Yamaha/Rae

 The sound of squabbling burst free from behind a bush as two creatures entered Tengel Rainforest. One of them, a Hydrokuhna, a female to judge by the way she carried herself and her voice, was speaking. "You never told me that there was danger here! You said we could just - just waltz in and find a Moonling for Lea, and be out again!"
 "I thought we could, okay?" The other, a Common Kuhna, a male, looked a bit overwrought and angry. "Don't you want to try at least? For Lea? Please, Yamaha?" He stopped and glanced back at her hopefully, his eyes begging her.
 "Stop it, Rae! I will come! For Lea, and because you know I can't let you go alone." Her tails lashed in agitation and her emerald eyes glittered with half-disgust and half-anticipation.
 They wandered aimlessly about for a while, blundering around. Finally, Rae broke the silence. "Y' know? I've been thinking, I wonder if anyone else's here? I mean, everyone's looking for a Moonling, aren't they? I can't believe we're the only ones."
 "Neither can I." Yamaha twitched her tail nervously. "Do you know what Moonlings like to eat?"
 "Er - no." Rae shifted his weight awkwardly, and twined one of his tails around one of Yamaha's. "Don't worry about it. I promise we'll be okay."
 She laughed derisively. "I never said I was worried."
 Rae chose to ignore this; he sat down abruptly. "Let's rest a bit and eat, what do you say?" he offered. "I'm hungry."
 "You're always hungry." Yamaha sat down, too, nonetheless, and from the small pack she was carrying, she produced a few lumps of roast meat of some sort. They ate hungrily and reclined onto the soft soil and moss. Curled up together, Yamaha, the warmth of the rainforest and the fullness of her stomach, dozed off first. Rae lost his struggle to remain awake shortly after and he too fell asleep...

[Elly]

The deliberately gentle, yet fast steps of a Imperial Garudor in her prime made barely any sound on the forest floor. Relaxed eyes, resembling topaz, peered out from behind the mask-like, bony face adornment that all Garudor were known to have. Three long scratch marks zipped down her left side, looking as if they were from another bird of about the same size. Thorn's wound seemed to only have just ceased bleeding, and she plainly was favoring that side. She looked a bit awkward, limping like that, but it was excusable compared to the sleek Garudor's proud stance. The marks had been left by Nexus, a rather unhospitable Chaos Magistrey male and long-time enemy of Thorn. A small, reptillian hiss emanated from her closed beak at the thought. She seemed to be acting cautious, but in reality she wasn't quite paying attention to the ground before her. And when she came near the Kuhnas, she almost stumbled right on top of them. She was pretty close, and they were lucky for being so colorful. Garudors aren't exactly small. Noticing her mistake, she shuffled back a few feet, bending her head down to the height of the sleeping Kuhnas. She tilted it in curiosity. They were plainly asleep, but she continued watching them. It wasn't often she saw them, Ellen-- her owner-- (me. 8D) didn't own any. Thorn continued watching, oblivious to the fact that they might wake up. Or something.

Yamaha and Rae

Yamaha woke abruptly without knowing quite why she woke. For a split second she was unaware of where she was, before remembering the reason for their coming to Tengel Rainforest. She yawned and roused, disentangling herself from Rae. Suddenly she froze, staring in utter astonishment and surprise at the Imperial Garudor in front of them, studying them with the same look Yamaha was aware of giving her. She unglued her jaw. "Um..." Her voice was high and scared.
Rae, next to her, mumbled something about Lira and Cat, the Honeydew and the Ursice who shared their home, before subsiding. Yamaha's tails flicked in agitation and she kicked Rae into wakefulness. He gazed blearily at her before realizing there was another creature nearby. Jumping up, he gazed at the Garudor steadily, placing himself deliberately in front of Yamaha. "May I ask your name?" he asked in a strangely tight voice, "And your reason of coming here?"

[Elly]

The Garudor was a bit embarassed. She hadn't meant to wake them. Perhaps Kuhna were light sleepers. She lifted her head and stepped back, bowing it respectfully and shifting her wings a bit. "Er, hello. My name is Thorn--" she bowed quickly before looking up again, "-- and I seem to have accidentally stumbled upon you. My apologies." She then glanced to the Hydrokuhna, and smiled in a friendly, apologetic way. "I am very sorry for frightening you." The Imperial stood there a few seconds. "And, ah, what would be your names?" Thorn was speaking the kindest way she could, aware of her somewhat intimidating appearance. The Garudor smiled as best a creature with a beak could, and watched the two Kuhnas silently, awaiting their response.

Rae relaxed and let Yamaha come out from behind him. "I'm Rae," he said, "And this is my sister, Yamaha - we're looking for Moonlings. Have you seen any?"
Shyly, Yamaha added, "I don't mind that you've come upon us. I know I probably wouldn't have noticed two sleeping Kuhnas in a forest of this size!" She smiled nervously.

[Elly]

Thorn nodded to Yamaha and looked to Rae. "Moonlings? Quite nasty creatures, they are. But I haven't seen a glimpse of one yet. Sort of thankful for it." She may not know a lot about Kuhnas, but she'd spent enough time around Tengel Rainforest to know that a Moonling wouldn't just skip out and shake the hand of a searcher. "Good luck, though. If you want, I can help you find one."

