Zane's breath caught and froze in his chest at the gentle, fluttering touch on his cheek. He was silent for a moment, the flush spreading all the way to the tips of his ears, then he let out a shuddering breath, audible in the quiet room. "It's... okay," he murmured, leaning into Cody's hug. Slowly, he brought his free hand to curl around Cody's waist and back, hugging him. He grinned, beginning to laugh, and he gently squeezed Cody. "It's totally, one-hundred percent okay."

Cody buried himself in Zane's arms, letting go of Zane's hand to bring his other hand around Zane's shoulders, wrapping the taller boy up in a hug. "I-I l..." Cody froze, surprised at the words beginning to come out of him, and a small, breathless giggle whispered out against Zane's collarbone where Cody had ducked his head. "I... I love you, Z-Zane," he whispered, trying the words, tasting them, and found them beautiful and wonderful and light. "W-wow, I've... I've never said something like that. I love you...!" he almost laughed with giddiness, nuzzling his head against Zane's cheek before leaning away to beam up at Zane, his face lit up in the dim room with happiness, before a sudden tsunami-wave of shyness crashed over him, his face melting to a quiet look of horror. "O-oh... maybe I shouldn't have said that," he whispered, glancing away with a crooked, embarrassed smile, hunching his shoulders up as high as they'd go, as if trying to hide in himself.

Zane beamed at Cody, his arms shifting around Cody for a moment, then he sighed. "I love you too, Cody." he nurmured, bringing one hand to gently touch Cody's cheek. His eyes softened, and he leaned forward to kiss Cody's forehead. He moved away, a little shy, his cheeks a ruby red color.

Cody's heart swelled in surprise at the kiss and words, his cheeks flushing a deep red at both of them. He stared up at Zane, his lips parted in surprise, before slowly reaching up to lightly touch his hands to the sides of Zane's face. He swallowed, his eyes flickering softly in a kind of silent warning. More than anything, right then, he wanted to kiss him. He needed to. And he knew if he didn't follow his heart in that moment, he would regret it for quite a long time afterwards. Slowly, Cody gently tugged on Zane's head to bring him closer, and craned his head up as well, his eyes lidding as he came close to Zane's lips with his own. He froze as his nose bumped Zane's, and winced as his glasses got in the way, his face growing hot. "O-oh, darn it," he mumbled, a laugh suddenly shaking out of him as he ducked his head, fumbling to take off his glasses. "I-I'm so sorry, gosh," he chuckled, sniffing and trying to get his shoulders to stop shaking with embarrassed giggles. So close, but not quite a kiss. He'd really have to work on that...

Zane's breath, if he had any to begin with, caught in his throat as Cody's hands pulled his face closer. He watched wide-eyed as Cody's face grew closer and closer. Wait--wait--was this? Were they going to--? Zane made a small noise as their noses bumped together, his eyes squeezing shut. His heart was running about fifty miles a minute in his chest. Realizing that Cody had backed off, Zane blinked, a little surprised, and then a laugh bubbled up in his chest. "That startled me," he said, chuckling. He watched Cody take off his glasses, a surge of warmth rising up in him. He reached up to take hold of Cody's hand on his face, then he leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on Cody's lips.

Cody seized up with a hitching breath as Zane pressed his lips to his, and without meaning to be let out a soft sound, his face flushing scarlet and eyes fluttering shut from their previous wide-as-saucers state. After a short moment he pulled away to breathe, only a few centimeters away from Zane's. His eyes were wide with surprise, and a soft laugh escaped him before leaning forward to close the gap again, his mouth relaxing softly against Zane's, already growing used to the feeling--and yet he knew he would never get used to it, ever. Slowly as he held his lips on Zane's, he exhaled a soft breath through his nose, his grip growing loose on his glasses in his lap as he grew a little dizzy.

Zane only had time to suck in a quick breath, his mind spinning from the kiss. He stared into Cody's blue eyes, taken aback by the smile, and when Cody's lips returned to his, Zane was beginning to smile too. He scooted a little closer to the other boy, arms going to wrap around Cody's waist so that they were intertwined. For a moment, everything stood still and perfect, his face and chest bursting with warmth, and Cody gently breathing in his arms. He took a shaky breath, leaning away for a moment, putting his forehead against Cody's. "W-wow..."

