A common kuhna stood aimlessly on a street corner, anxiously watching those who passed her.  She nervously ran her fingers through her shoulder length hair, which was pulled over her left shoulder. She was waiting for someone, a blind date. Rin had set her up to meet this other kuhna without really asking her. But that was like her owner. The girl had heard that he was a hydrokuhna, and the pet of one of Rin's good friends.
Goodness, she was jittery. This was the first time she'd ever been on date and really wanted it to go well. Who wouldn't? She took a deep breath to try and calm herself. It was going to be fine. I wonder what he's like? She asked herself, envisioning all the different men she'd met so far on Earth. She looked up at a clock hanging in a store window. It was almost time for him to come. This is it. She pushed her hair back behind her shoulder, took yet another deep breath, and smiled to hide her nerves.

Iroqois walked down the sidewalk at a leisurely pace. There'd been a note left in his workshop that he was to meet someone at 4:00 in Lamenolai, in front of the Herbs n' Cures shop. He wasn't sure who'd left it, but decided to go through with it anyway. The only other addition to the mysterious letter was that he was to look for a common kuhna in a white summer dress. There was no name to the description.

Rounding a corner, he came to the specified place, and spotted a figure who fit the description standing in front of him, a little ways off. The hydrokuhna was suddenly conscious of the fact that he was still wearing his racing outfit and his arm-covers, which unfortunately had multiple oil stains on them. Iroqois tugged on the fringe of his shirt once, and approached the girl.

He tapped lightly on her shoulder, one, two, and asked, "Are you here to meet someone?"

[Rin]

The girl nodded. "Yes, I am,"she replied, smiling. Could this be him? He seemed very nice. What was he wearing? The kuhna found herself more and more confused by this new world. There was so much she didn't know. Well, whatever it was, she liked it. It was...interesting. That's the word. Regardless of whether this was her date or not, she politely introduced herself. "My name is Teodata. What's yours?"she asked. Teodata was eager to ask about his clothing, but held her tongue. She didn't want to seem rude or intrusive.  Instead, she just waited to see what this curious man was called.

[Polaris]

"Then I guess I'm here to meet you," he smiled warmly, flicking his head to move the hair out of his eyes. "I'm Iroqois," Taking in her white hair and friendly expression, Iroqois wondered why he was supposed to meet up with her. Was she an  opponent looking to size up the competition? Or was this a tip-off to who he would be facing in the next race by one of his friends?  Either way, she didn't really seem the type...Shoving away speculation, he refocused on reality. Racing? Not for him, not yet. Sheesh, he hadn't even had much time to work on his mount. Now he couldn't just call his mount Mount, that was lame. 'Course, the robot wasn't exactly being helpful or very talkative at this point.... Stop getting sidetracked! he almost yelled at himself, Figure out who she is, what she's here for... "So...."Nice Iroqois, make it all akward, "Um, forgive me asking, but do you have any idea why..."How to phrase it? "I, or, I mean, we were set up to meet here?"

[Rin]

Teodata nodded and repeated quietly to herself, "Iroqois..." She desperately hoped she would remember it later.
The kuhna turned a shade of pink when asked if they were set up. Did he not know? Was he not told that this was a blind date? "Um..." she began, not really knowing how to tell this unsuspecting stranger he'd been coned into going on a date with her. "I was told to m-meet you for a... b-blind date..," Teo stuttered. Great. If she wasn't nervous enough thinking he knew about it. Now it would be even worse. She stared at the ground and silently waited his reaction.

[Polaris]

He had to stiffle a laugh. Something so innocent? Iroqois grinned, "A blind date? Well I'm certainly glad I'm not blind with such a pretty date." He took off his sun glasses to reveal sea green eyes; then tucked the glasses into one of his pant pockets. She seemed... unconfident? No, that wasn't the right word. Unsure? Yes, that was it. Well, hopefully she'd loosen up sooner or later. She seemed like a sweet girl afterall. No, he certainly wouldn't mind having her for a date.

"Where would you like to go? Lamenolai holds many treasures... and parties. Lots more since the war has ended and the Purines won..." He shrugged his sholders and indicated the streets that led off from the corner they were standing on, "Pick a road. Whichever one catches your attention."

[Rin]

Teodata flushed even deeper. Pretty? He thought she was pretty? "Thank you so much!" she replied happily. No one had ever told her she was pretty before. She really liked Iroqois. Not because he complemented her, but because he was different then the other people she'd met. He was really genuine. Teo liked that.
When the other kuhna asked where Teo wanted to go she shook her head, wide eyed. She'd never been to Lamenolai before today. "I have no idea, Iroqois," she answered. "Where would you like to go?"

