Finally, Chime turned, feeling like her heart was in her throat. She felt Ochite's eyes on her back as she stood and began to put things out of reach of the rain. When she turned back to him, she realised he had moved to a part of the clearing that had a thicker canopy, but had not stopped watching her. She winced and quickly turned around again, prodding the long-since extinguished fire with a stick. Then she felt him standing behind her.
"What's wrong?" he asked, making Chime wince. She shook her head. "Nothing." she whispered, trying to focus on prodding the fire pit.
"You're crying." his voice sounded half concerned, half sad. Chime froze, then reached up to her cheek. Sure enough, a steady torrent of tears was comming from her eyes. She started to shake her head again and move away when suddenly, Ochite pulled her against his chest. "Are you sure you're alright?" he whispered in her ear. She hesitated, then nodded nervously. She hoped he hadn't noticed, but he did and pulled away with a rejected sigh. Putting his hands on her shoulders, he spun her around and gazed into her eyes. Those eyes are still so sad. He thought as he attempted a smile. "I understand, and if you ever need my help, just come find me...I owe you." he added the last part hesitantly, and Chime knew why now. She still noticed one detail though. "Come find you?" she asked. He nodded. "I should go." he murmured, and turned to leave.
"No!" He turned as he heard Chime shout. She figeted nervously, then ran towards him. "I'll go with you." she said, smiling half-heartedly. Her heart fluttered as she saw his face light up and a smile on his lips. I've never seen him smile like that before...I like it. She smiled at her thoughts and followed him obediantly into the forest, pausing to scoop up a bag under a plant. Ochite didn't bother to ask why she had a bag already packed.
You can pretend that when you hear my voice, darling, it's your choice not to fall in.
But it's all an act, 'cause I know exactly what you're wanting. You know it's what I'm wanting
Boy I know what you desire, oh, you're such a bad, bad liar
This could be perfection, or venom dripping in your mouth
Singing like a Siren, love me while your wrists are bound
