Refugee Relocation Project [Part 1] (P)

Kandinnat paced nervously. The ship should be here soon. Or should it be here already? She couldn't remember the exact time. She checked her watch. Where were the other volunteers, anyway? Why wasn't the ship here yet? Was it the wrong day? What if the ship had been attacked? What if no one else showed up and she had to take seven refugees across Barakka by herself?

Oh, there was the ship. Good, good. As long as the other volunteers showed up soon. She watched the refugees as they climbed down from the ship.

Image

Flint grinned as the ship docked at Jawan. They were here. Good. Maybe soon he'd see his sister and brother again. He actually missed Bullfinch and Fissure, though he'd never admit it.

He looked along the side of the ship at the other refugees. He didn't know them; he'd never seen them before this project thing had started. What would it be like to cross Barakka with them?

Then he was half bounding, half rolling down the gangplank, landing on the dock with a hollow thump. There were supposed to be some volunteers. Where were they? Ah, there was the Bleach Ferrikoon they'd talked about. He rolled over to her and sat down, looking around, taking in all the sights of Jawan.

So. he was here to take some kids across Barakka...great. at least it where kids. he liked
kids a lot but where the hell where they? Lime green eyes scanned across the ships and stuck to one
where a group of young pets where standing. //aha// Whip threw away his cigarette, stepped out
of the shadow of a big ship and approached them. He prefered his human form right now, first because it was more easy for him to be human in a city and second because he thought that a rather big snake wouldnt be that trustworthy to possibly already scarred kids and worried volunteers.
His human form wasn't that calming either, being very pale and dressed in
a black suit with a tophat. He then saw Kandinnat
and walked up to her first. "Hello there Ma'am" he greeted. "I guess you are the leader of this
whole Project?"
Whips piercing eyes met hers, looking quite amused.

Image

She looked arround on the ship. wow, she didnt knew that there where 6 more refugees.
Arwen looked at them all with great interrest, wondering what their stories where. the ship stopped
and the first to go down the gangway was the rollaby. she tilted her head to one side,
fluffed her wings but stayed on board, waiting for the others to go first. she hated it to be the first
or second.
Cannot say, I'm breaking the rules

Kandinnat blinked when the Slydra spoke to her. "Um, yes. I'm Kandinnat. You must be Whip." She looked back up at the ship. Wasn't Whip the one who had done this to avoid going to jail or something? She'd rather not think about it.

She looked at the Venom Rollaby by her feet. "What's your name?" She tried to sound friendly, but not like one of those super-happy camp counselors. Ugh.

To her surprise, the Rollaby smiled and said, "I'm Flint. You're Kandinnat. They told us that on the ship." Maybe this would be easier than she'd thought.

Now there was a Slydra here too. That must be Whip. The RRP agents had told them about all the volunteers. Or him, anyway. Flint smiled at the thought that he might be the only one to know.

Then Kandinnat asked him his name. Okay, good, she wasn't one of those creepy exuberant counselor types. He hated them. They were the reason he'd never gone to summer camp. He decided to tell the truth for once. "I'm Flint. You're Kandinnat. They told us that on the ship."

For some reason, Kandinnat looked less nervous when he said that. Weird.

(Once everyone's here, I might try to set up a posting order, just to keep everyone's heads from exploding.)

Perched on a nearby building, two figures watched a nearby boat come in. One had bright blue hair tied in a high ponytail, and was dressed in a electric blue belly shirt, and pale white sweatpants. Of course, this was not the best outfit to spy, but that was the second figure's job. Sitting upon the first one's shoulder was a small, black Rattegan with all sorts of orange markings decorating its body.

Aliuvial gripped the note in her hand from her master. Apparently she was here to find some silly refugees and bring them back home. But her favorite part: Any that fought back, was free game. Smiling slyly, Aliuvial traced the blade on her knife. Oh how the sweet weapon yearned to kiss the neck of another unfortunate victim.

"Patience, Aliuvial. Remember, we must do everything we can NOT to kill them."

The Voltage girl grimaced, and silently swore. Why was it that Seakul always found the right words to ruin the fun? But no matter, all she would do is nod and ignore him. The usual routine.

"I mean it. Boss will not be happy if you disobey him. You of all people should know."

Aliuvial lightly touched a scar on her neck and winced. Oh yes, she knew all too well. Releasing the grip upon her knife, she rolled her shoulders as she heard footsteps. It was about time her crew arrived.

"You're late."

((Seakul's words and thoughts are Seakul, and Aliuvial's words and thoughts are Aliuvial.))

