Taint almost smiled as Kitani ran up to Ruirii. Almost. When Ruirii thanked her, she simply shrugged. Then she heard his question and looked back down at the two. "Yes...yes I was. Also, it was her that told me you were here. While she has a quick temper and is sort of...sinister...she helped you as much as I did." she said, almost casually. The ferrikoon half-turned and pretended to be staring at the tree, however, her eyes were fixed on the kuhnas.

Ruirii and Kitani {20}

Kitani lept onto Ruirii knocking him over into the mush of the swamp. The water bubbled above his head just before he resurfaced. He gasped for air, but shook the feeling away. They nuzzled each other, then looked at Taint.
"I don't know how to repay you Taint."
She looked back at Ruirii.
"I'm sorry Ruirii."
"It doesn't matter now. You're safe and now I know Akida won't kill me because I lost you."
They both turned to Taint.
"You're probably tired of hearing this, but thanks. One more thing, do you know of a way to the nearest town?"
Though the swamp was mostly water, they couldn't swim through it well, and they were now eager to get out of there.
