[Freezair]

(Kyhorlet in human form: Moofius Version - Roxi Version)

Freezair's thick boots sucked at the ground as she trudged through the mud. The shadows cast by the trees above, and the dampness of the rain, made her dirty blonde hair look almost black. Her clothes clung moistly to her chubby body, and she itched uncomfortably at her wide shoulders. This jungle was a tiring place. She had fairly good stamina, especially when it came to walking long distances, but she was rather out of shape.

Kyhorlet, using her twelve precious human hours to make this trek, wrapped her furry coat around her shoulders. It was not watertight like Kayneena's scales were. The Serraptor was constantly shaking droplets out of her feathery crest, but she seemed otherwise uninhibited by the rain. And floating, slithering Rocket was completely at home. Although he missed having the tentacles his older body had, he was completely comfortable in almost any kind of seafaring body.

Rorygon, piggybacking with Kayneena, seemed the worst off. Muttering through the oppresively humid air, he griped, "Where is this stupid library supposed to be, anyway? We've been walking for AGES..."

[Queeny]

A common cavallion was trudgeing through the mud, and muck, and anything else you would call it. On her back was a man. He had brown hair, grey eyes and a ciggarette poking out of his mouth. He was laying on his back..on the horses back.
It's kind of a wonder how he can stay that way. Having his wrists tucked away behind his head; Leon fiddled with his ciggarette in his mouth with his tongue, thinking deeply.  He also had this weird, invention. It was a metal belt straped around his chest, and it held up a shaft, of which held up an umbrella over him, and the head of the Cavallion.
Leon had always worn his black long coat,but this time wearing a grey sweat shirt, and jeans. It was getting pretty cold. In his sweat shirt , hid Orion. His common Draculi. He had his head poking out of the collar of Leon's sweatshirt for air.
in one of his pockets of his long coat,slept a hydrokunha, Nami.

[Freezair]

The Gorgeel cocked his head. Something sounded off in the distance.

"Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Kayneena replied.

"I hear it too," Kyhorlet said. Her ears seemed to twitch, and for a second, her Cuniflare form seemed to have taken over.

Freezair shivered. "What are you guys talking about?"

"Something they hear," Rorygon mumbled. Depressedly, he huffed, "Maybe it's the library."

"It'd be the first library I ever met that made noise..."

IC/Leon  

Mitfu., had stopped for a bit since; she saw a girl and her pets in front of her. Leon, sensing that she stopped, opened one eye and looked up. Of which from his position it would be looking forward, past Mitfuhlendes.
"well well well, lookeet we've here." He made a few whistling sounds, still laying comfortably on Mitfu.'s back. Mitfu, hearing Leon, walked along side the girl and her pets. Leon turned his head to look at the chick.
" So.. can i ask why you're out here? Not a good place for little girls, you could catch cold." He scratched his light five o'clock shadow And took the cigarette from his mouth, putting it out with spit on his fingers, and flicked it away. "You need a ride; M'am? "

[Freezair]

A large, bulky shape strode into the path of Leon. Her shoulders hulking up, her thick purple curls bouncing, Kyhorlet the sometimes-Cuniflare stepped in front of Freezair. Her fingers waved rhythmically, clenching into veiny fists at the end of each pulse. A line bulge along the sides of her sinewy biceps.

"Excuse me. Would you care to repeat that little comment about Freezy again?"

Freezair was torn between two states of mind. Outwardly, she was hunching her body and rubbing her shoulders, mumbling, "Oh, lordy, Ky, not now..." Inwardly, the slightly insecure blonde was thinking, I'm not THAT short, am I?

Kayneena, Rorygon, and Rocket tensed, but made no moves.

IC/Leon

Leon rolled his eyes sighing and frowning." Oh boy, oh boy.." he mumbled that soon faded away under his breath, rubbing the fuzz on his chin. It was quite a habit.."He has a gun, just so you know.."Nami was peeking out from Leon's pocket. He tried to hush her, before she said anything, moving with his hand and dunking her head down into his pocket, but it was too late."Now now.. Let's not get all huffy.. soon we'll have the candel that burns at both ends here.."
"..Whatever that means!!"
"..isn't that a 18th century saying?"Orion finally said. "....are you trying to say im old? I'll have you know; im in my prime!"
" An' how long ago was that?"Nami had pulled away Leon's hand. Leon shot Nami a narrow eye'd glare.

[Freezair]

Kyhorlet would not be deterred. If anything, she only became more adamant.

"A gun? Isn't that quaint. And the 'little girl' over here has a pair of magical gauntlets that'll disembowel you before you even get a chance to blink. So if anyone should be watching your step here, it's you, buster."

Sighing in the background, Freezair rolled her eyes. "Millay," she muttered.

"Hmm?"

"Millay. Edna St. Vincent Millay."

"Who?" Kayneena whispered back, cocking her crest.

"The poet Edna St. Vincent Millay. They're talking about her poem 'First Fig.' 'My candle burns at both ends / it will not last the night / But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends / it gives a lovely light."

"God, what a nerd," Rorygon hummed. Disconntectly, he added, "Kyhorlet better not get us killed."

"Oohh... Finally i've an INTELLIGENT human being in my sights."
He wasn't being scarcastic in anyway.
"So how come your -"
"Enough of you, Missy!" Leon Slienced Nami.

Kyhorlet peered down her nose at Leon. She sized up his statement.

With a grudging huff of approval, she stepped aside and let Freezair through.

