The slums are a rundown, old heap of a town tucked deep in the jungles, with townsfolk consisting mostly of poachers, black marketeers, thieves, and fugitives. While the ideal tourist spot, some travel to the Slums to make use of the black markets. (+2 Defense, +2 Speed)

Return to The Slums

Something borrowed (Leander & I)

The slums, it seemed only natural that he would be sent here. The city was filled with ruffians. He shoved a hand through his blond hair and sighed. He could search every house and find a stolen item. At least the item he was looking for was unique. A pendant that has some magical powers, the woman who hired him had seemed pretty shaken up about it being missing. He stepped onto the Main Street, might as well try the shops to see if anyone was trying to sell it. This far south the weather was hot and the sun was shining. On Main Street there were plenty of people waking and driving. He started looking for the nearest magic and jewelry shops. He hoped today would be his lucky day and that he would have to break into any houses or break any noses.

I was pacing back in forth the same thought continuing through my head where was it where was it. Some one has it and I need it back immediately. He's out there looking for it now but I can't wait what if he's isn't trying hard enough. I can't take that chance it has to be out there, the amulet is my key to being human. My mind is made up I'm going to help him no matter what if he likes it or not this necklace means more to me than anything and I can't just put that in his hands to find I need to be there.
I was finally in the main street trodding quickly he could not have made it far i have come  to find him, continue with him on his journey no matter how far it took us I paided him and he will deal with me through thick and thin.

"Oh no" Malek groaned as he saw the paragons blue head swimming through the crowd. They had only spoken or a few moments, maybe she had forgotten what he looked like. He was rarely pursued by the people who hired him. He rubbed his face with his hands. He was marginally interested in what had brought her to him. The thought was pushed away as she it closer. He couldn't have someone following him around while he worked. There would be a higher chance he'd be caught if they had to do something risky.

Still he couldn't have he woman wandering the slums alone. He turned to face her. He didn't say anything he had come her to do his job. She could explain her reason for coming and he could talk her out of joining him. "Maybe she just has some more information" Malek tried to reassure himself. It wasn't working, he worked alone he always worked alone.

Yes I saw him finally he looked very unhappy when he saw me but he continued to come closer and I'm glad he did not run away. I noticed he was amuletless and I sighed with disappointment. I seem to have been secretly hoping that he had found it already but as I thought still nothing. Malek had a hard face on and new that he was going to protest on me coming. He had made a big deal that he worked alone and and there was no exceptions not even me, however he might change his mind if I up the price to bigger amount that might be more suitable for his burden of traveling with me. See he might be stubborn but I am too stubborn maybe even more expecially when it comes to my valuables.

"Would you like something?" He asked, venom dripped from his tone. She looked like she was going to put up a fight. "Listen I told you before I'd get your necklace." He growled. "How am I supposed to do that with you in my way?" He asked, "I'm not," he said not allowing her to answer. "I am a professional, I'll get you necklace and I'll bring it attributed to you once I have it." He sighed. "I'm not your babysitter and I don't want to be." He huffed, Malek turned away from her now and started walking away, his eyes locked on the stores.
