Now was the real test. Using her arms to lift her body, which felt much lighter than before she lowered herself onto her feet. Not even a flicker of pain, still that soreness tough. Maybe it was the drugs? Ella glanced at her arms, there was only an IV keeping her hydrated. So no drugs as far as she could tell. Though there was something clouding her mind. Testing her weight on her feet she found they could hold her steady. Though for the sake of everyone in the hospital she decided only to step out of the room for a few moments.

Walking to the door wasn’t a struggle but when she got there she found the door was locked. From the inside or the outside. In the darkness she couldn’t really tell and her head was starting to make her vision swim. All of the sudden she felt like she hadn’t slept for weeks. How odd, before she hadn’t felt tired at all. She reached for the door again but her hand missed. Something was definitely wrong.

She tried to turn around but ended up sort of half spinning half collapsing. Still no pain but Ella could not get a grasp on what was happening. Maybe there was pain but she forgot what it felt like. She didn’t really know anymore. Ella tried to call out but nothing came to her. Instead her head blackened and she felt the cool floor come up to meek her hot cheeks.

Two weeks later…
“Tia you’ll be fine.” A man’s voice came from the dark figure standing in the middle of a four way intersection. “You don’t understand.” Tia growled, her eyes flashing a fierce red. The reason I came to you was so I could help her.” Tia cut her sentence short not want to show this demon her true emotion. It didn’t work very well. “Now she’s dead.” Tears welled up in her eyes. “I can always take you to her.” the demon suggested. Tia laughed harshly. “It’ll only be temporary and after I’ll get thrown back out here. I’d rather die for good.” The demon smiled cruelly. “That can be arranged.” It growled. “do it.” Tia said finally, letting the tears fall from her eyes.
