Oliver had, like an idiot, agreed to meet up with his sister in the city. He was regretting it already considering that he was ten minutes early and so far she was... 19... 20 minutes late. Oliver frowned down at his Americano and, after a brief consideration of how much he hated himself today, down the rest of it in one go and got up to order another. He'd need the energy to deal with Olivia today.

And, speak of the devil, as he was standing there waiting in line, she appeared, grabbing onto his arm with a grin.

"Oliver!" Olivia squealed, leaning into her brother and hugging his arm instead of his entire person because she knew her brother THAT much, thanks. "How have you been? Meet anyone new lately? See any cute boys here that we can gossip about? I have so much to tell you about my new coworker!" Ah, never change, Olivia.

he said with a giggle, moving him forward when the line did.

Oliver allowed himself to be manhandled by his own flesh and blood, for the sake of getting closer to getting more coffee, and decided that, for now, he was merely going to reply with, "You're late."

Not that much else had to be said about it.

Olivia rolled her eyes dramatically at this, of course, and moved her body weight so that she was no longer hanging off him entirely.

"No need to be dramatic. You're in line right now, too, so you must have also been late!"

"No." He quickly retorted. "I was ten minutes early. I'm going for my second cup because I already had my first waiting for you. For thirty minutes. Because you're ten minutes late."

Well this only got her to roll her eyes at him, again. "God, you're so dramatic. It's not that big a deal." No idea where he'd gotten that from.

"I'll buy your second cup if it'll make you happy, deal?"

Oliver did allow himself to faintly smile at that. "It's a start." He straightened up and rolled his shoulders, stepping up to the barista and ordering his second Americano while his sister ordered a frightening aberration of vaguely coffee-flavored foam. Oliver suppressed a shudder as she listed off all the shots of sweetened bullshit she wanted in her drink. At least she kept her word and paid.

As they moved along to the window to pick up their drinks, he figured it'd be a good time to change the line of conversation. "So what took you so long? Get caught up on work?"

Or maybe he wasn't shifting the conversation so much as he was trying to figure out why the hell he ended up having to wait so long for her.

"Oh, you know." She said with a twirl of her fingers.

"I'm just so damn popular it was hard to get away from all the party invitations and guys trying to hit me up and just generally being awesome. It's so hard being me!"

He rolled his eyes. Again. "Yeah it sure it."

She offered him a big grin in return, bumping her shoulder against him happily. "I was on the phone with mom, you jerk, it just took a while to catch up with her and we lost track of time."

"I'm sorry it took me so long to get here."

Now, he could finally smile back at her. "Fine." He couldn't be pissed off at her about that, even though he couldn't be convinced that it was true. But whatever. He knew how she was, he'd expected her to be late anyway. Luckily they were both saved from him trying to make more awkward small talk by their drinks finally coming. They each grabbed them so he could lead her back to the table he'd been sitting at.

Once there, they could relax and take sips of their borderline undrinkable hot beverages while regarding each other quietly.

"You don't look as bad as the last time I saw you." She finally broke the silence, grinning at him around the straw of her abomination. "Exams are over, I take it?"

He could sense that she was probably going to lead into a more invasive line of questioning, but he grabbed onto the easy stuff before they got there.

"Yeah, last one was Thursday. I ended up sleeping all day Friday." He said with a self-satisfied smile. It had been a day of rest of truly epic proportions. He only left his bed to sleepwalk to the kitchen to sleep feed himself or to the bathroom (for obvious reasons). The rest of the day was spent in bed, enjoying his new found freedom of no classes. For now.

"What about you? I'm sure you've got a ton of gossip you want to share." Oh did she ever.
