Samael didn't blink as Allovera stood up, only stared straight ahead, the gears in his mind spinning behind his eyes. Hmm. This could be interesting. Samael had certainly had enough of schmoozing for one day. Time for these mortals to know their place. Slowly, Samael stood up, holding up a hand. "We're not finished speaking," he said, his voice laden down with a bored sigh.

At his words, a wall of shadow rose up, blocking the exit of the alleyway like a solid black wall, not letting Allovera escape. The other shadows in the alleyway shifted, beginning to darken and tremble as Samael considered the girl, his violet eyes glittering in the dim light. The alleyway was a dead end, the only sunlight beginning to creep up the back wall as time ticked towards sunset. Samael smiled at the trapped girl, putting his hands in his pockets. "I think I'll chalk your rudeness to the fact that you don't have a proper family to teach you. And I do wish you would answer my question. It would make this so much easier. Unless... you want to be toyed with. Then I'm happy to oblige." Samael smiled, a wolfish quality to his expression, and a dark chuckle bubbled up out of him. Yes, this was much more interesting.

Considering she hadn't been looking, it came as no surprise when the girl literally bumped right into the wall of roses as it sprung up. She yelped a little from the hit, taking a few steps back, her head ringing from the sudden hit. "Wh... what the?" She rubbed her head with both hands, and only when she looked right ahead did she realize the exit from the alleyway was sealed.

She turned to face the stranger as he continued to talk to her, even though she'd made it clear she wanted nothing to do with him. Still, as cocky and reckless as she could be, this situation was making her nervous. She'd had people going after her because of her origins, but she usually wasn't alone when it happened. But right now, she had no protection, and no one to defend her from this leech that wouldn't even let her leave the alleyway.

She returned to the wall, and although her face was still defiant, she didn't sound nearly as confident as before. "Psh, look who's talking. I don't have to answer you anything," she whispered, though her heart was beating faster and faster. Who was he to talk about being rude when he was the one who'd claimed someone else's property as his own? "Who are you, anyway? What's it to you, what I am?" She subconsciously tried to push herself towards the wall more, hoping the close the gap between her and that stranger — who, by now, was definitely not human — but that was pointless, considering she as close to the wall as she possibly could be. Unless she could slip through solid matter, she wouldn't be going anywhere.

Samael made a thoughtful noise at that, looking up at the sky as he thought. "That's a very vague question. Who are we, really? Identity and personality is just a construct created by the mind, and eventually our bodies will all turn to dust. But you don't strike me as the type of girl who is interested in philosophy." Samael chuckled, amused by his own words. Taking a few steps forward, Samael considered Allovera, watching as she pressed up against the shadows. It was like watching a mouse in a trap. "My name, if that's what you're after, is Samael. I'm not from around here. Now please do me the courtesy of telling me yours?"

The girl frowned at Samael's words, raising an eyebrow at him. What was he going on about, now, about identity and personality and some other babble or other? No, granted, she wasn't much one for philosophy, and it was true that she certainly didn't care much for it when a wall of roses prevented her from leaving an alleyway. Especially when that alleyway contained some sort of inhuman being that had gotten a weird fancy for her.

She subconsciously withdrew a bit when he approached her, her head sinking between her shoulders. He kept on coming closer, and admittedly, she didn't really like that. She also didn't like that he was now expecting a name from her, since he'd given her his own. She gritted her teeth, but in the end, she figured he wouldn't really go far with just her name, either way. "Allovera," she told him through gritted teeth, but she didn't look like she wanted to cooperate any further than that. "Care to let me go now, Samael?"

Samael tilted his head, searching his mind for any other Allovera's he knew. Allovera... Like the plant? A laugh burst out of the demon at that thought, and he stared with delight at the angry girl who had a name like a plant. "But this is already so much fun, isn't it?" he sighed, putting his hands on his hips. "I don't care to let you go yet, my dear. You're interesting, so I want to continue my game for as long as possible. Since you asked a question, it's my turn. What on earth are you? You're leaving me on tenterhooks!"

Allovera raised an eyebrow when Samael started to laugh when she told him her name. Oh, hahah, he probably thought of the plant. Like everyone else who had heard her name before. Yeah, he wasn't the only one who had made the connection. Yes, yes, it was very funny. She rolled her eyes, because even if he weren't laughing at her name, he was probably laughing at something else that was equally not as funny as he made it seem.

"What?" She frowned at him, finding his sense of entitlement to be beyond skewered. "What about if I don't care to 'play'?" she asked him, crossing her arms and turning her head, though she was still glancing at him. "I pass," she answered to his question, because she had no intention to answer him. She'd been warned to avoid mentioning her origins as much as possible, because she was stuck between a rock and a hard place when it came to that topic. Revealing what she was to just any stranger could be fatal, and considering Samael's game right now, Allovera had no interest in divulging that information to him.

"Then you won't leave. It's very simple, dear, you should pick up on the rules very quickly." Samael smirked, then leaned back against the brick wall of the alleyway. Leaning down, he brushed his hand against the shadows on the wall, and picked it up as if the shadows themselves were made of fabric. Sifting the darkness in his hands, Samael looked back up at Allovera, a smug look on his face. "Next question. Who made such a poor, sweet, innocent girl like you cry?"

