Lily and Aurevya
The girl had honestly no idea how she'd wound up in a place like this. She lifted one foot out of a deep puddle she'd accidentally stepped in and looked around. The guy who'd brought her along had seemed friendly enough, but insisted on chattering away at her no matter how many times she shook her head and stared blankly. Before long, he'd stopped by some little lean-to by the path that barely constituted a road. Gesturing to her and chattering away, Lily derived that she was supposed to get off.
And now here she was in a very wet place surrounded by more wet places and no idea where, if anywhere, she could find people. Surely there wouldn't be a stop in the middle of nowhere? After a second, she just started moving along again. If she'd learned anything, it was always better to keep moving.
Lily'd only taken a few more steps when she noticed a shape among the gnarled roots of a massive tree.