The short, blonde woman caked with mud stepped forward. And embarrassed grimace twisted up her round face. "I apologize for Kyhorlet's behavior." She indicated the purple anthropomorphic Cuniflare. "She took a--what was it the people in this world called it?--A Vow of Obedience, I think. She considers it her job to serve me. Sometimes she gets a little--uh, overzealous."

Freezair raised her hands. At odds with her plain appearance, she wore a pair of smirchless white gloves. She removed them both before offering her right to shake. "Freezair Mistfield SilverEye is my Traveler's Callname, but most folks call me Freezair or Freezy. With me are Kyhorlet the Guardian, Kayneena the Dra--erm, Serraptor, Rorygon the Rollaby, and Rocket the, uh--erm--hey, Rocket buddy. What do they call your kind in these parts again?"

"Gorgeels," the slithery creature replied. His voice, although organic, sounded almost mechanical.

"Right. Forgive me. I'm still learning all the details."

He blinked. But too Freez.'s hand, shaking it firmly.
"Pleasure. M'name is Leon; Leon Saurez. This is Nami," he pat the Hyrdokunha's head. "Orion," He pointed to the common Draculi who was still in Leon's sweat shirt, "And Mitfuhlendes. Or Mit. for short." He scratched the Cavallion's mane.
"SO.. uh.." he looked at Freez.'a cloths. " ...do you want to stay at my place for a bit?" he finally sat up; and took out his badge from his pant pocket. "Imma detective; so you're safe with me.. ^__^;; I know it's kinda weird/scary for me to ask you that so early on."

Quick as a summer breeze, Kyhorlet sliced between Leon and Freezair. Her glower was ember-hot.

"Nice try, creep. Wanna try asking that again?" The curly-haired woman pushed her long sleeves back; a heavyweight boxer would've flinched at the sight of her muscles. Her fingers began to sway threateningly again.

"Ky, even if he is a creep, I don't think he'd try to take advantage of Freez with us around. Besides. She's got the Gauntlets." The marsupial tossed his head in the direction of the gloves in Freezair's fists. "Like you said. If that guy tries any funny stuff, he gets eviscerated."

Kayneena's first question was, "Do you have coffee?"

Freezair stuck her head around Kyhorlet. "Right. I appreciate the offer, but we're a little bit busy here. We're looking for the library that's supposed to be in the middle of this forest. It seems like a lousy place to keep books, if you ask me--too moist--but rumors are rumors, and any potential knowledge I can find, the better."

Rocket quietly nodded assent.

"it's alright.. Although it isn't in me to leave others.. succourless.."
"what!? Succo-.. The h*ll is that?!" Nami cut in.
"have you learned a different language when i wasn't looking?"
"You need to learn manners.." Orion said quietly.
"Thank you, Orion that was well said!" Leon rubbed the top of the draculi's head.
" I think Nami was 'born with a sliver spoon in her mouth' if you know what i mean" He looked to Freezair, ignoreing the spunky Cuniflare.
"So lemme get this straight..You're wandering around a potentially dangerous forest with no supplies,food, water or sleepingware?"Mitfuhlendes finally spoke, her voice sounded powerful and deep, but she spoke softly and calm.

[Freezair]

Freezair turned to Rorygon. "Rory?"

"Gotcha there."

The Rollaby flung himself down from Kayneena's back, the dark mud sucking around his wide feet. He felt down the front of his chest, looking for the small fold of skin there. His hands vanishing into his fur, he fished in the depths of his body pouch for the goods he'd ferreted away in there.

Several canteens came out first. A rolled-up bundle of waxy cloth that clattered with sticks. Vacuum-sealed packages containing crinkly cloth things. A number of waterproof snacks. A machete in a sheath. A compass. A sturdy tan box marked with a large red cross. Papery red tubes labled "CAUTION-FIRE HAZARD." A few containers of things only Rocket knew the use off.  

Looking down at the spread, Rorygon said smugly, "Ahh. I could never do that at home. I love this world!"

"We did prepare, mostly," Freezair said to Mitfuhlendes. "But we don't have a map. I guess that's pretty dumb. Plenty of food, plenty of water, tent and sleeping bags, and Ky here doesn't take up much space if she's in Kuhnaflare form. I don't know, can your little Water Cuni there make more water? We could use a bit more. Maybe we can stop at your place. You live around here?"

Kayneena was wincing. "Umm, Freezy..."

"She could." He looked to Nami. The HydroKuhna sighed.
"she's in a grumpy mood.But i don't have a map.. I do live around here though. Im getting older.. and the more older you get; the more you like the scenery.."
He had gotten off of the Cavallion and patted the saddle on her. "Do you want to ride her?"

[Freezair]

"Thanks, but I've never ridden anything resembling a horse in my life. I'd get so sore so fast, I'd probably collapse. Even if she can move faster than me, we'd probably have to stop so often, it'd take us longer anyway. Is it far to your house?"

"I'd give you a ride if I could, but I'm not built to carry anything heavier than--"

Kayneena was cut off by the sudden silent entrance of Kyhorlet. Without bidding or suggestion, she took the yelping Freezair up into her arms and slung her over her back. Posed like a backpack, the woman fell flat against Kyhorlet's back. Rocket gaped up at them, his broad mouth especially effective in conveying his surprise.

"Ky?"

"Don't worry about it."

"But Rorygon still has to pack all our stuff back up! Shouldn't you at least wait before..."

"You're not the heaviest thing I've ever carted a couple miles. Besides, I've got wind magic, remember? I can probably run just as fast as that Cavallion, even with you. Being Cuniflare doesn't hurt, either."
