Rings

As Rings stepped into the muddy swamp, he had no idea where he was. He knew about the Baian Swamp, he just didn't think that he could get there so easily from the Slums. Maybe the next time I go back to that dump I'll look for a snicky instead of treasure. He laughed to himself. At least I'm not in a muddy area.
But that thought quickly faded after he stepped in a deep puddle of mud. His whole body flipped in with his leg and sank into the mud. He managed to somehow 'swim' his way out. As he lifted his head out of the mud he gasped for air and settled down on a dryer patch of dirt. Just then, it started to rain and the dirt quickly turned to more mud that rose up to his chest. "Ugh!" Rings groaned. He slumped his way to a shallower puddle. This wasn't better than the Slums...it was worse.

Rings tried to travel farther into the swamp. He wanted to leave as soon as possible. The rain made the mud covering his body more liquidy, and it felt uncomfortable walking around with it on his fur. He took another step, but there was a deep hole and his leg got stuck. He yanked his paw out as quickly as he could. He walked around the hole, stumbling over hidden rocks sometimes. At last, he saw a large rock with a flat top poking out of the mud. He scrambled his way to the top. Luckily, the rock was also shaded by a few large leaves. He laid down and started to sleep. He dreamed of a dry place, a better place. A sunny place with a wonderful lake. He knew there probably wasn't such a place, and decided to forget about it. His dreams were always better than his awake thoughts.

He woke up and yawned. He scratched lightly on the rock he was sleeping on to make sure he didn't sink. The mud had gone down..a lot. He was now standing seven feet above the ground, but luckily the mud would act as a 'matress' and break his fall. He jumped down, he made sure to quickly get out of the mud. He sighed. "I better look for something to eat." He muttered to himself. He had trouble finding food. But then he found a fruit tree and climbed up. He ate the sour fruit that hung off it. After he climbed back down he decided that he'd better find a way out of this place. "Help??" He tried to ask. But he knew no one was there to hear him. He was all alone in the Baian Swamp, with no food to help him survive.

He kept traveling, he fell in the mud again a few times. He was tired and hungry. He just wanted to find a way to get out of this dump. He tried to get all the dirt, mud, and bugs out of his fur before going on any more. He decided that flying would be easier, so he flapped his weak wings and flew across the swamp. He would hopefully find someone to travel with him and help him find a home soon. He landed on another high flat topped rock and fell asleep. The next day would probably be one of the worst days he had ever lived. But hopefully, that wouldn't be true.

When Rings woke up, he flew farther and farther. The rain poured down on him and left his fur soaking wet. He searched madly for an exit. He flew on top of a large tree and looked around. He flew over the trees and finally found an exit. He left this nasty place, but next, came the Tengel  Rainforest.
