Alexa thought for a moment.  What of her family was around that could meet Validus, anyhow?  Lennox was away with his second-youngest daughter, and Aeragorn was in Jawan with their mother... who else was there...?

"Well... me might not be my full-brother, but I know that my brother, Galen, is around.  I could try to get a hold of him and see if he could come..." She said, thinking.  "And I'd absolutely love to meet your family anytime." She added, smiling.

A half brother or something, huh? That worked. Validus' only full sibling was his brother, whom he'd never met. Truth be told, it was surprising that he was even aware that he had a brother, seeing as his father worked so hard to keep his family either tight knit or unknown to the others. Anyone that didn't live with him wasn't often considered part of the family. "I don't have any full siblings, really." Basically, it was to say that he didn't mind at all if the member of her family he met was only partially related to her. "But family is family, blood or no."

"As for my family, I'm sure someone can make time to meet you." He smiled, before looking around. They were pretty much in the middle of no where, both with large hang gliding equipment. He released his arms that he held around her, all save for a hand, which he clasped in his own without thinking. "We'll have to figure out how to get out of here first..."

Alexa smiled as she said, "True, true; it is hard, though, trying to remember all of your half-brothers and half-sisters and who is related to you in what way through whom sometimes... I've given up trying to track most of my family outside of those I see often enough." After a moment, though, she said, "Yeah... first thing's first, let's find our way out of here." She looked around, only subconsciously noticing the hand that was still holding hers.

"More effort than I make." Only those he lived near were tracked and recalled.

Abruptly, he pulled out a black and silver cell phone from one of his pockets. "Where do you wanna go from here? Or where would you like to drop the equipment off?" He could call in some favors, in order to make this trip easier. From here, he didn't know how they'd manage to get back to the city. Likewise, she probably didn't know how either. It wouldn't be easy to climb back up the cliff they dove from, that's for sure.

"It would definitely be nice to drop off this equipment somewhere.  It would make the trip back a lot easier." She said.  "I have no idea where we are, or how we get back... I suppose we should have gotten some rock climbing gear as well." This, of course, was meant jokingly.  She didn't quite fancy climbing back up the cliff, but if they had to, she could go along with it.

"Oh, it'll be quite simple..." He held up the cell phone as if doing so would eleborate on what he was getting at. "Favors can be pulled to get us out of here without any effort on our part. I just need to know a destination for us first..." It was one of the many benefits, living in a home with several mages, one of them was bound to know the art of teleportation. In fact, if he recalled correctly, at least three of them did. Sadly, he wasn't one of them.

Alexa thought for a moment.  Where to go, where to go... she tapped her chin as she thought, closing her eyes and racking her brain for an answer.  Finally, she got an idea as a faint grumble came from her stomach.  "Know of any restaurants or cafes?  I'm afraid I don't know of many, being more of a desert-training girl." She said, a faint blush creeping into her cheeks.

Validus chuckled a bit when her stomach growled; that was a good answer. Despite his amusement, he smiled at Alexa, so she knew he wasn't making fun of her, the perfect timing of her stomach was just funny. Honestly, she looked cute with that hint of rosy color in her cheeks.

The cell phone was flipped open and to his ear within seconds of dialing. 'Ring, ring, ring,' he heard on the other line before the recipient picked up. "Kay, are you busy?" he spoke into the phone. "It's Validus... Yes." There were pauses between his speaking, presumably when the other person was talking back to him. "Yes... Off of Lamenolai....The Cafe...Yes, that one... Thank you, M'lady." And 'Click' he hung up the phone and put it away again.
He turned to Alexa."Good news. I know just the place and we don't have to walk."

Alexa smiled as she said, "That's good to hear!" Sure, she was curious as to who was on the other end of the line, but after a moment, she shook her head, dislodging a piece of her silver-blondish hair and letting it fall into her face.  She was getting a little bit hungry, so that made the timing of everything either ironic or perfect... or coincidental.

Within just moments, something strange began to happen before them. The first sign was the air began to suck into one location, spiraling around. It couldn't be seen, but the rush of air it caused to brush against them was enough proof to show something was indeed happening. Then a split in reality formed, in the appearance of a black spiraling void large enough to swallow them up. It's sudden appearance didn't off put Validus at all, no, he expected it. "Here's our...ride," he declared, letting go of Alexa's hand only to go retrieve his equipment. "All we have to do it step through," he continued. Then, it all in hand, he waited, to see just how Alexa reacted to it.

"Ladies first? I can assure you that nothing bad will happen."

Alexa's eyes widened at the appearance of the "portal", her jaw also dropping a slight bit.  She, too, grabbed her equipment, and then, after a moment, she said, "Okay..." One could tell that she was new to the idea of teleporting, and therefore was the tiniest hint unsure of herself as she stepped into the portal, letting herself be sucked into it.

Just as he expected, she'd never traveled in this way before. His being a mage, it was probably best that she got used to some of the oddities soon, for her own benefit.
After Alexa stepped through, Validus followed. The opening closed up behind him, and the two were spit out at another destination, through another small rip in the fabric of space. Though 'spit out' wasn't quite the best term of use, since they just appeared, standing in the middle of the sidewalk, like nothing had happened. The exit had closed promptly behind them. There stood before them quite the cafe. "Perhaps one of the best ways to travel. One of the fastest, no doubt," he chimed in, looking at his female companion with curiosity. "In no time at all, here we are." He gestured to the building, knowing full well this one was...special.

Alexa brushed a few strands of hair back as the portal closed, her eyes wide with shock.  "Indeed... that is a fast way to travel." She said, recalling the long walk from Wilt'no to Idalani, and then to here at long last.  Now that she thought about it, she wished she had known some Mages in those situations.

"Well... shall we go in?" Alexa asked, smiling as she wondered what might be so special about the cafe.
