This creature was fast, Archer had to admit to himself as they pursued it as silently as possible. It was also apparently quick despite its size, as he would have thought they would have caught it by now. So far it hadn't even stopped long enough to eat or check its surroundings, like it knew they were following. That made Archer smirk slightly, if it was smart enough to know this shouldn't it have attacked or at least run faster. No this thing was unaware of them, it just knew this area well enough to feel safe. That made it him wonder once more about it, could someone's pet know such a place so well? It was also likely that whatever this was, it was a type of shape-changer so really it was more a person than a beast.

As they continued Rin didn't risk speaking to him, she was terrified to alert whatever it was to their presence. Still she didn't know if they should be rushing behind it, it was still a real possibility that this was more dangerous than they'd thought. Carefully she pulled her bag up closer to her chest, in case something happened she could always use to book to try and defend them. That was a slim comfort to her, as Rin remembered that her father's book of spells hadn't been easy to use no matter what. In that way she was still a novice magus, new to these kinds of magics. In this world she still was sure how well her magic worked anyway, all things considered it so far hadn't done anything too far out of control.

Pushing aside the foliage as quietly as he could Archer suddenly found a clearing, in fact it looked like a once village more than even a clearing. Motioning for Rin to follow him, Archer held aside some of the massive leaves and allowed her to walk under his arm. Both marveled at this place, ruins of stone and some old wood looked back at them. Just on the other side of this abandoned settlement Archer saw the beast they'd tracked, it was nothing more than a smallish two legged reptile now munching on grass. With a sigh of disappointment he gave the area another look over, it wasn't much but none the less if creatures fed here something might turn up. He motioned her to follow once more as he made his way to a heap of stones, and sat down with a heavy drop.

Following behind him Rin was confused, she didn't understand what had just happened. "Did we lose it?" She asked him softly trying to figure out why he was suddenly in a mood again. When he only shook his head at her and pointed to small area of yearling trees, Rin saw what they'd been following. It wasn't an impressive beast, in fact it was watching them with a spooked expression like it might run if they moved again. Huffing he let his arm drop back down to his chest, his face a grim expression of disdain and anger. It took Rin everything she had not to laugh, knowing it would only upset him worse.

As they sat there, Archer began to wonder if this was going to get them anywhere. Waiting in a jungle in some unknown land, from a tactical standpoint it wasn't the smartest move they could make. After all this was a war, not like the wars he'd taken part in over the years but still a war. They were likely needed back at the camp, but he couldn't bring himself to get up. He wasn't going to be effective, let alone able to protect her, if he didn't know how his abilities worked in this world. This was not the war fought in some safe place with only combatants, this was in the world where anyone could get pulled in easily.

As the minutes turned into a half hour then an hour, Rin began to wonder what was going on with him. He didn't seem like he was even interested anymore, and it was starting to upset her. She hadn't come all the way out here just to end up sitting until after dark, "We need to either find something, or go back." She grumbled to him with a distant look. Nothing in her father's notes mentioned unmotivated beings, most of them had been through a few of the grail wars so this was unexpected. Still Rin wasn't going to tolerate his slacking off, and to show him she stood up and stretched a bit before giving him an expecting look.

He watched her stand, stretch, and then rest a fist on her hip as she glared at him. It was funny, too funny for him not to start laughing hard. As he tried to catch his breath from it Archer noted that she looked both surprised and angry at the same time, like she couldn't settle on which she wanted. It just made him laugh harder, doubling over a bit as he tried not to laugh anymore. It would take him several more seconds to get control of it, but when he did he wiped his eyes and shook his head at her. This woman was a small firecracker, not like his previous master in the least who were calm and cool headed.

As he sat there laughing Rin could feel her blood boil, he had so little respect for her that he was acting like a highschool boy. This whole thing, from summoning to ending up in this world was a complete disaster. Worse Rin knew was that there was no way to fix the problem, she couldn't send him back and she didn't know how to go home. She'd been trying to make the best of it, joining the war in this world with the hope that it might unbind him from the spell in one way or another. Right now though she debated just leaving him out here on his own and heading back for the camp, he deserved it after they way he was acting. She just wasn't sure she could find her own way back without him, that was why she stood there glaring at him instead of marching off.

