Ares lost his grip on the branch once again. But his time he didn't catch himself. He began to tumble down the tree. He hoped he could grab a branch or something before he hit the ground so he could slow himself.

Kane gasped when he saw that Ares lost his grip. He dashed forward and hoped the kuhna would land on his back, which he did. A small 'hmph' escaped his lips at impact.

Mars saw Ares begin to fall and almost rushed forward to help, but he saw that Kane had caught his friend. He should be fine now.

Ares was relieved when he hit something hard. He hadn't fallen all the way to the ground and was glad for that. "Thanks," he whispered to Kane. He couldn't get the rest of his voice out, as his breath had been knocked out of him.

"No problem," Kane said back to the kuhna. He was glad the kuhna had landed on his back, as if he went all the way down to the ground, he might not have survived the fall.

Mars was a little worried about his friends. They both seemed unscathed, he hoped they were as okay as they seemed.

As Ares lay there on his back he began to regain his breath. That was a good thing.

"Feeling better?" Kane asked his friend. He felt bad that the kuhna had fallen onto his metal plating, but he wouldn't help that he was made of mostly metal.

Mars looked up at the sky, looking for the sun. He realized he had a place to be, and he needed to get there soon! He couldn't be late to the ball with Chrissy!

Ares chuckled unsurely. He didn't know what to do know. Maybe they should get down from the tree? That would be a good place to start.

"Good idea," Ares said. He climbed off of Kane's back and began to climb down the tree.

Kane nodded and waited for Ares to climb off his back before he began his decent down the tree. His paws slipped a little because he couldn't dig his claws into the wood.

Ares reached the ground with no further interference. He was glad of that. He didn't want to die today.

As Kane got closer to the ground he decided that he would jump and glide to the ground. The whole jumping thing was getting on his nerves. He landed on the ground beside Ares.

Ares lay down on the ground beneath the tree. It felt nice to rest his legs. He was worn out.

Kane curled up in a ball on the ground closer to the base of the tree than Ares. He didn't want to rest that close to Ares, he didn't want to appear like he liked the kuhna, he certainly liked females.

Ares found himself sleeping within a few moments. He was snoring lightly, but that didn't really bother him.

Kane awoke before Ares and waited for his friend to wake up. It was getting later in the day, Ares was sleeping the day away. Kane was tired of waiting, but didn't want to wake his friend. Maybe he'd wait just a little bit longer.

Ares was still sound asleep. He hadn't realized he was that tired when he fell asleep, well, he hadn't slept in over 24 hours, no wonder he was sound asleep on the forest floor. He soon found himself dreaming. He was dreaming of climbing up to the top of the tree. He could see miles and miles around him. It was so beautiful!

Suddenly he began to fall down the tree. And Kane wasn't there to catch him. He was falling, falling. He could see the ground. But there was someone on the ground below him. A girl. A rather beautiful girl. Suddenly his descent began to slow, like the wind was slowing him down.

Ares landed on the ground, safe and sound, beside the lovely girl. She smiled down at him. He smiled back. Boy was she pretty! He felt so humiliated, he had fallen out of a tree!

Ares turned over in his sleep. He was having such a lovely dream! He didn't want to wake up because the girl would go away. He felt himself beginning to wake, but managed to stay asleep, at least for now.

Little did he know that there was indeed a girl standing over him. He hadn't fallen out of a tree, but the girl was there, and she did smile down at him. She was in the tree, on one of the lower branches. Her bleeder clung to her shoulder, the purplish blood causing no harm to his master's fur.

Suddenly the pretty girl disappeared. Ares's eyes snapped open and his heart was pounding. He looked around him, light blue eyes wide. Where was he? Why was it so dark?

The flaming yellow tails of the female swished back and forth. She was getting restless. She couldn't believe how long this male had slept! She didn't want to make her presence known yet, so she let him get oriented with his surrounding again. This guy would be fun to mess with! The bleeder on the kuhna's back could feel his masters restlessness. It chirped quietly into Lalita's ear.