Arwen looked at the newcomer curiously. he looked kinda funny and the Ferrikoon seemed
to be very nice, so she decidet to go there too. She glided down from the ship, flapping
heavily to stop and landet infront of them. //whew! have to practice landing...//
she thought. She looked at Flint, Kandinnat and Whip, then wrote 'My name is Arwen'
with one claw into the ground. To her it was upside down, so the others could read it. She
learned writing pretty early, and writing upside down wasnt that hard either. Looking up
again, she smiled sweetly and waited for more people to come.

"jep, that's my name" Whip said, nodding to both her and Flint. The Slydra looked down
at the two children, and a short moment he seemed to be lost in thought.
//strange...they dont seem to be scared or traumatized because of their past//
well okay that little Sygriff didnt talk, but she could be mute also...
He greeted both Flint and Arwen, then turned back at Kandinnat.
"hmm...where are the others? It thought there where 2 more volunteers"
he asked

(that would be a good idea, exploding heads are bad XD)

Kandinnat smiled at the Sygriff. "Hello, Arwen. Welcome to Jawan." Then she turned back to Whip and sighed. "There should be, yes. They seem to be a little late. But as long as they show up, this should work out. I bet even you would hate for it to fail..." She stopped herself before she could say anything else. If she couldn't get along with the other volunteers, this project would fall through. And she well remembered the last time that had happened.

Suddenly she felt her fur stand on end. Someone was watching them. She whirled around to look at the nearest roof to see...

...that there was nothing there. She was really getting way too worried about this. Maybe she should see a psychiatrist.

Flint read the writing on the ground and smiled at the Sygriff. Apparently she couldn't talk. Oh well, nobody's perfect. But after they left Jawan, it might be harder to write on the ground...

"Hey, Arwen. I'm Flint," he said. "Here, I think I have a way to make it easier for you to talk when the ground is too hard to write on." He pulled out a pen and a notebook and held them out to her.

Most of the orphans back home wouldn't have believed him capable of kindness. He had spent his days there pulling pranks and doing other "bad" things. He was a good kid, really, but no one ever seemed to like him. He'd decided to show them...but obviously his plan hadn't worked so well. Probably the only reason he was leaving for this Barakka country was because the wardens couldn't stand him anymore.

Coryn sat with a raise of his left eyebrow.

"I'm late for nothing. I was informed of an...interesting...job down here. No time was given."

It was true enough. The Baskerville had heard, or rather he forced some information about a job involving the capture of some refugees. Of course, all he needed to here was that he was free to kill any who resisted. They were the magic words.

He flicked his lethal tail and almost casually said, "I thought I'd take it, the job that is. Only common courtesy. After all, the man who informed me of the job won't be coming. He is otherwise occupied." It was a less than pleasant killer's way of saying: 'Your man was stupid enough to get killed...by me...so I'll be filling in for the idiot.'

"I cringe.
The sound of my voice rips through me.
They scream.
The sound of my laughter stabs them.
He cowers.
The sound of his breathing betrays him.
I smile.
Only the sound of my music remains."

Biofang,Imperialfangs, Owyr

Owyr was looking, happily, at the boat. She saw a couple raptors getting off...intresting.

Biofang looked at Imperialfangs.
"Brother! Brother! We're here!" She litteraly leaped off the boat, the raather grouchy imperial serraptor following.
Biofang saw Flint and ran over.
"Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! I'm Bio! Bio! Who are you? You?" She was hyper.

Imperial, meanwhile, had walked over to the Illumiyel. He lightly snarled, "Hey."
"Hi. Talk to Kandinnat, I have no clue how this works."
"Because you're an idiot." Imperial dashed over to Kandinnat.
"Hello," he said grouchily.

Kandinnat sighed. Yeah, she should have known that this wouldn't be easy. "Hello. Who are you? And before you answer that, please remember that I don't have to be doing this and you could still be stuck in Wheretheheckistan if I hadn't decided to." She'd seen the way the Imperial had acted toward Owyr. He'd been very...imperious. She smiled a little at that. Also, she was much less worried now that Owyr was here.

Flint blinked. "Hi...Bio. I'm Flint. Um. Nice to meet you." He wasn't used to exuberant people. He'd lived in a war zone for most of his life, for crying out loud! But he had to try to be friendly. This was a chance to make new friends. And although he knew it sounded cheesy, it was a new country, a new world. A new life.

(We're still waiting for Ravean and jaden_wolf. Once they show, we can start heading for the Slums.)