[Polaris]

His smile aquired a little quirk at her response, she was incredibly polite and cute. "Well, I don't know the city here apart from maps and stories my friends have told me. And I asked you first. I insist you choose," he teased. Then, Iroqois spread his arms, "Just start walking and we'll see something eventually. I'll follow you." Perhaps they might find something... he'd heard stories, and one in particular about the Maiden's Tear weighed the heaviest in his mind. Rumors about a preluhna. If the city contained something like that, what else could it be hiding underneath the gazes of it's stone sentries?

Or they could just go out and have some fun. Pick up a cup of the famous coffee, maybe check out some of the clubs, get lost in a dark alley... The hydokuhna had to laugh at that. His friends' mysterious tendancies were starting to rub off on him, despite his down to earth way of thinking. He ended the thought with, "Lead on, M'lady."

[Rin]

"If you insist," she sighed. She looked around, seeing four streets that met at an intersection. Down one she could see a somewhat fancy restaurant and a flower shop.  That would be nice, she thought. We could go have a peaceful dinner. Another road had a bakery with a sign that claimed to have the world's best apple turnovers. Teodata loved apple turnovers.
Down a third avenue there was a club that was quiet now, but she knew that, come nighttime, the bass would be thumping. Looking at the finally street, she could see a busy coffee shop and, much farther down, a few rather dark allies.

Teo decided that some hot coco sounded quiet nice. "How about we go to that coffee shop? I could do for something warm," she suggested.

[Polaris]

"Okay, sounds good." Iroqois replied in a peppy voice. Checking to see that no one was coming down the road, he started across. Looking to where Teodata was, a few questions ran through his head. Where did she come from? Did she owe alligence to any of the so called 'trainers'? Did she... Iroqois realized he knew next to nothing about her.

But then again that's something to do while they had their coffee, or drinks, or whatever was available. Reaching the sidewalk on the other side, he turned back to see if Teodata was following.

[Rin]

Teodata followed Iroqois across the street, checking to make sure that there was no oncoming traffic of any sort. She walked at a very even pace, not too fast, not too slow until she reached the coffee shop.
The door was a light blue color with "IdUnno's Coffee" written in golden script on it. There was a matching blue over hang with scalloped edge, giving it a homey touch. Umbrellas casted shade over white, iron tables with a few strewn about customers enjoying their beverages.
Teo, knowing it was polite to hold the door open for others, opened it in time for a couple to walk out, hand in hand, holding cups. The common kuhna watched them mystified. That could be her and Iroqois someday, maybe today. She shoved the thought out of her head. Nothing like that happened on the first date.  Teo continued to hold the door for her 'date'.

[Polaris]

Iroqois waited for the couple to walk out, then half-smiled at Teodata. Wasn't he suposed to hold the door for her? "Where do you come from by the way?" he questioned, walking into the shop. He turned to wait for her, his head turned slightly to the side. Quickly he added, "Oh, and I'll pay for anything you want. That's how it works right?" Flashing a grin, he pulled out a few polished keystones from his back pocket.

[Rin]

"Thank you!" Teodata said when told she didn't have to pay. Then, when Iroqois asked where she came from, she paused. Where did she come from? She wasn't quiet sure how to answer that because, frankly, she didn't really know herself. She just woke up on the shore, which she found out soon after, led up to Rin's property.  "I live on the coast," she replied, hoping he would take that as an answer.
"Can I take your order?" The kuhna looked toward a teenage girl who was standing behind the counter. "Oh," Teo began, scanning the menu. "I'd like a small hot chocolate, please." The girl tapped the order into the cash register and waited for Iroqois.

[Polaris]

"Uh, one of those minty latte things..." he pointed to a menu item on the ordering board above the counter. Iroqois wasn't exactly the type of guy who frequented places like this, but hey, it didn't seem all that bad. Apart from the fact that most of the menu items had french names with little dots and dashes over the letters and he had no idea how to pronounce any of them... well, he could live with it. "That one," he gestured again.

The girl turned to see where he was pointing, and nodded, quickly ringing up the order. "Your total is six keystones... would you like a reciept?"  

Iroqois shook his head and counted out the money, handing it over to the cashier. "Thank you," he said, as she replied, "Please stand over there, we'll have your order ready in a bit."

"Really?" he asked, turning to her. "That's cool," of course, she's be rather less than delighted at his residence, she didn't really seem like the type to enjoy mechanics very much. "Do you hang out around the water much?"

[Rin]

The kuhna moved to where the orders were to be handed out. There was young man, who Teodata assumed was the one making the drinks, handing an older woman a hot beverage with a large dollop of whipped cream.

"I do," she answered. "I spend a lot of time sitting on the beach with some of my friends. Where do you come from, if you don't mind me asking?" she asked, still curious about Iroqois odd clothing.

"Hot Coco and a Mint Cappimocha!" called the young man, holding cups in his hands. "That's mine, thank you," Teo said, grabbing the two drinks with a smile.  She held out Iro's  Cappimocha and suggested, "How about we sit over  here?" The kuhna gestured toward two comfortable-looking blue armchairs with a small table in between.
