Lance feigned a look of great horror. "No swimming? I can't imagine my life without swimming." He grinned and flopped over on his back, sighing as he felt the water lap over his body. The gentle gurgling of the water soothed him, and he would have fallen asleep if Cujo wasn't there. He grinned up at her and said, "So, tell me darlin', do you have a sweetheart from wherever you came from? A boyfriend or somethin'?"

She was now floating, relatively still for the first time since she got in the pond. She loved how cool the water felt, she had always loved the cold. "No, I don't." She answered with a smile. "What about you?"

"Unfortunately, no," Lance laughed, doing lazy backstrokes. "Last time I had a girlfriend was - maybe a year ago?" He chuckled. "It's hard on this lonely ole heart," Lance crooned, pretending to be heartbroken now. He grinned at Cujo, flipping back on his stomach and wading over to her. "Hello," he said, lazily floating in the water beside her.

She laughed. "Hi." She moved so she was on her back floating next to him, looking up into the sky. "I haven't dated anyone in quite a while." She shrugged. "I guess I'm used to it." She chuckled.

"Women have it easy," Lance sighed, stirring the water with a lazy paw. "They just stand there looking pretty, and then guys fall like flies for 'em." He floated on his belly now, chin propped up on his paws, looking up at Cujo with wide green eyes. "You don't have a boyfriend? Shame. I thought you were pretty enough to have all the guys smitten for ya, not just me."

[Carlie]

Cujo smiled. "I dunno, I don't think it's much different for guys. Maybe the women just...don't like to admit it?" She turned her head sideways so she was looking at him and smirked. "Thanks. You're not exactly bad looking either." She grinned.

"Oh, thank you. I like to think that I have a certain...rugged quality." Lance said, playfully flicking the tuft of fur from his face and giving a charming smirk. He gave a few laps around the small pond, smiling as he felt the water lap against his cheeks. "D'you have any brothers and sisters back where you came from?" He asked.

[Carlie]

Cujo smiled. "I had two brothers and a sister...haven't seen them in ages, thought." She answered. It had been a rather long time since she had seen any of her family. "What about you?" She was still comfortable floating in the same place.

"I have an older brother, lives in Medicai. Haven't seen him since I was a babe. I have the sweetest younger sister, too, just a little blue ball with giant green eyes. I do spoil her." Lance chuckled, doing another restless lap around the pond. "I don't like staying at my house, though. I just wander around a bit 'til my money or luck runs out, and then I come back and spend a bit o' time with my family. My parents dread the days I come back, 'cause then I make a mess outta everythin'. It's real fun, though."

[Carlie]

"Yeah, I don't see my family much...or ever." She chuckled. "I mean, my brothers and sister are alright, but I never really got along with my parents. There's a human that gives me a place to stay when I need it, although I don't stay there that much either. Wandering is more fun." She smiled, swimming around a bit now.

Lance laughed. "Amen to that, sister." He flipped underwater, did a twirl, and then popped up somewhere near Cujo, several water fronds sticking to his head. He blew them out of his eyes and grinned. "How many places have you been? I've only been to some cities and towns, like the Jawan and Nabias. This is actually my first time being in a place without much civilization."

Cujo considered the question, thinking about where she had been. "I've been a lot of places in Lambastia, but this is one of the only places I've been Barraka. I heard about the moonlings and had to come here." She grinned. "I kinda like it here."

_{"Yeah, I like it here, too, but I'm starving. Y' didn't happen to bring a bit o' coffee or a muffin, did you?" Lance asked, peeling the reeds from his fur. He clambered out of the pond, shook himself off, and sniffed around for a stalk of berries or something. The air was warming up, and the rain had subsided, though he couldn't yet see the sun from behind its curtain of gray clouds.}

Cujo shook her head no. "Yeah, that sounds so good right now." She said as she swam over to the side. She climbed out and shook herself off, splashing Lance a bit in the process. She looked over at him and laughed. "Sorry."

Lance shook his head of the water that Cujo splashed on him. "Whoo! If I wasn't so hungry I'd totally get back at you for that," he said, giving Cujo a roguish grin. "I'm watching you," he said playfully, then sniffed the ground. "I had a pack of food - had a bit of bread, a canteen of milk, a chunk of salami, a few slices of ham and a bit of honey stashed away in a cave somewhere. Dunno where it is from here, though," Lance said, sitting on his haunches and thoughtfully peering at the cloudy sky.