Archer sighed as he noted her expression settling on anger finally, like she'd been insulted or something. He had to admit he didn't understand women in the least, why she was angry now was a complete mystery to him. "Sit down, we're just waiting for something to come along." He told her softly as he patted the stone once more for her. It wouldn't do for them to just go back without some idea of how he could fight in this world, after all he could only summon his twin blades. That could prove a problem if the enemy didn't want to get up close to him, as could his too "physical" feeling of his body. It slowed him down a lot, and that didn't make him very happy having to relearn to fight like this.

Refusing to give into his order Rin crossed her arms over her chest, "Oh you think you call the shots?" She growled at him with a dark glare, her voice as best controlled as she could keep it. When he continued to laugh Rin decided that she'd had enough, he couldn't take this seriously he might as well be useless to her. "I have never seen a servant act with so little respect." She told him as she turned to head back in the direction she thought they'd come from. She could hear Archer sigh at her back as she walked away, and obviously in the right direction given the lack of snide comments from him. She couldn't believe how something so simple three days before had ended in such a mess, but Rin swore she wasn't going to stand around and tolerate him just because the rules of their world didn't apply here.

How can you all even stand?
And why is there joy in this poison? Oh
Faking smiles and confidence
Driving miles to capture this excitement
I can't take anymore

You're never gonna get it
I'm a hazard to myself
I'll break it to you easy
This is hell, this is hell
You're looking and whispering
You think I'm someone else
This is hell, yes
I am in hell

As Rin crossed through the clearing Archer said nothing, a small point she was grateful for as she walked. It wasn't far back to the steep climbing path they'd taken down to this area, in fact filled with anger Rin found herself there faster than before. Quickly she began the climb up through the root choked path, muttering to herself about men and their ignorance as she went. Half way up out of sight of Archer and the clearing he was sitting in, she noticed the silence for the first time. No birds sang, nothing moved in the underbrush further up the hill. No matter what she couldn't turn around and go back down to Archer who would just laugh at her again, instead she pushed on ignoring her feeling about what might be ahead.

Several yards into the rainforest the two women stood silently, neither wanting to startle the rented Gyrraptor as they waited. It seemed though that the pair were having some sort of argument between them as the older woman tied the Gyrraptor to a fallen tree trunk before sighing and looking over to the younger. "All I'm saying Ylva, is that sometimes you let things get to you more than you should." To which the younger female gave an angry snort, before stomping away to check on some broken branches. The older woman sighed as she watched Ylva sniff at the area before moving slowly along the area of trampled down grass, completely ignoring Torva's words. On these days Torva realized siblings were a terrible pain to have, even if she wasn't angry with the other woman as much disappointed with the reaction.

Despite the fact that she hadn't answered her sister, Ylva wasn't ignoring Torva as the other might have thought. Circling the grassy area once she continued to sniff at it before stepping back and shaking her head, "Not the Purine, but it is somewhat familiar." She mostly said to herself than to her sister as she moved back towards the broken down path of foliage and small twigs. "Did you hear of scouting parties in this area, Torva?" The words snapped the other woman's head up, and cause Torva to come closer to her sister as she too tested the air for scent. Neither woman had much of a chance to think on it though, considering the high amount of magic in the area rendered the user's scent all but invalid. Looking over to her older sister Ylva shrugged slightly, indicating that she couldn't tell who the scent belonged to.

Torva was as baffled as her sister by the amount of magic in the area, while in her memory the rainforest was a place of mysterious creature it wasn't known for rouge magic users. Her guard up Torva merely shook her head no to her sister as she tried to figure out what sort of magic had left this residual effect in the area, behind her the tied beast stirred in a lazy manner indicating that nothing dangerous was in the immediate area of them. Then again Torva was all to aware how simple some beasts were, and likely this one simply didn't see the potential threat. Thankful that Ylva had followed the same thought and quickly had fallen into a defensive mode to her right and behind her, Torva probed at the magic carefully only to discover it dispensing harmlessly. As she allowed herself to relax a bit that the left over magic was harmless enough to vanish away, Torva couldn't shake the feeling that something more was out here.

So far while the magic field and the new scent had been a source of upset between the sisters, it was not in fact the purpose of their journey into this remote place. Ylva had lost interest in it all the moment she hadn't discovered any trace of their missing Purine captive, "We're in the wrong place." It wasn't so much a clarification as a simple statement to remind her sister why they were tromping through the brush. While Torva continued to investigate this strange event Ylva was more concerned with recapturing the prisoner and returning to camp before dark set in. When it became clear that her sister wasn't paying much attention Ylva snorted before going back up the trail to where the blood had been. After all a bleeding man wasn't going to get far out here, at least not without attracting the notice of a predator or two.
