~Blood Rain~Ragefire~Nightscream~
From the middle of a thorny thicket came a squeaking cry. A small, red reptillian figure crept out from between the prickers, sniffing at the dead grass. Its mouth was dripping some form of slightly translucent pink goo, and it left a trail of it as it went. A large droplet of water landed on its nose; it squealed again and skittered back under the bush.
Great wings beat at the air above, and a magnificent, dragon-like creature alighted next to the petite reptile.
"Loki Wanre," it growled, its voice low and guttural, as it shook out its scintillating orange scales, wet with newly fallen rain. "Lai."
Now the first thing twittered like a chickadee and flapped messily from its makeshift shelter to rub elatedly against the other's hind leg. "Baba!" it yowled, the high, tinny word great in contrast to the bestial speaker. "Huanying ni!"
It seemed excited, almost as if it were expecting something. It cocked its black-and-red head.
"Fehn. Mama fehn lai."
Its chin dropped dissatisfactorily. "Wei shenme?"
The landing of yet another gigantic, lizardlike being muffled the orange beast's words. This one was black with glowing green markings, and its mouth was dripping blood.
"I am here," it said in English. "And I bring meats."
Loki Wanre clicked its tongue, needing the physical movement to successfully switch languages.
"Mama?" it asked skeptically.
"Blood Rain?" the newcomer prompted.
Blood Rain's words came out feminine and sloppy. "Is it supposed to smell like strangers?"