Allovera slowly glared at Samael, gritting her teeth, and those canines showed again. She looked around her, trying to prove that stupid demon wrong by finding an escape route. The thing was that there wasn't any: the cul-de-sac was much too high for her to scale or jump over, and the two buildings that encased them didn't have any doors or windows on their sides. Of course they didn't.

She made a low growling noise at the realization that she was now stuck in this stupid game of his. No, really, why was he sticking around?

She observed him quietly, watching as he picked up the shadows in his hands as if they were just fabric. Certainly not something she could do... but she did have powers of her own. She passively wondered if startling him or knocking him down, even if for a split second, would be enough to get rid of that wall that blocked the exit of the alleyway. At this point, this was the only other option she had.

If she wanted to build up the power and the energy to do what she wanted, though, she would have to stall him; and the only way to do that was to answer his stupid questions. "You sure changed your tune," she pointed out, picking up on his sweet words even though he'd literally called her rude earlier. "Tsk... Someone I've known for a long time," she eventually answered to his question, and to her, that was good enough, because that was the truth. The one who'd made her cry was someone she'd known for a very, very long time. And that was all he needed to know.

Samael watched Allovera like a cat watches a mouse, a smug look on his face. Was she trying to figure out a way to escape? How cute. Maybe she would, and that would definitely prove him wrong. No, no. That would just make the game more interesting. At Allovera's pointed words, Samael rolled his eyes dramatically. "It's called lying, my dear. Lying, with a heavy dose of insincerity. It's how all the good con artists do it. How long is a long time?"

Allovera frowned at his words, equally unimpressed by his attitude. She was also bothered by the way he was trying to use his questions to get to spill the beans. What was she supposed to say? A century or so? No human lived that long — if anything, no human that looked her "age". She wasn't quite that old yet, but she certainly didn't look what a human would expect of her age.

She gritted her teeth, unable to think of a clever answer for this one. Still, maybe she could stall him if she kept her answers vague and short enough. "Since I was born," she answered flatly, which, again, was not a lie. Samael had already been told that Allovera's parents had abandoned her, and so that person who had literally received her as a baby had taken the responsibility of raising her ever since.

[The same way I ship my Sibyl with Thunder's Armatas because they can't stand each other, I am totally shipping Samael x Allovera. It's fuelled by their mutual hate of each other. :,v I'm loving it, hahah.]

[Their rivalry is good, hehe. Just Sam is.... not... a romantic being. Like he literally would be the worst in a relationship, because he would either a) pretend to be a loving, caring partner (which he is not), or b) just disregard their feelings and does and say whatever he wants. I've actually been thinking about this recently. Like Samael can use romance and sex as tools for getting people to do what he wants, but he actually has no desire to have a relationship. He just likes bugging people.]

"Which is... what? Two years ago? Two hundred years ago?" Samael shrugged his shoulders, looking at Allovera with a cheeky grin, obviously enjoying playing dumb. "Something tells me you don't look your age, though you certainly like to act like a petulant child."

Allovera gritted her teeth when Samael brought up the matter of an exact number. She hated the fact that he had a fairly good idea of what she was, if he wasn't entirely right about it. But according to him, she was much too fascinating for him, and he wouldn't let her go unless she answered his stupid questions.

"I'm just following your example," she retorted at his comment about her attitude, because really, he was being no better than her. Forcing her to stick around because mister wanted some puny answers? Really? Who was being a child here? "And my age... it's rude to ask a lady her age," she pointed out, sticking her tongue out at him. "You should know better. I've lost count, either way. Pass."

"Fine. I'll amuse myself with guessing at the number." Samael chuckled, then put his hands in his pockets, leaning back against the shadowy wall. He tilted his head at Allovera, as if waiting for her to do something. Realizing that she wasn't going to take the bait, he sighed dramatically, looking up at the sky. "You really are bad at this game, aren't you? It's your turn, dear."

Allovera did much of the same, leaning against the wall and waiting for something to happen. Sure, if Samael wanted to try guessing, he could go right ahead. She still wouldn't answer him, either way. She could tell him if he was getting warmer or colder, but she wouldn't flat out admit how old she was.

She was unimpressed when Samael judged her skills at the game. "And why is that? I answered your questions," she pointed out, and even though her answers had been vague, he'd never clarified how clear they had to be. She had told the truth, and to her, that was enough. "My turn? Fine," she said as she let go of the wall and pointed at the one that prevented her from leaving the alleyway. "I answered your dumb questions. Can I go now?"

Samael looked at the wall as if he had never seen it before. He fiddled with the collar of his jacket, staring at Allovera with wide eyes, confusion filling up his pale face. "Do you want to be followed?" He asked, his voice filled with incredulity. Shaking his head, Samael allowed himself a smile, pressing a hand to his forehead. "My dear girl, you simply do not understand. I won't leave you alone until I get what I want, and if you really do want me to leave you alone, then... the answer is pretty simple, don't you think?"
