Sal blinked, not quite believing what had happened.  It was impossible to believe.  A once in a Blue Moon chance!

A trickle of blood from his injury dripped past his eye and reminded him that it had happened.

Using his staff as a crutch, he tried to focus on the gold pieces at his feet.  They further proof that the seemingly impossible had happened.  Somehow, Medhas had escaped.

Sal's visit to Jawan had started simple enough.  He had simply come to purchas some medicine for a sick friend.  It wasn't supposed to end with a demonic magician breaking free of the seal Sal had placed on him a year ago, getting mortally injured, and then watching Medhas gallop off, ready to enjoy his new freedom on the unsuspecting civilians.

But it had.  And the blood from the wound on his head and the broken golden band were proof.

Three fenlings walked through the city streets. The tresure noticed a meji looking over some gold peices on the ground. With a glance at the other two, she walked ahead. "Hello. Is something wrong?" she asked. The other two caught up to her fast. Realizing her mistake, the treasure quickly blurted out their names. "Oh, I'm Gemglaze, this is Bluetail and his sister Cottoncandy. You may call us Glaze, Blue, and Candy." she said, gesturing to the other two when she mentioned their names. The two siblings glanced at each other. They could just tell that something was wrong.

Three pets were walking along when they heard the voices of some friends. The Nyghtmare, being in the lead, walked around the building, the two felloxes following. When he saw Candy and Blue, he knew who it was instantly. He walked up to them. "What's going on?" he asked them. One of the Felloxes, noticing the Meji, inclined her head. "Sorry to intrude, I'm Articwind, and this is my twin sister, Tropicwind. Please call us by Artic and Tropic." she said as her twin inclined her head. Noticing that the Nyghtmare wasn't going to introduce himself, Tropic introduced him. "He...is Shadowdreamer, yet he is called Dreamer." she said. Her voice was noticably warm and sweet. While her twin had a cool and soft voice.

Sal blinked again.  This was becoming a habit lately.  He didn't even notice or acknowledge the six pets that had appeared.  "I-impossible," he managed to stutter.  A horrible shudder racked his body as a searing pain from his wound spread through his entire cranium.  

Despite the pain though, his gaze continued to remain focused on the shattered gold band.  "I-impossible," he stuttered again.  Then he fell to his knees and slumped over.

Glaze gasped when the meji slumped over. "Are you alright?" she said as she dove forward. She slid in between the meji and the ground. Seeing what happened, Blue and Candy rushed forward to help her. Blue looked at Dreamer. "A little help please?" he asked. Candy gestured to the twin felloxes for help too. The poor meji didn't look well.

The problem was a bit more evident now.  Sal had been wearing a what was once a green bowlers hat. However, most of the back was darker and wet.  Near his right ear, the hat was torn revealing a horrible wound as large a fist.  It looked as if something had torn at him with talons while, at the same time, kicked him with the heel of his/her shoe.

He looked up at Glaze, seeming to notice her for the first time.  He looked at Dreamer and shuddered violently.

Venom Draculi (Fang)

Temple Hollowheart (Akumai)

 Fang walked along through the alleyways of Jawan casually, looking from stall to stall a large bag of keystones bouncing up and down from a gold ring at the base of her tail. Normally the Venom Draculi would have been a bit more suddle about the fact that she had alot of money on her, being as pretty as she was she attracted enough of unwanted attention as it is, but today she had no fear. She could handle herself perfectly in a fight if worst came to worst but few people would pick one with her seeing as today she was accompianied by Akumai, a very large male Temple Hollowheart. Whistling slightly she walked along content when suddenly she gasped and fell to the floor, pain engulfing her. "Fang!" She felt the Hollowheart's tail wrap around her in an attempt to help her up and could feel the eyes of worried on goers but she didn't care. "No." she whispered as her eyes looked around wildly. Using Clever Wrestling, one of her traits, she shot out darting at a blinding speed her Lifesense shooting into overdrive. "No." She hissed as she darted through alleyways shoving confused people and pets, her companion flying speedily behind her trying to catch up. Jumping agily she finally broke from the crowds until she ran into a once desserted passage way. Ahead of her were several different pets and what appeared to be an injured Meji. Her eyes going back to normal and her herat racing less fast she sighed as she realised what had happened. No, she thought partly relieved, it isn't HIM but, she gave a small hiss looking around, whatever it was it wasn't human. Giving another sigh she walked up to the creatures and to the Meji. "Need some help? We've got a place where he can rest." The draculi announced her calm demeanor back as she indicated the Meji with a nod of her head.  Behind her she heard Akumai's aggitated sigh, he wasn't used to being aorund others and was especially not used to such strange emotions, if any. Whatever he was thinking the Hollowheart simply walked forward and began the task of picking the Meji up, his massive jaws suddenly tender. "Come on." He said gruffly.