An glacial Match was flying about. She was moving quick for an match for fear of being cuaght. She flew away from her owner and felt the wind against her flaming wings. The only thing that would stop her from leaving her crazy human was giant Evelon creatures. Her collar was the only thing that showed she was a pet. She looked away for an split second to end up flying right into a gaint Impreial Garudor. As the Match fell onto the ground. It opened its eyes feeling its head ache from hiting the gaint bird. It gave a cry or a scream it was hard to tell. It quickly picked itself up and went toward Rae.

Yamaha glanced around surreptitiously. "I did hear they were nasty," she said, an accusing tone in her voice directed at Rae. "But our owner wants one, so we'll get her one. I guess. Maybe. Hopefully."
Rae twitched his whiskers, amused, at her, but he directed his voice to Thorn. "We would be glad for that help. Thank you." And then he was biting back laughter as the tiny Match flew into Thorn. "Hullo, who're you?" he asked it serenely, wondering that it wasn't afraid of him or Yamaha.
 "Lost?" Yamaha asked it curiously.

Frost

A small Cake Kuhna fell face-forward onto the ground and picked herself up, her normally peaceable pink eyes indignant. "You two are the absolute end!" she snapped, glaring at Rae and Yamaha, totally unaware of the Garudor and the Match also occupying the area. "You're lucky I persuaded Lea to let me come help you, instead of her leaving her job and everything to come find you! Do you know how worried we've been?"
Yamaha looked surprised and said, tipping her head to one side curiously, "Where's Quill?" (reference to Arkuhna, another of my pets)
"He's painting, like he always is - is it such a surprise I've come looking for you?" The Cake Kuhna sighed, energy suddenly draining from her. She flopped forlornly onto the ground. "What're you here for anyway?"
Rae stepped up. "We're looking for Moonlings, Frost; have you seen any?"
"Why on Evelon would you look for one of those?" Frost demanded, looking shocked. "Do you know what they eat? Kuhna kits! And if they gang up they could eat - they could eat one of us!"
"I didn't know that," Rae said, determinedly avoiding Yamaha's gaze. "Well - we thought Lea might want one-"
"I think she'd want it more if you weren't dead getting one," Frost answered sharply. She turned to Thorn and the Match and bobbed her head respectfully. "Nice to meet you. I hope I haven't put you off, yelling at Rae and Yamaha like this - but they do deserve it. I'm Frost. Nice to meet you."

[Elly]

Thorn was a bit taken aback by the small avian that had flown directly into her chest, but smiled at it nonetheless. She snickered before turning to the Cake Kuhna. "Yes, well, I do believe you're right in everything you said. This forest isn't the best place for two Kuhna, Moonlings here or not. Thinking that makes me glad I came across them." She bowed (again) and introduced herself. "Please to meet you as well. My name is Thorn." She glanced down to look at the Match. "Say, you seem to be in quite a rush. What is the problem?" She eyed the small collar. This one wasn't wild, for sure, and she couldn't see why such a small, vulnerable bird was out and abroad. Thorn glanced around curiously. No sign of the Match's owner anywhere. She frowned a bit, but said nothing else.

"Nice to meet you, Thorn," Frost offered, before rounding again on Rae. "See? Who knows what might've happened to you, if Thorn hadn't found you? You were asleep, weren't you?" she added, eyeing the little hollow in the soft dirt.
Rae looked uncomfortable, but didn't deny it; Yamaha said staunchly, "No one could've overtaken us. Maybe you've forgotten, Frost, but I can fly, despite my watery appearance." She seemed as surprised by her outburst as Rae and Frost were. As a rule, Yamaha was quite shy. But then, Frost was normally much more sweet and calm, too.
"It's this forest," Frost said, reading their thoughts. "It makes us act...strange." Her tails flicked in agitation. "Lucky Quill's not here or he'd be painting it." She giggled, her true nature showing through, before she turned to the tiny Match. According to everyone elses' reactions, this too was a newcomer. She frowned. "What on Evelon are you doing here without your owner?" she asked kindly. Didn't this Match know of what dangers lurked in Tengel Rainforest?
"We just asked that," Rae said, not a bit put off.
"Well, anyway," Frost shrugged, "I'm going back to Lea - she'll want to know you nitwits aren't dead. Yet," she added meaningfully as she stalked away.

( It doesn't seem like she's going to return just yet... bleh. I'll post. )

Thorn waved to Frost with one wing before tucking it against her side. "I assume this, ah, Lea, is your owner, correct?" The question was directed to Rae and Yamaha, obviously. Besides the Match, they were the only ones around who'd actually spoken at all AND hadn't left for one reason or another. It remained quiet for a moment. Suddenly, the feathers on her neck lifted up as she sensed an unrecognizable presence. She turned her head to peer within the bushes, a practiced golden eye looking for a glimpse of skin, feather, fur, or scales. A blue glow met them in return. She smiled a bit. A Temple Yonyuu emerged, pale blue eyes glinting and watching Thorn, as well as the two Kuhna. Thorn turned to face him and bowed a bit. "Hello, Spectre..." The Yonyuu only watched her before walking calmly up to her side, sitting down and looking down upon the Kuhna. The Garudor dipped her head and turned to Rae and Yamaha. "This is Spectre, he lives with my owner Ellen as well as some other residents. We, as well as a Slynx I barely know, are more for exploring than staying in one place. He came to this forest with me, but I ended up getting seperated from him. I was looking for him when I saw you, actually."

The match was token back at the gaint creature talking to her. She said softly"Well, I'm running. Eer..flying.. My naem is Silvermist. The reason I am flying away of your wonder is because my owner doesn't care for me!" Silvermist was amazed how confident she sounded. For right now she wanted to hind behind the gaint cat creature that asked who she was.
