the back of Selka's mind. She'd thought of it before but assumed it was just because they were still at the entrance.
"Y'know, I was just thinking...where are the other tunnels? I mean, every place I've been to has more than just one tunnel..." she trailed off, reaching out with her free hand to feel the surface of the walls. What was the point of a singular tunnel with a gentle slope? Not very adventurous to say the least.

But it's all an act, 'cause I know exactly what you're wanting. You know it's what I'm wanting

Boy I know what you desire, oh, you're such a bad, bad liar

This could be perfection, or venom dripping in your mouth

Singing like a Siren, love me while your wrists are bound

"R-really?" Kamon stuttered over his shoulder, appearing to be more shocked than anything. After all, his knowledge of caves, adventures, or any other outdoorsy subject matter was inversely proportional to Selka's knowledge - quite directly, in fact. "Would... we see any of the other tunnels?" he asked, frowning over the nearest wall as he walked. It looked pretty darn solid to him. "Do they... connect, or something? Or you mean, like, at the entrance, we'd see them?"

Kamon's paw pads were thick and rough from his many hours, days, and years of walking upon them on non-paved roads. Thus, he did not feel the steadily-increasing, ground-based growth of... what one could only hope to be moss or lichen.

What he did feel was his paw sink into a cave pool to the first joint, and he very nearly lost his head over it in disgust.

My wraiths, though not wraiths then, wandered deep into the heart of the polar storm. They tried to fight sleep, naive to the inevitability of their fate. When they awoke, they saw before them my own self, so much a part of the ice and cold they almost fail to see me. I wear a crown of the coldest, sturdiest ice, and my claws and fur have coated themselves in it.
I stand aloof to the cold, for I have lived in it so long, been a part of it so long, it no longer concerns me.

My wraiths are cursed to wander the polar tundra, eternally freezing, following mortal explorers and trying to warn them with their presence that they should not travel onward, should not make the same mistake. But there will always be those who persist in pressing on, never knowing what they are doomed to face, or destined to suffer.

(I hope you don't mind if I jump in. If you do I can take this down)

Neo walked through the cave looking at everything around her... or at least trying to. It was pretty dark so she couldn't make much out. Oh well at least she was outside exploring without the kiddos for once. She loved her son and daughter very much, but she hadn't had any alone time in a very long time. Now that they were both moved out on their own with jobs she could breathe easy and go have some fun all by herself. She felt something squishy under her feet. She bent down to take a closer look. It looked somewhat like moss so that's what she told herself it was. She really didn't want to think about what the other possibilities could be. She continued on her way forward and heard voices up ahead. "Hello over there!" She hoped they were nice.

(guess I'll post again - not gonna skip any turns after that, though)

Kamon stared down at his paw, choking back the contents of his stomach. He was torn as to whether he should remove the slime by spreading it against the wall, or daring to ask his new friend for a towel.

A voice snapped him from his reverie, and he turned in surprise.

"Hello," he responded, subtly attempting to rid his paw of the floor-gunk by scrubbing it with more floor. "You know, I wasn't expecting anyone else to pick this tunnel," he said with a sheepish laugh. "There's more I didn't know about, and I kinda figured I'd picked the wrong one.

"I'm Kamon. Who are you?"

((SO SORRY. I've been so busy these last 2 weeks. Only been home twice now.))

Selka looked over at Kamon and nodded, "Yeah, tunnels usually connect with another somehow. Like cracks in a wall..." she paused and thought about it before shrugging. "Sort of."
Then she heard a splash and looked down at Kamon's paw just as he did. Oooh, she thought with a matching expression. Human form was lovely since she had shoes on, which kept her feet from the worst of it. The little bit that oozed between the straps, Selka just ignored. She'd been through worse. Before she could say anything, however, Selka picked up sounds of walking (or rather, squelching) behind them. She turned just in time to see another kuhna approach and call out.
Kamon responded to the new stranger's call and Selka grinned. Well now, there were quite a few adventurers today, it seemed. Just as her current companion introduced himself, she interjected, "And I'm Selka, love."

(No worries. Writing papers has been keeping off for a while too. Stupid grant writing course.)

"My name is Neopolitain, but everybody calls me Neo for short." She gave them a great big smile, although she wasn't entirely sure they could see it well. "I just picked a random tunnel to go through. I had no idea there would be other people here. I probably should have done a little more research before I left, but when adventure calls I must answer." She sighed "I can hear my son yelling at me now. Why are you always so reckless? these things take planning and provisions! He's such a left-brainer. I have no idea where he got that from." She takes in the scenery once more "I wonder just where this place leads to, if any?"

Kamon shifted his weight over his feet - a nervous tick. Not his usual nervous tick, which was to scrub his chest with a paw, but given the state of his paw, he was not terribly keen on pursuing this - particularly since he'd likely be forced to lick it off later.

"Yeah..." he said, attempting to smile, "Kids are like that. Heh."

"Not entirely sure where the tunnels go," he said, once again vainly craning his neck to see where he could not, "but they end up with a bunch of... magic runes or something."

"I think they just glow," he explained quickly, face reddening. "I don't think they, you know, grant wishes or anything."
