Right now, your name is Hector. That fact is important to remember, because you are about to embark on the trip of your life. Things may change. In fact, you'll be disappointed if they don't.
You'd just better hope you're ready, because this is gonna be good.

[Chayden]

If you're gonna be honest with yourself, this is really stupid. You're young. You're dumb. You're homeless, undereducated; the finest of all middle-school dropouts.
You don't even know what this drug is called, but it's all gonna be worth it: you're being paid for this.

[Chayden]

The guy was the shadiest of the shady. You met him behind one of your favorite slummy bars. You were having a smoke; he was popping some choice pills. He might have snorted a line as well, in the first few seconds you were with him.
You don't know, because if your momma ever taught you anything, it was how to be polite on the streets.

[Chayden]

He was bopping his head to some sort of beat that only he could hear. It was hella early, perhaps five in the afternoon. The club hadn't even started playing music yet.
Why were you both out there, then? Because you're both made of the street.

[Chayden]

It's all you eat and all you breathe. You assume that it's the same for him, but you know not to ask. It's bad enough that you've made any sort of business deal with this fellow, but hell, it's only between you two.
You take the meow, and he pays you. That's all.

[Chayden]

You being yourself, you know not to turn down cold hard cash when you see it. It's 19xx, and 3 dollars goes a long way. You suppose that you'll only buy more drugs with it.
Like you said, you eat and breathe the streets. You eat the food that you can steal from it and breathe the smoke from the drugs that you buy off of it.

[Chayden]

You've never gotten caught. You're a natural, a street urchin born and raised. Your daddy lived in a dumpster and your momma lived in the cardboard box beside it... Or at least that's what you tell people. Truth is, you don't want nothin' to do with the gang affiliations of your parents.

[Chayden]

Your momma was a prostitute. Was she a clean one? Fuck no. Are you a clean kid?
You don't know the answer to that one.

[Chayden]

Your daddy owned a club or two. He didn't have the money to start them up in the first place, and he wasn't strong enough to sell drugs. He was sort of a flop, when it came to being part of the streets. You ditched his name a long fucking time ago because of it.
You only knew him as Sir, so it weren't that hard to do.

[Chayden]

He was big, sure, but he was dumb. He fancied himself a military man, but all he was was some fodder for the front lines. You know, those ones that are meant to be killed. The meat shields.
The government likes to call them the martyrs, sometimes, but there ain't no cause in the wars they're fightin'.

[Chayden]

No one's ever told you that you resemble your daddy. You never told no one who he was. No one never asked, neither. You're just another stupid 16-year-old slummer; what do they care?
You're just as good standing there as you are paving the streets beneath their tires.

[Chayden]

But back to your gentleman caller!
He's a big bloke. A hardcore drug man. You've seen him around before; you'd say you'd recognize that black coat anywhere, but truth is, everyone's wearin' one nowadays. You oughta get yourself one.

[Chayden]

This man sniffed his finger real good and lit your cig all polite-like. He said, "You sure look like you'd be up to make a quick buck."
The first thing you thoughta that was that he wanted you to be his whore real quick, but that wasn't the case.
He pulled out a little snap-purse and tapped a bit of its contents into his hand.
"This, my boy, is what I'm payin' ya for."

[Chayden]

You told him that you ain't had any good money for months. The only things you can afford are the stokes that you're smokin' now.
"Naaaaw, kid. This here magic drug is in the preliminary stages. All that means is that you take it, you tell me how your trip goes, and I give ya three whole dollars. How's it sound?"

[Chayden]

Naturally, that was the nicest mess a words that'd been tossed between your ears in a while. You didn't even ask him nothing about the drug.
"I'll do it," you said.
"Take one, kid. An hour later, take another, an' if you're still alive after that, take a third."
