Zane watched as Cody began to dither, and it took all of his might to not grin. He was beginning to get used to Cody's unsure manner, and decoding the intent behind the stammers. It just took a little time, and a little listening. It was cute, in a way, although Zane did wish that Cody would be a little more confident. It wasn't like Zane would say no, in any case. Especially not if Cody looked at him with those big blue eyes like he was doing right then. Zane smiled, adjusting his arms around Cody, holding the other tighter. "Of course I'm comfortable with that," he said, a happy note in his voice. Zane paused for a moment, then let out a laugh, his face turning a ruddy color. "The bed is super comfy, too."

Cody curled up tighter with a tiny noise as Zane held him tighter, his face flushing, and he raised his eyes to meet Zane's, a smile spreading over his face. "G-great..." he breathed, then laughed, the tension washing out of his shoulders with the chuckle. "I-it's... a lot more comfortable now that it doesn't feel so big," he said softly, his cheeks warming as he stared at a fold in Zane's shirt. He blinked, realizing something, and glanced down at himself. He... he didn't have a shirt on. He stiffened in realization, itching with self-consciousness. Had he just... fallen asleep like that last night? What was he thinking? Oh, it was embarrassing... but... The better part of him didn't want to leave the warmth of Zane's arms at all.

A small smile wormed onto Cody's face, almost holding a bit of mischief to it as he tilted his head at Zane, fluttering his eyelashes slightly with a joking chuckle. "S-so where did my shirt run off to, huh...?" he murmured, fiddling with the thicker fabric along the collar of Zane's t-shirt.

Zane didn't seem to mind as Cody shifted and curled closer and fiddled with his shirt. Really, he was just content to lay there forever. It was so warm and comfortable underneath the covers... He blinked his eyes open as Cody spoke, realizing that he had almost dozed off again. Smiling at Cody, Zane made a grunting noise. "Uh... um..." He lifted his head up to peer around for Cody's missing shirt. Giving up fast, he flopped back down with a huge sigh. "It's somewhere... I don't wanna move."

Cody made a small noise of surprise as Zane shifted to twist and look around, then laughed slightly as he flopped back down. "Th-that's fair..." he murmured, his eyes lidding as he slowly allowed himself to get used to the idea of lying there with Zane on a chilly monday morning only half-dressed. There was something beautiful about the thought, in Cody's mind, as embarrassing as it was. "You can stay right here..." he added, softer, not meaning the slight coy lilt to his voice. His fingers paused on Zane's collar for a moment, before his fingers flitted out to brush against the side of Zane's neck, smiling at the faint hints of stubble as his fingers trailed back up to Zane's jawline. Maybe the fever was still lingering just enough to make him a little more confident, his blue eyes flicking up to meet Zane's, lips curved into a small smile. "I don't want you to get up yet, a-anyway..."

Zane glanced down at Cody at the note in his voice, his eyes softening as he let out a sheepish laugh. "Okay." He lay still as Cody's fingers brushed against him, his cheeks warming slightly. "I don't have anywhere to be." As soon as he said this, his stomach let out a keening growl, ending with a deep gurgle. "Oh." Zane flushed, looking embarrassed.

Cody gave a small smile of triumph at that, continuing his light touches and paths. He blinked at the noise coming from Zane's stomach, tensing in surprise, then looked up at Zane with a small laugh. "O-oh," he echoed Zane, beaming at him softly. He sighed and shuffled closer, wrapping up the taller boy in a hug and pressing his cheek to Zane's chest. "Guess we should get some breakfast... maybe get back to bed afterwards. Or I could bring you breakfast, here..." Cody rambled softly, then blinked, looking up at Zane in surprise. "O-oh, did... did it end up snowing after all?"

"Breakfast would be great," Zane laughed, slowly moving to sit up with a grunt. He sighed, wrapping his arm around Cody and bringing the smaller boy closer. "It's about time to get up, anyway. Bacon and toast sound good?" Zane yawned, reaching to run a hand through his hair. "Hopefully it stuck. We could make a snowman!"

