"Hmm..." So this was where color was supposed to be?

It had taken some time for him to even arrive at the edge of the continent, and to be greeted with the depressing sight of a colorless ocean from atop the high cliffside. Orion had some serious doubts of his own about this plan Elizabeth had concocted...

Somewhere out there beneath the turbulent waves, it was up to him to seek out what they needed. But now that he was here, the equally as colorless dragon couldn't help but notice that nobody else had arrived before him.

That was actually rather problematic... as he was supposed to rendezvous with another group right about now.

Without that crucial meeting, he would have no way of retrieving the color on his own. For Elizabeth's group and Tenebrae's group had the only two devices that they'd been given. So the plan was for him to come here and meet up with either one that showed up first so that they could pass theirs on to him.

They were late...

Was it possible that something had happened at their locations? He could only begin to wonder as he stood around watching the water smashing against the rocks down below.

If they weren't going to be able to make it on time, then sitting around waiting wasn't going to do any of them much good. He might not have much choice here. Should it take too long for one of the groups to get here, then perhaps he'd have to take on a different approach here...

He would still be looking straight on down from the edge of the cliff, but now his thinking had shifted. Up until now, he hadn't been considering how far the drop actually was. If the color was truly somewhere in the ocean like they said, and he was the only one that was probably capable of doing this, he needed to figure a way to get his massive body down into the water.

It was still a huge maybe, as his specialty was more about earth than water.

It was possible for him to hold his breath for a fairly lengthy amount of time, but to do that sort of thing in an ocean? With unimaginable depths depending on how far out he had to go? That was asking a lot out of the once green dragon.

Still, not a single soul could dare call him a coward. As much as he disliked this plan, and hated having to actually listen to the tiny human's orders, he was still going to do it.

And just why exactly was he going to do this, even at the risk of possibly drowning? Well, the simple fact was that he was tired of all this colorlessness going on. He especially missed the shiny green glitter of his scales that he was so proud of.

Most of all, he was sick of hearing everyone else complain about the fact that there was no more color in the world. That sort of statement wouldn't even be very true if he managed to find something down on the seafloor.

He would quickly make up his mind, after barely giving the other groups a chance to arrive.

Orion wasn't going to wait around, and waste time. Instead he was going to do some investigating of his own. They could sort out the actual retrieval process after he found the stupid thing. If he found anything.

As nice as it would've been to go with a more direct approach in getting down the cliff, he had enough common sense to know that he wouldn't be able to survive a sudden drop like that without suffering major injuries of some sort once he reached the bottom. Instead, he would be going the slower route around to find a lower area, and jump in from there.

The water would turn out to be colder than initially expected. Diving headfirst into the ocean the moment he thought it safe enough to do so, he grit his teeth the moment the chill hit him.

His inner fire would work to keep his temperature at a safe enough range, but from now on only sluggish brute strength would be his weapon and tool for whatever may happen while he was down here. There would be no torching his enemies to a crisp from this point on.

From down here, the light from the afternoon sun would filter itself through the salty water. It was enough that he could make out most detail, though there wasn't too much going on. It was just the same boring monochromatic environment like before, made up of elaborate rock formations and sand.

He could feel the tug of the currents against his body, but with the extra pair of arms on his back, he swam down to keep himself hunkered down against the stony surface of the seafloor by grabbing onto anything that would anchor him in place.

There used to be a time where he missed his old trusty pair of wings that got replaced with the arms after he obtained this form, but today he was very grateful that he now had these instead. It made navigating along the bottom of the sea much easier than trying to swim around like a fish. As no matter how bad the current would start to get, he could just pull himself to the direction he wanted to go. Not even nature would be able to stop him in his search.

It was quite fitting for a dragon as stubborn as him.

His weight and strength would be the only troublesome things to come up as he dragged himself along further and further away from land. The shape of the terrain shifting downward at a gradual rate at first, but quickly became more steep as he gained more distance.

There would be certain spots along the way that wouldn't hold up as well when he came by and crushed it with ease. Damaging things along the way wasn't intentional, but it certainly hampered his progress somewhat.

As he was going further down into the depth of the ocean, the visibility he once had would start vanishing. Things were definitely getting harder to see, now that the natural light began to fail him down here.

But still he could see no color anywhere...

Soon he would stop in his slow going tracks, as he came up to an incredibly steep drop. He could see absolutely nothing down there, as everything faded into blackness. There would be no way for him to find anything if he couldn't see...

While he wasn't worried about how much oxygen he still had left, it would be very problematic if he just blundered on without a plan here. Going down there would not be a good idea at this point, but if the color was somewhere down there, he needed to find it.

Looking around, there were still other placed to search. Including a few natural caves by the looks of it. Perhaps he could find something useful in there? He doubted it, but he may as well try. If it came down to it, he'd go back to the surface to get help.

As much as he hated the idea of asking for help, the importance of this mission made it very likely that he'd have to set aside his pride, if it came down to it.

But that was a "later" problem. For now he would check out one of the caves.

Hauling himself closer to one of the larger openings he could locate, he took a moment to examine it more carefully. After which he concluded that he probably wasn't going to really even fit in there... Yet another disadvantage to being a giant dragon... Orion held back the urge to snort a plume of smoke in frustration.

Thinking for a moment, Orion glanced up towards the surface for just a brief moment.

If the opening were a little larger, he could get to the network of caves within. Which he could absolutely do, though the natural terrain would wind up taking a huge hit. All he'd have to do is dig right through. Certain people wouldn't like this approach, but nobody was around to know about it.

Once that crossed his mind, the direct approach sounded rather appealing.

So without another moment of hesitation, he placed his large claws from both sets of arms against the stone, and started tearing it apart.
