Gnoll laid there.
Unable to escape from his slumber.
But he knew he needed to.
So he tried again.
Soon there was a light at the end of his dream.
He ran towards it.

The Scribblen looked around.
The two had disappeared.
He growled loudly, which echoed into shadows.

Freda crouched over Gnoll protectively.
After a few seconds on watching the Scribblen, she decided to attack it again.
Oh that monster will pay this... she thought darkly.
Leaping from the building, she snapped open her wings and waiting for the perfect moment.

Th Scribblen looked up into the sky.
There was the one that tried to attack him.
His eyes narrowed.
He started to run.
Run towards the building.
Once he reached the foot of the building he started to run up the side of it.
Ascending to the top.

Gnoll rolled slightly.
I must wake up. He yelled inside his head.
He knew that the creature may hurt Freda.
Or Freda hurt someone else.

Freda hissed menacingly and lunged for that creature, nicking it.
She extended her claws and tried to grab it, but it was too fast.
The touch left her dizzy and confused, consumed by dark thoughts.
Pain and death reached out to envelope her...
No! she screamed and broke out of the trance.

Gnoll's eyes snapped open when Freda had yelled.
It seemed to have awaken him from his slumber.
He looked up to see Freda in the air.
What is she doing? He wondered.
He walked over to the edge of the building, looking up his mouth gaped open.
Then his eyes notice something.
He looked down.
There was the Scribblen.
His face turned to horror.

The Scribblen didn't like the blow Freda had given him.
But he knew that he had given her something in exchange.
He gave an eerie smile.
then notice Grnoll looking over the edge at him.
It seemed the other had woken again.
He started off.
Back towards the top.
To take care of him again.

Freda felt dizzy and disoriented.
Usually proud of her skills in flight, she would of called herself pathetic had she really been paying attention.
For now though, her only thought was Gnoll.
How horrified he must be! How lost!
She must save him.
No one must ever be left behind ever again.
It hurts too much.
With the thought burning in her mind, Freda labourously flapped her wings, and carried herself to the top of the building, where Gnoll stood, striken.
She neared the Scribblen, it clawing its way up the side of the building, sharp claws finding holds in the chipped rock.
"What are you? What do you want? she screamed at the hated figure.

Gnoll looked to Freda.
His face showed confusion and fear.
When she came next to him he just looked up at her with sadden eyes.
"Whats going on Freda?" He asked with a quite voice.

The Scribblen ran up the side.
As Freda yelled down to him he responded.
But not with words.
His mouth opened and a blood curdling scream.
It echoed into the shadows as he still ascended.
Edit:
Suddenly the creature disappeared.
All that was left was a small cloud of black smoke.
He was gone.