Cody made a small noise as Zane sat him up and pulled him closer, and he chuckled, leaning into the warmth of Zane. "Mhm, sounds great..." he murmured, catching the yawn and stifling it by tucking his nose into Zane's shoulder. "Oh... maybe it stuck, yeah. I know they salt the roads here, but the roof is fair game. I'll have to bundle up this time, though," he added sheepishly, leaning away to look up at Zane and glance around for his shirt. "Oh, is my fever any better? I feel a little better," he said, looking back at Zane as he reached for the discarded shirt on the sheets and unballed it, then pulled it over his head with some minor difficulty.

"Roof sounds fun. Maybe after breakfast." Zane's stomach agreed with this, loudly, and he let out an embarrassed noise, his face flushing. Zane let go of Cody as the smaller boy pulled on his shirt, covering up the burns. Reaching out, Zane put his hand against Cody's forehead, then his other against his own forehead. "Uh... seems a bit better to me. If you bundle up, you should be fine."

Cody smiled at the sound of Zane's stomach, fully determined to put an end to it. "That's good news," he murmured, shuffling so that he could swing his legs over the side of the bed and stand up with a stretch, raising his arms above his head and popping his back. "Mm," he began after a moment, something occurring to him, and a small flush touched his cheeks. "D-did I... say anything too embarrassing, last night? B-because, like... I remember taking my shirt off, I think, a-and... probably saying some pretty revealing stuff, if it was about that, so..." Cody's face was a soft red color, looking a little remorseful as he glanced back at Zane over his shoulder, and offered a tiny smile. "Thanks for listening to whatever babbling happened last night. I-I was... pretty out of it, I think."

"Uh..." Zane looked a little caught off guard by the sudden question, blinking his eyes wide. He followed Cody out of the bed, shivering as his bare feet touched the cool floor. "It wasn't that embarrassing. It was personal, but I don't mind listening." Zane shrugged, looking a little sheepish. "Nothing to apologize or thank me for. I mean... like, I'm happy to do stuff like that." Zane sighed, scratching at his head. "Sometimes you just gotta unload your baggage and have someone to lean on."

"Mm," was Cody's eloquent response, his cheeks a little pink at Zane's words. He took a slow breath in, then suddenly turned around to face Zane with a small, sheepish smile. He stepped closer to bridge the gap between them and wrapped his arms firmly around Zane's waist, hugging the taller boy tightly. "Thanks," he mumbled softly, a smile in his voice. "B-but I don't wanna be a bummer all the time... a-and if you ever have trouble with yourself, for whatever reason, u-um... I'm here to listen, too..." Cody trailed off, his face effectively warm with embarrassment, and he shifted so he could look up at Zane, chin resting on the other boy's chest as he smiled warmly. "Help me make breakfast. I left my glasses in the bathroom after I showered last night... so I better get those, or we might have another kitchen fire on our hands."

Zane's face split into a smile as Cody hugged him, and his arms wrapped around Cody's thin shoulders and held him gently. "Thanks. I'll be sure to do that, Cody." Zane stayed there for a moment longer before backing up to lean forward and press a kiss to Cody's semi-warm forehead. "I'll make breakfast," he offered, straightening up with red cheeks. "Scrambled eggs and toast sound okay?" Zane was already shuffling towards the kitchen, an eager look on his face.

Satisfied with this, Cody closed his eyes with a smile as Zane kissed him, shoulders drawing up happily. "Thanks, love..." he said softly, then blinked his eyes open, cheeks coloring red. "I mean... y-yeah, eggs and toast sounds great," he breathed, stepping back as Zane passed, a sheepish grin flickering on his face. He was getting a little too comfortable with all of this, and frankly, he liked it that way.

Cody went into the bathroom and peered at himself in the mirror, wincing a bit. He was a mess from crying the previous night. Running a brush through his matted hair, Cody picked up his glasses with his other hand and flicked them open, carefully slipping them onto his face and blinking better in the mirror. Well, he supposed with his glasses on, his eyes didn't look too bad. Presentable enough, Cody slipped into the kitchen quietly, moving over near where Zane was standing and lifting himself onto the countertop with a small grunt of effort, leaning his head back against the cabinet above.
