A blond-braided, blue-eyed woman of average height picked her way slowly through the garbage and general muck of the Slums, muttering to herself and occasionally adjusting her exceedingly proper flower-topped hat. She held up her blue skirt when she was forced to dirty her shoes in puddles and stepped delicately around mud as well as...well, she hoped it was mud too.
Arabelline had agreed to this one final errand for Indigo: helping that frivolous Wolfie girl find a Snicky. When this was over, she would be able to pack her things and leave--the very thought made her heart soar. To leave that dreadfully improper household forever! No more being woken at the ridiculous hour of three a.m. by the early-morning antics of hooligans and ruffians in the hall outside her neat room. And when she had occasionally visited others' rooms--well! Perhaps she could move in with her sister, who was even more dedicated to propriety than Arabelline herself.
Now, where was that Wolfie girl's tenant, or whoever was being sent?
