Neon didn't want to come here. But when his owner Molly gave him those big puppy dog eyes, he just couldn't say "no". She had been wanting an Akail for some time now. And the past explorations had failed. So she decided to send another pet into the dark depths. Neon shook his head. She was crazy for more pets, and she needed another pet like she needed a hole in her head. But whatever will make her happy, he shrugged.

   He looked around outside the entrance for anyone. Many times people will meet up in the caves to venture together. The last thing Neon wanted was someone he had to protect and watch while he was searching for an Akail. He hated picking up the slack of weaker people. He avoided helping people as much as possible.

   His head laid low towards the ground as he started to walk into the caverns. His strides were slow and seem to take forever, but he eventually made his way into the shadows. His blood that pumped though his tubes glowed within the cave. He guessed it was why he was named Neon. Chuckling softly to his self, he looked around.

   "Well, I guess there's no need for a flash light." He said to his self.

   He turned a soft corner and seemed to do down a slight slope. It seemed like the caverns could go on forever. But he had time, all the time in the world. Soon his neon glow disappeared and the darkness swallowed him up.

Neon didn't like going out on these hunts. He felt they were useless, not many pets have come back with anything. And some barely come back with their lives. He had heard stories from these caves. Boring, worthless, empty caves. With boring, worthless, empty expedition. He shook his head, why was he he so gullible to his owner? He chuckled at the thought.

His light made the caves side glow. He looked around, but saw nothing. Other then some rocks, and dust, and more rocks.

"Why do I have to be here!" He yelled in annoyance.

He held his head even lower to the ground. He felt kinda depressed, which was not his normal attitude. But this worthless quest was bringing him down. And if someone were to join him, that would just make everything worse.

Neon looked around but didn't see anyone.

"Well, just because I don't want to do something, don't mean I'm not going to do it for someone else." He replied to the invisible voice.

He walked along further. Whoever was following was annoying him. Why hide in the shadows? But it might be a smart thing. Khimera are known for their aggressiveness, so the voice may be afraid.

"Why do you hide?" Neon asked.

He figured he would start a conversation to pass the time. It would be awhile till he got anywhere close to where Akail sittings have been.

Neon turned to follow the Khimera.

"I hear that this place has a long history." She replied.

"That something bad happened here." She added.

He didn't mean to follow the other Khimera. Or to be in his way. But she thought she'd tell him a thing or two about this place. He didn't know much, but it seemed he knew more then the new Khimera.

"Why are you here? Are you also on a hunt for the legendary Akail?" He asked.

That's the most reason for someone to come here. If not to pay their respects to the grave that is down here.

"Or are you here to pay your respects?" He added.

Neon nodded.
"Well, the grave is deeper within." He replied.
"It will be some time." He added.
He knew the cave was some ways down the tunnel.
But to find what he was looking for was be on that.
So he decided to show him the spot.
Afterwards he would go on with his hunt.
"I must warn you that Akail may attacks in the mean time, they can be dangerous." He replied.
He had heard stories of them.
But was ready for anything.

Neon nodded and took the lead.
He knew this path lead to the grave stone.
A long as they stayed on it, then they would be fine.
But he also knew that the cavern's were dangerous.
Rock could fall at any moment.
And large valleys could rip a path in two.
So he was more worried about that then an Akail.
Especially since he was looking for one.
"Just don't touch any large rocks." He called back.
He wasn't sure if any of them were loose or not.
So he's rather be safe than sorry.

Neon shook his head.
"I don't know much about the lands surrounding Evelon." He started.
"But I haven't heard of no cities in here, maybe the Akail?" He asked himself.
He walked forward a bit.
Then looked to the ground to see the rocks and stones.
"If you mean to ask me because of the different rocks." He started on.
"They could be a result of many people passing through here." He finished.
He knew lots of people flooded this place in search of Akail.
They could have brought with them outside stuff.
He stopped at a fork in the road.
Then, calculating in his mind, chose the right one.
He remembered from tales he heard in the pen and around Evelon of these caverns.
He knew where to go.
"Why are you here?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.

Neon was confused.
He didn't really understand what the Khimera.
But he just shrugged and went on.
"The Akail?" He said back.
"Well, not much is know about them. But that they live in these caverns and hate the sun light." He replied.
He only knew tales of them.
That's mostly what anyone knew.
They weren't common.
And the ones that people seen were more attack first talk later.

Neon didn't like how the other Khimera commanded him around.
"Sadly I can not control my glow." He replied with a nasty tone.
He padded on.
"If we chose the wrong path, it's not like we can't turn around." He added.
He looked around.
He remembered some one telling him that the tombstone would be along the path.
The tombstone wasn't hard to find.
Many people came to morn.
So it had to be somewhere close.

Neon scoffed softly.
"Well, my glow is do to the darkness, like glow in the dark." He replied sternly.
He walked on.
Sniffing the air he nodded.
"We are close now." He added.
He had heard that the smell of the grave reached you before you reached the grave.
He watched as the other Khimera looked around.
And he wondered why he was so curious and ill taught.
Every pet in the Evelon region knew of the Caves.

Neon scoffed loudly.
And snarled, his teeth exposed.
"Well, things have changed a lot since 'your days' " He replied.
He looked back to the road ahead.
"Plus my owner doesn't control how our personality acts." He added.
She always let the pets do mostly what they wanted.
He sniffed again.
The grave was close.
He looked around.
He had heard that they grave was in an opening.
So when the path widens, it meant they were there.

Neon fell silent for a moment.
Who was his creature?
He had heard his owner telling him he came from some sorta factory?
Created from someone in the higher order.
He shook his head.
What did it matter?
He was here now.
So who created him wasn't a question.
The darkness seemed to get thicker as the path went on.
Neon wondered if they would ever get there.
But he knew it was close.
he could just feel it.

Neon didn't hear the foot steps of the other Khimera.
Turning he notice he wasn't there at all.
"Where did you go?" He called out.
His question just echoed off the rocky walls.
"Hm, he must have left." Neon said, shrugging.
He decided that it was time for him to be heading home as well.
Turning around he abandoned his search and headed home.
It was sad for him to turn tail.
Cause just at the next turn was the gravestone they were searching for.
But maybe another day the two adventurers would stumble upon it.
