The man scratched his raggedy white hair. She mentioned that he aced like he was drunk? And had been sweating? There was only one explanation for it, but he hadn't remember doing it. He tried to remember what had happened before he had blanked out and lost all his memory. But it wasn't coming back to him, no matter how hard he thought. He looked up to her, his hand stopped scratching but his hand was still buried in the white mess.
"Oh uh...my..my names Ion." He said, having trouble for a moment remembering it.

[Remedy]

Cornona smiled.  "I am Cortona Caroline, but just Cortona is fine.  Of course, around here I'm more commonly called 'mongrel' or 'dog'.  Anything works, really.  Anyway, are you okay?" she asked.  He was beginning to look a little confused, and she wondered if he had any idea where he was or how he got here.  If it was amnisia she was dealing with, then it's lucky he remembers his own name.  He still seemed to have a hard time with that too, though.  There were a few holes in her theroy, what with his behavior earlier compared to his behavior now.  She could tell he hadn't been drunk because he wasn't hung over.  What was the matter with the man?

He listened to her and nodded with everything she said. He didn't know her, but it seemed she was here doing the time he couldn't remember. So right now she was his best witness. He finally withdrew his hand from his hair and crossed his arms.
"I'm fine...though I do wish I could remember what happen." He said, looking down sadly.

[Remedy]

So it was amnisia! she thought, happy with this conclusion for now.  "Do you remember anything from before that?  Like, where you live?  I don't want to leave you here..." she said in a worried motherly sort of voice.  She looked around, as if realizing that it was night for the first time.  "Oh dear...." she said worriedly.  The Slums certainly wasn't the best place to be at night.

Ion nodded, he was sure of where he lived. Or at least when he asked his self where he lived he had an answer right away. But he might be wrong, though he wouldn't second guess it.
"I don't remember anything from before I left home to now." He said, looking around.
Where was he? It looked like the Slums, but why would he be here? He shook his head, this all made no sense. He would have to go home, maybe there would be something that would jog his memory. Or else he would never find out what had caused him to loose all that time.
He turned and started to head out of the alley, seeming to be mumbling to his self about something.

"Okay... At least you know where you live." she said.  that made things a bit easier.  When he started walking tward the alleyway exit, she hopped up and ran over to him.  "Are you crazy?  You're going to get yourself killed!  Do you know how the Slums are at night?!" He scared her like a mother would be scared if her toddler ran across the street without looking.  For some reason, she felt sort of responsible for him now.  Yes, responsible.  She wasn't about to go all out and say she was being loyal, because she wasn't quite in to that whole dog-owner relationship thing.

Ion stopped, just before the alleyway opened out to the road. Why was she so worried? No one ever bothered him, he never worried about people. He scratched his hair again, maybe she didn't want to be alone?
"What happens out here at night?" He asked, wanting to get some sort of idea.
He slowly took steps back towards her, she might not feel comfortable being so close.

[Remedy]

"About 80 percent of the usual robberies and murders and other crimes.  At night, crimanals take advantage of the dark an grab anyone who wanders the streets alone." Cortona said.  She was getting really figety and nervous, and she constantly looked behind her.  She wasn't sure why they'd feel the need to rob a dog, but she still felt paranoid.  She also didn't want anything bad to happen to Ion.

Ion looked at her, slightly amazed, but more confused. He had never been attacked or mugged before. Anyway, he had nothing they would want. Or at least he thought he didn't. He started to rummage through his pockets. No, nothing in that one. No money there wither. No-- Wait! His fingers fell upon something. He pulled it out, it was a Test Tube. What on earth was that doing in there? He looked at it curiously, for some reason this had something to do with why be blanked out, but what?

Cortona looked at the test tube questioningly.  "What the heck is that for?" she asked.  She read Ion's expression and he seemed surprised, too, so she figured he probably sisn't know.  "You know, people will rob you even if you don't have anything.  They'll think you do.  If you insist on going, at least let me come." Cortona said.  She thought about adding 'as a guard dog', but that didn't suit her well and it would point more tward loalty than responsibility.

Ion held up a finger, as if to say "one moment, be quiet". He was still staring at the test tube. He lifted it up to his right green eye and looked inside it. One drop of green liquid clinged to the bottom. His pupils shrunk as everything seemed to come flooding back. He threw the test tube down, it shattering by Cortona. He pointed to her, his face was serious now.
"Tell me everything I did or say, in detail!" He shouted, poking the palm of his other hand as he said "detail".

[Remedy]

Cortona was surprised at his sudden outburst.  "Shhhhhhh!" she whispered, wide-eyed.  She took a deep breath.  "From when I first saw you, you looked like you were drunk.  You started walking down this alley when you saw me saying things like 'here kitty'- I'm NOT a cat, by the way- and then you fell into the trash bags.  I dug you out and you started singing twinkle twinkle little star, then you fell asleep and then you woke up and here we are." Cortona whispered, then gasped for air.  "Happy?"  she hissed, looking around them to see if anyone was attracted to the sound.

Ion, after hearing what she said, looked down. His head bobbed as he thought over what he had heard. His hands moving as if he was poking imaginary pictures in the air. He was trying to put together everything. He then sat straight up and pointed in the air. He had figured it all out.
"Yes, yes, now I know." He said, spinning around and tapping his chin.

"Know what?" Cortona asked, curiosity eating at her insides.  He was starting to act a little wierd again, but she waited patiently for his response.  She looked behind her, just because she was paranoid.  Nothing seemed out of order, so she figured they were safe.

Ion looked up to her, yet his eyes seemed like he looked through her. He then snapped back to reality and shook his head.
"Oh yes, what do I know?" He asked out loud. "A potion, it was a potion."He replied.
He didn't go one about it. Instead he walked around behind her, repeating the word "potion" about three more times. He walked to the other side of the alley way, getting a bit restless.
