Demeter had found herself in a deep jungle. It was wet and uncomfortable, her fur and feathers were sticky with the hot damp air around her. She loved nature, but preferred the beautiful pine forest she had never been to but had always known.
She had sensed something here, something she needed to find...

Demeter did not know why she had come to the Tengel Rainforest but the humans that had noticed her knew why they had come. They had come for her.

Demeter felt hot and noticed an appealing bromeliad flower filled with water. She dipped her head into the flower, unfortunately it blocked her view. The men, the men from Black Chimera, descended from the tree tops. They were one of the  D.A.C. Squads, Disable and Capture Squad. They were trained specifically to hunt down and capture the escaped members of the INCARNUS project and anyone who has been influenced by the Subtle Code.

Demeter twitched as they descended around her, trees and life burst from around her.
"Bring it on! Khimeran Scum!" she screamed as she whipped out from her point of rest. Unfortunately for Demeter, the Khimeran's knew she wasn't a true fighter, she was the docile bringer of life, and could not end any life, immoral or otherwise.

Demeter began to run but to no avail, the D.A.C. Squad had dealt with that contingency with aerial assistance. Demeter, being one of the oldest and most well researched Incarnations had little advantage over her enemies. She turned to fight only to see the one thing she feared most, they were using an innocent as a shield.
The Rollaby was held at the scruff of the neck with a pistol pointed at its young scull, it couldn't be more than a month or two old.
Demeter saw the man who most likely had concocted this scheme.
Dr. Fromand's rat of an assistant, Marty Pevert stepped out from behind the soldier with a sick smile on his face.
"You were always so compassionate my dear Theta....it will always be your greatest weakness. End It." he said with a grin.
The officer fired the pistol, killing the poor Rollaby instantly.
"What! WHY! WHY! YOU MONSTER!" screamed Demeter.

"I think you should be more worried about yourself." said Pevert with a wink.
Two shots were fired, one into the Tou-san's wing and the other into her foot. She cried out, it hurt so much, not as much as it hurt in her heart at the death of the baby Rollaby but it was still paralyzing.

"And if you think for one god-damned second I'll be content with only recapturing you, you have another thing coming. I will capture the others...and they will suffer as you will, aside from that thing Omega. It is far to powerful, it will be recycled and hopefully we can reverse engineer its power and create an army of your kind." Pevert said clenching his fists.

"Heh..heh..heh..ha..HA..HAHAHAHAHAHA!" said Demeter, laughing through the pain," You can't stop Valor. No one can. The Gods sent him to Evelon to destroy Black Khimera." Demeter stared at Pevert with an ominous glare," And he will Kill you. You will die by the hand of the bastards of Nature you have created Pevert, you and your pathetic master."

Pevert slapped the Incarnation,"Dr. Fromand is a genius  and will never die at the hands of mistakes like you."

"We'll see," she said with a smile.

Ptolemy Hargrave, PHD, was in the Tengel Rainforest collecting samples for a new medication he was working on when he heard shots fired.
"Poachers?" he asked himself,"There haven't been Poachers in this area for years..."

He made his way through the underbrush, trying to locate the source of the noise. He peered through a bush and saw it, many men in black suits talking to an injured Tou-san.
"A Tou-san? What would one of the Purities be doing out here?"
He saw the man slap the Tou-san across the face. Even the good Doctor knew that slapping a Tou-san was just not okay. He had to help in but how....the samples! When distiled and mixed with other herbs the Pronoxis Flower could be used in the reduction of cancer cells in cancer patients but in it's pure form the pollen agitated the skin, eyes, and sinus system of  those who inhaled it. Hargrave had built up a resistance to it from exposure and Tou-sans were immune to most naturally occurring allergens.

Hargrave sprayed the purple pollen into the air and the troopers began to hack, cough  and gag uncontrollably. Pevert was also caught in the distraction. Through the cloud of pollen Hargrave made his way to Demeter.
"Come with me! I'll get ya outta here!"

Demeter had to go with the man, he was better than the Khimerans. Ptolemy took the injured creature to his truck and put her in the truck bed and sped off into the distance.
"My name is Ptolemy Hargrave. It is nice to meet you."

"My name," she responded,"Is Demeter."