Sal's staff dropped to the ground as he was lifted up.  The polished wood with the silver and bronze bands fell with a small clatter beside the Felloxes.   It was humming weakly, as if it was in tune with its master.

Sal went completely limp then, finding no more strenght (sp?) to remain conscious.

Sensing the Meji's fear of him, Dreamer didn't follow his friends to help. The last thing needed was more fear. His eyes swept across the golden peices. They looked like, when put together, they would fit on a horse-like creature. Were they on a Penticorn? Or maybe a Cavallion. he thought, then remembering the Meji's unease around him, he shook his head. No. Neither. It must be a Nyghtmare. Like me. he thought, then his head looked up as two newcomers appeared. He watched the hollowheart pick up the meji, then looked to the others. He moved forward, realizing that the Meji was unconcious.

The twin felloxes just watched as each event unfolded before them. Occasionally, one would turn to the other, unsure of what to do, only to just keep watching. When two other pets arrived, they backed up. They weren't used to being around so many pets. They watched as the Hollowheart picked up the Meji. The Meji's staff clattered to the ground, and they looked at each other yet again. The oldest, Artic, stepped forward and prodded the staff. Sensing it was safe, she bent down and picked it up, Tropic moving forward to help her.

Akumai winced inwardly as he felt the pet's eyes on him but continued to carefully pick up the Meji, surprised at how gentle he could be, especially since as a Temple pet, he was made of stone. Twisting his neck so that the neji wouldn't be moved alot he layed him carefully between his wings. He'd have to walk through the corwds,so that the rabbit-creature wouldn't fall but he didn't mind much, he was powerfully built and had a forebording look about him, the kind that made people give him space, even in crowded streets. But what did worry him was the anxious scent coming off of Fang and the strange wounds of the Meji. Someone really beat this poor guy up, he thought grimly as he eyed Fang, and whoever did it is enough to make even her worry. Shaking his head he walked forward and looked at the others as he did a quick calculation in his head. "Are you coming? We have enough rooms left back in the inn." Turning back around he walked off slowly, adjustuing his wings every once in awhile to protect the Meji as his mind tried to fit the pecies of what happened together.

 Fang glanced up at Akumai as he walked off and her eyes softened slightly as she watched how gentle the giant HollowHeart was treating the Meji. She always got in fights with the dragon and hated how easily he could get her riled but she couldn't help but smile at him. Shaking her head, suddenly aggitated at herself she looked around. First at the golden peices by the Nyghtmare and then at the staff the fellox was holding. She shook slightly as once again she was reminded of the aura she had sensed before. Shaking her head to rid of the unwanted thoughts the Draculi walked over calmly to the Nyghtmare, nodded at him, and began to pick up the gold peices before turning her attention to both the Nyghtmare and the Fellox holding the staff. "Could you guys help me carry this? I'm known for my speed not my strength. Oh and could you bring that staff?"

The pieces were cold to the touch.  Even the ones in Fang's paws seemed to fail to warm up.  

By contrast, the staff was warm.  It felt as if it had been lying out in the sun all day and it wasn't getting any colder or warmer.  It was vibrating enough to make Artic's teeth go numb though.  It was as if it was both sad and angry over whatever had happened.

Irritated by the vibrating of the staff, Artic wheeled around and dropped it on her sister's back. Shaking her head to get rid of the sensation, she turned to the Draculi and nodded. "We will carry the staff." she said in her cool, crisp voice. Then she turned and helped Tropic with the uncomfortable staff.

Dreamer didn't notice the others talking. He just stared down the alley, thinking. A Nyghtmare...what could it be like, if the poor meji got hurt and is scared. Plus it seemed to have been contained before now. he looked down at his leg and the gold pieces I don't need one of those. I never met such an...evil...Nyghtmare. Snapping out it, he noticed the three fenlings, his friends, that were just standing around. "Come on." he said, nudging them.

The staff's humming continued.  For one swift moment it jerked itself from on top of Tropic's back.  It swiveled towards the broken gold pieces as if it was pointing to it insistantly.

Snapping to attention, Candy looked around. She had been standing there, just watching and listening, unable to bring herself to speak or do something else. She looked at the other two fenlings and figured they must have been the same. She smiled at Dreamer, then nudged her brother, who in turn, snapped to attention and nudged Glaze. Glaze looked around, blinked, then stood. "Sorry about that." she said, embarrased. Blue stood and stepped forward, placing the staff back on the twin felloxes' backs. Just as he began to wonder about the staff, Candy stepped forward. "Obviously there is something important we need to know involving the gold peices." she said. Sometimes the two siblings were so close, they acted like twins.

Whatever importance the pieces held quickly became insignificant.  In the distance, the sun was beginning to set and boats were coming up the docks.  The cold pieces glittered one final time in the sunlight before disintergating into ash.

The moment the pieces died, the staff let out a high pitch screech not unlike running a claws on a chalkboard.  Sparks began to fly just above the silver band.
