"The braclet I made myself. It is not of any sentimenal worth to me. Except the one of the maker's pride," she said pushing it back towards him.
Maybe... just maybe I should tell him, she thought.
But no, that was the past. She was no more the one who brought shame to her clan.
She was now Freda, the dancer.
Nodding to herself, she tried to presuade herself with limited success.

[center]Gnoll looked at her solemnly, the put out his hand for the bracelet.
"Then I promise to take extreme care of it." He promised.
He could just feel that this bracelet was special to her.
And didn't want to make her sad.
He jingled the hat again, smiling to the sound.

Freda smiled and giggled as he shook the bracelet.
"We should go to the square now," she said, glancing outside the window.
The sun was steadily falling into the ocean, casting a gentle pink glow on the walls.
It was the ideal time to start night bussiness.
Freda stood and dusted off her skirts.
"Don't forget the hat," she called as she walked outside, putting her makeup on.

[center]Gnoll nodded as he placed the hat on his head.
He shook his head so he could hear it jingle.
He giggled slightly as he also ginggled the braclet.
He just seem to love the sound of the bells jingling.
He looked in to see how Freda was doing, and waited for her to be done.

Freda blinked and snapped the little makeup bag shut.
She strode out into the little hallway and walked to the door.
"We'll need to make some housing arrangements," she said, "I think there's a room here for rent. Or perhaps we can travel. I'm usually rarely here anyway."
As she talked, she led them onto the crowded streets.

Some sunlight still splattered the road and walls, here and there.
People shouted and laughed in joy all around.
The hot sun was gone, and the cool breezes were comming, it's the perfect time to take a stroll and stare at all the wonders this city has give.

Freda waved to people as they called out.
Many saw and followed her to the square.
"I think we'll have a great turnout tonight," she said gleefully to Knoll.

[center]Gnoll nodded to everything Freda had said.
He looked at the crowd following behind him and shivered slightly.
It kinda scared him, but he just drowned it out.
He looked forward as the mesh of people blocked everything.
He was getting slightly nervious and kept thinking about what he had to do.
He jingled the bells to help calm him down as they walked on.

She noted his uneasiness.
Maybe before he had been in a sticky situation in a big city?
He'd be fine when they got to their spot...
The crowd parted to allow them passage to an open space.
Freda danced forwards and bowed.
Clearing her throat, she smiled and addressed the audience, "Welcome and thank you all!"
"Yes.. Like I promised before, I have a new routine for you all. And with it, I brought an assistant," she continued and motioned towards Knoll.
"Please, do enjoy your night," she ended her speech with a winning smile.

[center]Gnoll nodded when he was introduced.
He looked through the crowd and saw many different faces.
He gulped slightly and help in his fears.
He looked to Freda, waiting for her to start and to lead.
He placed hsi feet apart, ready to start.

Freda smiled in approval at Gnoll.
She knew the fear of crowds staring at you.
She had that fear before too.
Many an apprentice she had met froze in their first performances.
But really, all you had to do was as you practiced.
Let your body to the work.
Let yourself flow to the music...

Freda nodded to the musicians and they started to play.
She danced and leaped in time to the music as the audience clapped.
Everything went as planned.

Until the moon died.
The place had a cheery and warm feeling, the streets buzzing with activity.
But all had gone silent.
For a few seconds.
Then the crowds erupted in panic.

(OH YEAY IT'S LAVVIEH.
And no don't even ask, my brain has gone crazy.)

Gnoll looked around.
What had happened?
Did he mess up?
He looked to Freda.
"Freda, whats going on?" He yelled.
Was this suppost to happen?
He wasn't feeling so good anymore.

Freda was mad. And scared. But mostly mad.
Mad at whoever ruined her performance tonight.
Mad at how that person made the moon disappear.
And most of all, mad at how that person ruined Gnoll's first public performance.

She tired to suppress her anger, knowing it'll bring no good, but to no avail.
"I don't know," she managed to get out in a voice loud enough to be heard by Gnoll over the screaming crowd.

Gnoll looked around.
Something had to cause this.
Then, there he spotted it.
It was running between the people in the crowd.

It was a Scribblen.
but this one was different.
It's movements were followed by long shadows.
Like if it were to be a ghost.
"It's the Cursed Creature!" Yelled a man.
A woman screamed.
Gnoll never took his eyes off of him.
He then relized it was heading their way.
He gasped.
Then saw it wasn't headed for both of them.
but just Freda.
"NO!" Gnoll yelled.
As the creature pounced towards Freda, Gnoll jumped in front of it's attack.
A loud Smack could be heard as Gnoll fell to the ground beneath Freda's feet.
The creature jumped back a ways, and readied for another attack.

(( thought I'd let you use Freda's anger as a good thing ;P ))

Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the Scribblen.
She growled at the fleeting shadows stalking it.
Freda got down on all fours and prepared to spring at the nasty thing that turned her into this monster.
Except it was faster than she thought.
So was Gnoll.

His body thudded to the ground in front of her.
All she felt was anger, anger, anger!
She wanted to kill that thing that dared ruined her night.
She wanted to strangle that awful thing that hurt her new friend.
"GO AWAY," she roared and sprang, claws unsheathed.

((Yeay good way to release anger.))

The Scribblin only chuckled ghoully.
His laughter echoed into his dark shadows.
He pounced at her when she pounced at him.
But, he landed on her beak and jumped behind her.
This creature was fast.
"No! Don't try to fight it, it has had to many years of experience!" Yelled a townsman that had stayed behind.
He had seen this thing many of times.
It was best to let it alone and it would eventually leave.
Gnoll twitched slightly.
Lost in a nightmare caused by the creature.

She didn't heed the kind man's warnings.
She didn't even hear them.
Freda spun around and lashed out again and again at the Scribblin.
Except she always seemed to miss.
And that only angered her more.

In her craze, she still had a bit of saneness, and it told her to take Gnoll to a safer place.
Tearing her ever strengthening gaze from the Scribblin, she gently hooked her claws under his belly and flew to the top of a nearby building.

From that vantage point, she eyed the Scribblin, wondering if it could climb.
