The Batti eyed her over the rims of his black glasses, red eyes narrowing as he took in her words. "Lost, eh?" He repeated to her. He couldn't fault someone who was lost for wandering into his lab, that wasn't right. "So your looking for the highest point to see your location?" He asked, that would explain a lot for him. Better to deal with a lost traveler than a thief any day, especially out in these parts. When the girl nodded to him he took off his glasses and set them on the makeshift bookshelf behind himself. "Alright, I'll take you up." He told her straightening his vest and starting for the stairs.

Relieved, Ayami followed behind him after picking the lamp up once more. This would give her a chance to explain herself a bit better at least, she thought as she followed the small Batti to the spiral steps once more. "My friend and I were passing through, and we ran into a spider thing." She began softly, listening to her voice echo off the enclosed walls. The Batti nodded to her, letting her know he was listening as they made the long climb. Doing her best to keep the light from his eyes the whole time.

The Batti could understand how easy it was to end up lost in these lands, it was how he'd found this place first. "I'm Armin." He announced to her. A gesture of peace for his earlier accusations, which were fully justified for him. The continued at his pace in mostly quiet, other than the soft sounds of their footsteps on the marble steps. "So you fought the Chimerantula and lived, I'm impressed." He told her. Talking was always the best way to break the silence, and he hadn't spoken to anyone in almost three years. This showed in the cracks of his voice.

Ayami took the gesture for what it was, her father had been the same way about apologies and the like. With a half hidden smile she nodded to him, "Nice to meet you Armin,I'm Ayami." She kept her voice low as they went hating the ringing the echo was causing in her head. "We survived, but my friend was hurt badly. That's why I'm looking for a way out of here." She explained in a level tone. Really she wanted to ask if any more lurked in the jungles around them, or even the palace.

Armin seemed to miss the fear that shook the edges of the girl's voice, instead he turned into an alcove just off the stairs. It wasn't quiet to the third landing, but they were half way to it. While there he he picked up a dusty old stone tablet, it had the same writing as the walls. From what Ayami could see it looked like an ancient map carved on the stone. Armin then glanced back at her squinting again, "Alright on we go." He told her.

Honestly curious about what would happen next, Ayami hurried to stay a step behind the Batti. A map sparked her interest, since that could help her with her own quest in this place. Their pace was terribly slow as they began up the stairs, though the Batti didn't seem to notice her pain. He was busy muttering about roads, signs and the lack of other things. Making her wonder about his mental state, and if she should be following a crazy bat.

Down in the courtyard, the moon had shifted some time ago in it's sky cradle. Announcing to those below it that morning was soon to begin, the Soul's Rain was slowing in it's pace across the sky, the veil mending itself back to it's whole state. Car was amazed that Nocturna could keep such control over an event of this magnitude. It was like seeing a herd of wild beasts tamed by a word. Beside him he could feel the seething rage of the hunter, who was debating cutting off his head.

His eyes were sky ward and closed, making him an easy target for her rage. She was going over what could have happened to the girl, why she hadn't returned. Now with Dov having returned to try and find her, she was alone with Tzion. Two blood thirsty being mentally plotting was something that would have had most running, but that nature boy was still not paying her any heed. That made her more angry, but it was his calm that rubbed her wrong. Why was he so fascinated with the sky any way.

Her anger hadn't alluded him, he just found it childish that she blame him for something out of his control. This wasn't his fault her companion was missing in the jungle, nor was it his job to locate her. If this woman wanted the girl back she should figure out how to go and look for her, was how he thought of it.  That or he had been seriously wrong about her kind not killing Kami's, either way she'd have a tough time with her plans. That made him happy, and it would make Lyall happy as well, maybe.

When the veil seemed mostly closed, Car opened his eyes again. The stilled awe of the creature around him had faded away, and all had returned to its way. Car too returned to his body, eyes glanced over at the now red faced woman who sat a distance from him. She had a good grip on that sword of hers, but he didn't worry too much since she couldn't stand. "Shall we return?" He asked her in a pleasant more kindly voice.

Ki watched him come back to the place they were, he seemed so smug. That was how it looked in her eyes at least, rather than seeing him as a part of the forest. His words brought her rage full force, "Don't you dare pick me up!!" She screamed at him, causing a group of Polly's to take flight out of fear. She also earned herself at zing from Tzion and a disappointed look from Carmi, who was still sitting.

Car could understand a lot of things, he could understand emotions and reasons. He even could give this woman a doubt that her reaction was grief and not only rage, but that was really hard for him at the moment. With her screaming having frightened off some of the inhabitant of the jungle, Car shook his head. He was slowly reminded why he didn't like mortal being, and she was quickly trying his kindness. Uncrossing his legs slowly, Car got to his feet and looked at the woman. "As you wish." Was all he said.

He was fine with not touching her, and more so with her making her own way. The sooner he got away from this woman the better he'd be, that he knew for sure. He didn't regret helping her, nor taking the time to watch over her. What he regretted was staying around this long and being noticed, he wasn't going to make that mistake again. Standing silently he watched the woman struggle with her sword, desperately trying to get to her feet with the last of her strength.

In his heart however Car knew he couldn't leave just yet, there was still the matter of the other woman. That in it's own way obligated him to stay and find her, since their kind being lost in this kind of wilds usually ended in destruction of things. It was his duty to this place, to the trees, plants and creatures that chose to live here wildly that he was protecting. With a deeply set sigh he made his way behind the hunter, slowly up the stairs taking care to avoid touching her in any way. Still his mind wasn't fully on her, rather it was lost on the thought of who the next chosen huntress would be.

The corridor of stairs was narrow, causing Ayami to have to squeeze her way through several sharp turns in them. It wasn't that she didn't love a good adventure, and it wasn't that this wasn't one of grand perorations. What it came down to was a few simple things, she was tired as no one's business, her feet ached terribly with each step she took, and she found she was hungry; the protests of her stomach a testament to that. The crazed bat had seemed to have noticed her stomach's miserable chattering behind himself, as he stopped dead in the middle of the turn that would lead them to the third landing. "My, I have forgotten myself." He muttered to her, "Are you hungry? Yes, you must be, and your friend as well I assume?" His voice broke, cracking with certain words.
