[Remedy]

Cortona wandered aimlessly around the alleys of the Slums.  It wasn't exactly the safest place to be, but she was bored and this place always seemed to scream adventure.  It was no mystical forest, but it was close enough for her.  She stopped in a bar or two in her human form, but she didn't order any drinks and certainly didn't want to stay very long from the looks she had been getting from a few men.  For a while nothing interesting was happening; it was just her wandering the streets in her creature form.  With the mud and everything off the disgusting sidewalks, she figured she must look like a stray now.  No matter; Cortona wasn't one to care about her looks much.  And, as a matter of fact, before she had come to the Village, this had been her life.  Wandering the streets as a stray... but that was in Aldrect.  And it was so long ago...

A rather strange human seemed to stumble around the Slums, moving from bar to bar, being kicked out of each before reaching the first stool. He would grumble words that made no sense in response to them and stumble off. It seemed he was a drunk and everyone treated him as so. If they really knew him, they would find out he wasn't drunk, but he would never tell them his secret. He soon stumbled down another alley and spotted a yellowish dog. He smiled, the smile of a drunk. He stumbled after it, mumbling something that made no sense.

[Remedy]

Cortona slid through another alley and saw a odd looking drunk man.  She made an attemy to slip back out, but it appeared as if the man saw her.  Brilliant, she thought.  Not knowing what to do in this situation, she took a few steps backward.  Now it seemed like this man was following her, so she growled defensively.  There were drunk people all over the Slums, bun none that have payed any attention to her while she was wondering the streets.  So why now?  Cortona growled again as a warning not to come any closer.

The man, not putting any mind to her threats, still stumbled toward her. His pupils were dilated, and seemed to shake within the iris. There was something very strange going on with him. He hunched over a bit as he still advanced, patting his knees.
"Here kitty kitty..." He said, his words blurred almost together.
He seemed to stumble over his own feet as he kept on. Once almost tripping into a trash can.

[Remedy]

As he got closer, Cortona noticed that he was, in fact, drunk.  He had to be.  How else would he be so... off, and still be able to survive in the slums.  Kitty?!  Oh no he did NOT! Cortona thought angrily to herself.  She growled again and began backing slowly out of the alley.  Who was this guy?!  She wanted to talk or yell at him, but for some reason, she couldn't find her speech.  All she could do was growl and back away.  Instincts? she thought.  That would be her best guess.

The man stopped as he heard the growling for the first time. He looked at her confused, why was she growling? He hunched over even more, seeming to be out of energy. He went to take a step toward her, but this time, his foot got caught on something. He tripped, and in his attempt to right his self, leaned right and collided with a pile of trash bags. He disappeared within them, his legs the only thing sticking out. There was a light moan as it seemed he passed out.

[Remedy]

Cortona felt kind of bad when the man collapsed into the trash bags.  She didn't want to leave him there, but she didn't know if it was some sort of trick.  After all, when you're in the Slums, you learn that not everyone is trustworthy. Still...  Going against her instincts, Cortona cautiously walked up to the collapsed man and began pushing the trash bags aside.  Soon he was unburied, and she didn't know what else to do.  She backed a few feet away and sat down, waiting for something to happen.

The man leaned up in one swift motion, eyes focused on her, then fell back. His hands up and his fingers swirling around in circles.
"Twinkle, twinkle, little..." He started singing.
It seemed he was delusional or just plastered. Before he finished the song he started to sweat, and a puddle seemed to form under his back. It was weird and if anyone would look closely would see there was something more to him then just being drunk.

[Remedy]

It scared Cortona half to death when the man shot up.  It worried her when he started singing and sweating, though.  "Are you okay?" she asked.  He may not be able to understand her, but she was curious and worried.  He was beginning to seem less drunk and more... crazy.

The man was unresponsive, seeming to be in his own world. He looked at her, still lying down.
"Well hello there angel." He said, smiling.
His eyes slowly closed and he seemed to finally pass out. A light snore escaped from his mouth as he rolled over. Pulling a trash bag close to him like a teddy bear.

[Remedy]

Well, this was akward.  Cortona sat quietly, simply staring at the man.  She didn't want to leave, but it just seemed... Wierd for her to stay.  Even so, she stood her ground.  She didn't have much to do, but she growled off a few people who were eyeing the man as if he had something of value.  Soon she just laid down about five feet from the man and put her head on her paws, though she had no intention of sleeping.

The day soon passed on to night and the man soon sat up and looked around. Had he fallen asleep? In some strange alleyway? With garbage? He jumped up and seemed to shiver with disgust.
"What...What happened?" He asked, his voice full and calming.
He looked over and noticed the Lucain, had it been there the whole time? He scratched his head, this was all so weird. He looked around, what had all gone on? He tried to remember that had all happened, but it seemed his mind went blank before the day even began.

[Remedy]

Cortona jumped in surprise again when the man sat up.  She was even more startled when he spke in such a normal voice, nothing like what he had sounded like before.  "You're... Okay?" she asked it in a wierd tone, as if she were asking if he was sane and also actually okay.  He still may not understand her, though.

The man scratched his head, what did she mean? Had she been with him during the time he couldn't remember?
"Were you here before I fell asleep?" He asked, looking around embarrassed.
He pointed to the trash area he had awoke in.
"What was I doing in there?" He added.
He looked down at his self, what a mess he was.
"And what happened to me?"

[Remedy]

Cortona nodded.  Why was this man suddenly sane?  He was completely off his block earlier, and now he was making full sentences and acting... Normal?  At least he could understand her.  "You were crazy.  Either drunk or crazy.  You collapsed, started singing, started sweating, and you fell asleep, and... Here we are.  Who are you, by the way?" she asked curiously.  He obviously couldn't be from around here...
