In the jungle, the mighty jungle... {Wild Hunt, Open}

When her brother had suggested that the pair go out for a stroll, Temper had imagined something...less huge than this. What she had envisioned as a quick walk around the block had somehow turned into a full jungle-journey. After asking her brother about this, he'd simply replied 'It's a rainforest, not a jungle'.

This comment alone was normally enough to rifle Temper's temper, but she decided to let it go for today. They'd been wandering for over an hour, and clearly there was nothing else she could do except continue to wander. That, and maybe rip her brother's throat out.

"Why did you bring me here anyway?" Flicking her tail, she paused when she reached a large log. Crouching down, she did an expert jump over it before landing neatly on her feet. Shaking her head, she padded forward.

"Duh!" Denahi turned and let out a snort, flicking his messy tufts of fur out of his face, "Haven't you heard of this place? There's all kinds of cool stuff here. I was bored, and figured that a bit of exploring might be fun." Temper mused over this. On the one hand, her brother really could annoy her at times. On the other, she didn't really have anything better to do. Besides, this place was quite nice...

"Alright, fine. I'll stay," Sticking her muzzle in the air, she quickly jumped ahead of her brother, "But not for long." Denahi pulled a face behind her back, before they both continued travelling

So far, the jungle had failed to impress her. Granted, it was quite nice-looking-if you were into that sort of thing. Temper had spotted several weird plants that had grabbed her attention. Still, she couldn't quite get the big deal about this place.

Denahi seemed to be getting into it though. In fact, he had all but forgotten she was there. He had disappeared into the undergrowth a few metres back, and was slinking through the bushes like a full-on jungle cat. Much of his white belly fur had been stained with mud, but it was obvious Denahi had never cared much about appearances. Half of his fur was tatty and worn, and the only completely clean bit of fur was his face.

Excitement couldn't help but flood through his veins. He loved it here. Heck, he'd dreamed of it enough times. Despite all the information he'd been told about being a mountain-based cat, he was convinced he belonged in the jungle. This was the place he felt happy

"Denahi?" She chose to draw out his name, her dark spotted tail twitching with amusement. Neither sibling had much luck when it came to names. The male didn't dislike his name that much, but he preferred it not to be used. Temper really, really hated her name. It was so stupid-Temperance. Made even worse by the fact she had a temper. An irritated frown briefly flashed across her face. The number of times her brother had teased her because of it...

"What?" The male jumped, then frowned at this disturbance. Maybe it would have been better if he had come alone. He couldn't locate his sister right now, but the fact she was talking was bad enough. It was quite obvious to any outsiders that Temper wasn't the only one who could be moody. Denahi was especially fierce, mainly towards other males though. It came from growing up without any responsibilities. Play fights had been the main game then, and could sometimes be the main game now

"Just checking you hadn't vanished." She smirked gently. If there was nothing else in this forest, at least she could tease her brother. Still, it would be nice to talk to someone else. Temper wasn't particularly sociable, but there was only so much you could take of one person. If another pet came along, it would be refreshing at this point to speak to someone else. She might even make an effort to be polite.

The male let out a growl of annoyance. He turned round to resume his 'hunting'-and let out a loud yelp of surprise as he was faced with a large thorny thing.
"Ouch!" He cried, stepping backwards and rubbing his nose with his paw. Darn bushes! He was inclined to blame Temperance for that. Hopefully no permanent damage was done. Denahi didn't want a ruined face

A sound grabbed her attention. Lifting her head, Temper frowned. What a bizarre noise! Had it been made by some sort of creature?

Hearing a followup growl, she guessed not. Just the irritated sounds of her brother. Shaking her head, she began to claw once more through the undergrowth. She didn't really care whether or not he was okay. Alright, so she didn't want him badly hurt. Still, a few scratches might do wonders for his personality.

Denahi jumped once more as his sister emerged beside him. His eyes narrowed in annoyance.
"Stop doing that! Look what you did." He pointed to his nose. It wasn't bleeding, but the area was noticeably redder than usual.

"You've had worse." Temper diagnosed unhelpfully. Glancing around, she perked up her ears with interest. Had anyone else heard the sound?
