Hecate sees the symbol above his head and is able to translate it. "He says his name is Vastra. He thanks you for his food and that he likes your cooking. I'll over look the fact that your giving away free goods again, since he is an endangered linage." Hecate looks over at Devany, who is staring at Vastra open mouthed "Do pick your jaw up the floor, I'm sure Vastra thinks you look silly."  She turns her attention back to Vastra and jingles out My name is Hecate and this is Devany. She owns this shop. I am a priestess at a temple your kind used to visit...Where did you all go? I had heard rumors that civil war had... she struggled to think of the word killed everyone.

Devany closes her mouth and attempts to stammer out a sentence. "He... he....j..just  made a symbol pop out of nowhere. That is so COOL!" She grabs onto Hecate's arm "Could you ask him about who he is and why he's here and do all his family members have such pretty fur patterns?" Devany blushes a bit at the last question. She still loved Cay, but she had never met anyone so handsome in her life.

Vastra's heart leapt with happiness as she sounded out his name. Oh, it sounded so interesting in the human tongue! He opened his mouth slightly, as if wanting to emulate her, then closed it quickly as she began talking to him again. He squinted slightly at their names, and slowly tried to sound them back out to her. Heck... ate? And Deaf-any? Well, at least he was trying. He blinked his eyes wide at the mention of the temple, before his expression fell at her next words. I myself know little of what happened to my ancestors. I'm afraid I can't help you there. But I believe it is my fate to learn of what happened, and if I can, attempt to right some wrongs. I'm unsure how to do that, though, he added, picking up another pastry and nibbling on it. He glanced over at Devany, his eyes sparkling slightly with amusement at her rapid fire talking that he couldn't understand. What is she saying? he asked Hecate, biting into the pastry, his tails wagging slightly with pleasure at the taste.

Hecate smiles at Vastra If the powers at be wish it, you will find it. I will ask our head priestess to bless you on your journey. Hecate sighs and rolls her eyes Devany would like to know more about you, what kind of things you like and she would like you to know she likes your fur colors. Hecate turns her head to Devany "There I told him what you said." Although, she had found that last comment slightly inappropriate, it was Devany who asked not her. "He is here to learn about his people's past, because he knows little about them or their history."

Devany blushes slightly. She had never been that forward before, but who knows when she would be able to see him again. She hoped that Vastra wouldn't think that she was only being nice because he was handsome. Devany felt a little sorry for Vastra that he didn't know much about his family. She hadn't been able to find her mom until she was fifteen, so she knew how painful it was to not know your family.

Vastra's eyes widened a little at Hecate's offer. Oh, I would love to meet the head priestess! he said, nodding his head. He blinked at Devany's words, and he seemed to blush a little bit, sheepish. This coloring is natural to those of my people... save for the elders, who I've only met in... He trailed off here, expression falling as if he was realizing he should stop talking, and then picked up again with a new smile. Seen them in pictures and drawings. But... thank you, he said, looking back at Devany and nodding.

What kinds of things I like...? He'd never really considered it before. Mm... What sort of things do you mean? His existence was far removed from these other creatures'. He did not know originally of food or the like, but... I... enjoy the feeling of touch, he said contemplatively, tilting his head towards the ceiling. Perhaps it sounded odd, but he seemed earnest about it. And I enjoy singing. And these things, he added, tapping a pastry with his paw and smiling.

Hecate smiles at Vastra, she had caught the pause in his talking about his communications with the elders of his kind but she doesn't push it. There was surely a reason for his unwillingness to talk about it. I'm sure she would love to meet you too. She was always the first to greet your kind when they would come since it was considered such a high honor. I'm sorry if Devany's comment embaressed you she's normally not that forward.

After Vastra finishes listing off listing the things that he likes Devany tugs on Hecate's arm "Hey, what's Vastra saying?" Hecate looks down at Devany with a smile, the girl was acting like a kit on Christmas morning. "He appreciates the comment and he says that all his family, except for his elders. He enjoys contact with others, singing, and your pastries." Devany has a huge smile on her face. She always loved being able to share her joy of cooking with others. "I'm so glad he likes them, he's always welcome back for more."

Vastra seemed to glow slightly with a kind of sheepish pride for his own people. This priestess could certainly prove helpful on his mission... He blinked at Devany's smile and laughter, and his heart warmed with happiness, a kind of white aura radiating from the symbols on his tails. It seemed he'd made these people happy... ah, what a lovely feeling. He reached for one more pastry and ate it while the other two chattered on, nibbling on the food for a moment. Your language is interesting, he said as he chewed, given he didn't need his mouth to speak. I've always sort of wanted to learn it.

I know that I can speak for both myself and for Devany that if you are willing to learn, we would be happy to teach you. Hecate flutters over to Vastra and pats him on the shoulder. She really did like this Vastra fellow and she hoped that he would become a frequent visitor in their realm of existence.

Devany watches in amazement as Vastra starts to glow again. This guys was just out of this world. She didn't even fathom that something like him could exist less than an hour ago and now here she was staring at a glowing chiming ... Vastra creature (she wasn't quite sure what to call him since Vastra was so unique). The things someone could experience in their life never ceased to amaze her.
