Truce parted his jaws with a threatening hiss - er, that is, witha joyful hiss, as Discord knew that his slightly scary baring of fangs was actually a grin. She knew why, and smiled with him as she hit the buzzer. They had first noticed this Shoppe only yesterday!

"It's Azura Rayume's Music Shoppe!" She answered confidently.

((Are we supposed to post stat changes when our pets level up? O.O))

"Nice work, pal!" Tobias flung his question card off to the side as Truce's score rose. He would never have admitted it, of course, but he was running a little low on ideas for making himself more interesting. He'd pull it off, though. He always did.

"What Breeder's Directory topic should you go to if you want to find out if that new Lucain you bought has some infamous relations?"

Discord smirked, sharing a look with her cursed companion. Infamous Lucain? Only one place to go for that.

Discord cleared her throat as Truculent attacked the buzzer. "It's ToxicShadow's 'Lucain Lines' thread in the Breeder's Listing. Lucain Lines!" She stressed again, having spoken a bit quickly the first time. She was right... Right?

"You are on top of it tonight, little man!"

Of course, Tobias was hardly one to tell a giant Carpetfang anything about being "little." Then again, friends had a habit of refering to the Meji as "larger than life."

"Here's one all you new folk to Evelon should be familiar with...

Truce's head jerked back, making the Carpetfang appear almost... funny. Surprise wasn't an emotion common to the gigantic serpent, but really... Little man? He was not little! And he most certainly wasn't human! His mood was made no better by the fact that he could practically sense Discord's mirth at Toby's nickname. How could he know that Discord wasn't laughing at him, but at the answer to the question, which she herself had experienced less than a month before?
"The Nuclear Kitties haunt them, Toby!" She managed between chuckles. Hopefully she wouldn't be penalized for omitting any amusing punctuation...

The Fellox' face fell.  Well, darn.  The one time he gets excited and he's wrong; what a bummer.  Not only that, he had to get 'brained' to.  What a day.

He watched with mild interest the success of the others, a monotonic frown staying put on his features.  Ugh ugh ugh.

But, oh!  This next one he knew--at least he thought he did.  His answer this time was more tentative.  "You can adoot the Mnersklu and Kudagitsune."

Bob chucked affably,"Never say that again, Toby."

"Who maintains the Birthday List?"

Discord's eyes glowed happily as she watched Truce's name take the top of the scoreboard. They had recovered from their earlier braining! And Toby wasn't even talking about ping-pong balls anymore! She turned to look at Truce, who seemed just as happy as she was. Or perhaps, happy because she was. As happy as a giant Carpetfang could look, anyway. He hit the buzzer for her. "Arillumia runs the Birthday list!" She cried.

Tobias did another moonwalk. The swishiness was so addicting! "Yes yes! Excellent, excellent!

"Now, for our next questaroony...

"In the fabled 'Uber Auction of Uberness,' what three non-Evelonian currencies could you use to bid on pets?"

Gare jumped up. Jeesh, talk about mood swings. He had to remind himself to be apathetic, but by the time he remembered he was supposed to be against all this superficial nonsense, he was beyond caring.

"Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! You're on top of it all, kid!"

Shuffle the cards. Do a little two-step. Oh, last question! It'd be time for another physical round after this one.

"In the advertising section, who runs the thread called 'Too many unused pets =(?'"

Rankir hit the buzzer. "Too many unused pets? Kitsune-Tsuki runs the thread." Rankir rumbled.
He was actually getting into the game. He wanted to win. He wanted the Keystones.
Not that he had any confidence about actually winning this game.
Alanah shook her head. This guy was so weird. Why did Krypto even suggest using the Tundragoon?

"Nice going! Good answer."

The bells went off again. Bob broke in over the clamor and blinking lights.

"And waddiya know, folks, it's time for another PHYSICAL CHALLENGE!"

The Physical Challenge music  began to play. Thr equipment wheeled out of the ground, and Tobias beckoned everyone down to the floor.

This was... interesting. A long strip of something-or-other lay on the floor. Ah, I love this one, thought Tobias. Green ooze ran along the track. Crowd members who were famliar with it clapped and cheered.

"Alrigh, Bob! You wanna give us the lowdown?"

"Well, Tobias, this here's the SLIME RUN! As you can see, we've got ourselves a long track here covered... in SLIIIIME! You goal is to get from the starting line, indicated by the flashing blue lights, to the ending line, indicated with flashing red lights, in under... 90 seconds! But, as you can see, the track is covered in SLIIIIME! And if you run through SLIIIIME, you slip and fall! It's not about speed so much as it is about balance and being able to keep upright! You don't wanna trip!"

"Alright, everyone! Get to your places! Ready... set... GO!"