The feeling of Zane's arms wrapping around his waist and body, holding him so steady and so gently, seemed to break Cody's world down to a simpler level. He was so close to Zane now that every breath he took in was full of the smell of Zane, and he imprinted it in his mind, forcing all the nagging insecurities out that had been tickling the back of his mind since the moment Zane had confessed. When Zane broke again for air, Cody sucked in a soft breath and let it out, his shoulders shifting slightly. A smile tugged at the corners of Cody's mouth as he beamed at Zane's too-close face, and he abandoned his glasses in his lap to raise his hands to the sides of Zane's neck, letting his thumbs brush Zane's jawline slightly. "W-wow," he echoed Zane with a soft giggle, and on a small rush of impulse he closed the gap one more time for a soft peck on the lips, then flushed and glanced away. "Wow..."

Zane made a small sound as Cody kissed him again, and he burst out into laughter, tucking his face into the crook of Cody's neck. He held the smaller boy tight, breathing in the clean scent of soap and Cody. "Wow," he managed to say, taking a deep breath, controlling his chuckles. "Um..." Zane straightened up, looking at Cody with a sheepish expression. "Do... you wanna finish the movie, o-or... uh, something else?"

Cody made a tiny squeak of surprise as Zane suddenly buried his face in Cody's neck, and he hunched one shoulder, giggling a little at the tickling feeling of Zane's breath. Ah, his face was so hot... what to do in this situation, what to do--Cody's thoughts cut off as Zane straightened up, and he cleared his throat, taking his hands back and fumbling for his glasses, slipping them on with a flushed face. "Oh... mm... I-I mean... w-we have more pizza, a-and... yeah, we might should see the movie through to the end..." Cody mumbled, then smiled sheepishly. "Although I... s-still wouldn't mind going on the roof with you sometime, when it's a clear night," he added with a chuckle. "M-make a date out of it, or... something, ah..." he caught himself, realizing his words, and he grinned sheepishly at Zane. "Oh, th-this is gonna take some getting used to. I-I can say embarrassing things now without worrying... th-that's too much freedom."

Zane looked at Cody, gaze unwavering, and a bright grin spread across his face. "It's a date, then," he replied, chuckling. He loosened his grip on Cody's waist, then leaned forward and grabbed another slice of pizza. "But let's finish the movie. I'm still not sure what's going on, but it's getting super cool." Zane settled back against the couch cushions, and wrapped an arm around Cody's shoulders. It just felt natural, curling together like this.

Cody raised his head to blink at Zane, then smiled and leaned over to get another piece as well. "Y-yeah, sounds like a plan," he chuckled, hitting the unpause button and settling into the crook of Zane's arm like it was the most natural thing in the world. He realized a moment later what he was doing, halfway between taking a bite of pizza, and he blushed slightly, a warm smile crossing his face as he rested his cheek on Zane's collarbone, curling into him. So familiar, already... It still made his heart flutter like a trapped bird in his chest, but it was comfortable, and felt so, so right. Cody took a few bites of pizza, his eyes lidding a little as he stared at the screen, a sleepy happiness radiating off of him, despite his giddiness from the previous kisses. Oh, he was going to have a hard time forgetting those...

Zane let out a sigh, relaxing as Cody drew near him. It just felt... right. Like they were meant to be like this. He quickly finished up his pizza, and settled back against the couch, full of content. Even though Zane had asked to finish the movie, he was finding himself nodding off. He leaned his head against the top of Cody's his eyes fluttering open and closed as he hovered on that border between sleep and daze.

Cody's eyelids were, admittedly, getting a little heavy as well. He slowly set down his half-eaten pizza, careful not to disturb Zane's place on his head, and he smiled softly, shifting to lean all his weight on Zane. He blinked slowly as he noticed they were at the end of the movie, or getting close to it at least. Carefully he turned his head to stare at the side of Zane's neck in the dim light, and he closed his eyes, caught mentally between letting Zane lay down and wanting to fall asleep next to the other boy, just like this. Before he could think twice about it Cody was already drifting off to sleep, a soft, barely audible snoring coming from him as his breathing evened out.

It was about an hour later that Zane woke up, making a small sound. He squinted around the dim room, realizing that the kitchen light was still on. And Cody was asleep next to him. Zane stared at the smaller boy for a moment, watching the gentle rise and fall of Cody's breathing. He smiled softly, tucking a strand of hair behind Cody's ear. It wouldn't be good for their backs if they stayed this way. Carefully, Zane brushed a hand over Cody's shoulder, trying to wake Cody as gently as possible.