Whip raised one eyebrow, then chuckeled softly at Kandinatt's comment.
"jes, EVEN I would hate to fail. Happened lately, wasnt too pleasing"
he had an extremely sarcasical tone while saying that, although he couldnt blame her.
he was used to this, and he wouldnt cause any trouble as long as he wouldnt be commandet
arround like a dog or something. He looked over to the building where she suddently was glaring,
feeling slightly uneasy. "...What...?"  he felt like someone was watching them but was distracted again by two Serraptors. //whooo...someone had to much sugar.or
other stuff...//
the other one seemed to be
a little grouchy. Well he would be too, being stuck on a boat for this long. He looked over at Owyr,
guessing that she was another Volunteer.

Arwen took the notebook and the pen, looking very happy.
she wrote 'Thank you very much Flint! that is very kind of you'
on the notebook, showed it to him and before thinking about it
she gave him a light hug. her eyes sparkled when the other three
arrived. She introduced herself by pointing at the ground where her
name stood, seeing no point in writing it again.

Owyr walked over to Kandinnat. "I'm here. Volunteer Owyr, the part of the spirit of Illyemeil..."
Bio looked at Whip. "Hi! Hi!" she said, jumpingf up and down. Imperial facepalmed.
"Sorry 'bout my sis." Grouchy as he might be, he liked this fellow. Seemed to have a mind of his own.

Imperial then turned to Kandinnat. "I am Imperial. Imperial Serraptor...That's my sister, Bio. She's always like this. Eternally the harbringer of joy and thanksgiving," he said sarcastically.

Annata (Anna) and Sunrise

A small head peered off the ship nervously. Eventually, on all fours, she made her way to the ground below, glancing at the surroundings. They were not was she was used to, not scary or full of fear, yet she didn't know what to believe anymore. She once thought she would not be touched by the war in the comfort of her home, but that was an illusion. What's to say this isn't either. Seeing the group in front of her, the rabbot slowly came forward, nearly flattened to the ground as if she would bolt any second. "Y-you are...vol-volunteers? Nice p-people? I'm An-Annata. Though I'm called...was called Anna." She spoke timidly, her voice stuttering as she visibly shook from frayed nerves.

Soft, almost unheard footsteps came up behind the group and a serraptor came into view, the sunlight gleaming off her golden scales. "Is this the war relief group? I'm Sunrise, one of the volunteers." Her head was raised in confidence and she seemed sure of herself, though she kept flicking her eyes to a spot nearby that she was getting a strange yet familiar feeling about. It reminded her of the hunters who used to stalk her all those years ago. Ignoring it for the moment, she looked around at the group, not really being able to tell the volunteers apart from the refugees. The only exceptions were the ferrikoon (the head of the project, duh), the...er, snakish humanoid - slydra maybe...(no refugee would be wearing clothes like that), and the poor little rabbot shaking on the ground (obviously not a volunteer). She knew the names of Kandinnat, Arwen (the ground), and Anna, who she happened to hear, but no one else.
You can pretend that when you hear my voice, darling, it's your choice not to fall in.

But it's all an act, 'cause I know exactly what you're wanting. You know it's what I'm wanting

Boy I know what you desire, oh, you're such a bad, bad liar

This could be perfection, or venom dripping in your mouth

Singing like a Siren, love me while your wrists are bound

Kandinnat turned around. "You say your name is Sunrise? Yes, you're in the right place." Then she took a hesitant step forward. "Hello, Annata. Yes, we're volunteers. We're going to help you find a new home." She crossed of numbers in her head. Two refugees were still missing. Where could they possibly be?

Flint stared openly at the Rabbot. What could possibly have happened to make her this way? Were there even worse aspects of the war than those he'd experienced? He wasn't sure he wanted to know.

((Terribly sorry, peeps. Buisier than I thought...I'm using the eggs' human forms, because we all know how fun it is to roll everywhere.))

ImageImage

The waves crashed dauntingly on the rocky shore, as if trying to push away the refugees back towards their homes. The ravens caws sounded more like orders, 'Go! Fight! Win!', while the seagulls laughed at the depressing scene.
Five refugees sat waiting for the last two, their nerves shot at the wait to get a better, more peaceful life. The two children, the last refugees, bolted down the sidewalk, side by side. The taller one, a girl, had sand brown, messy hair that barely reached her shoulders and fanned outwards, like feathers. Her glare was like venom, while her twitchy mouth told stories of past verbal fights. The younger one, with deep burgandy hair matted across his face and spiked at the back, sped to keep up with what one would guess as his sister. His eyes were constantly on the move, neve being able to keep somone's gaze. They both wore uninspiring clothes, dark and dirty like most runways, and both looked faintly European ((Or whatever the Evelonian equivalent would be)).
"Better...They not...Leave...Out with us!" the girl gasped, too tired to create coherent sentences.
Soon, all their speeding paid off as they neared the ship. They skidded to a halt, nearly coliding with what they hoped was the leader of the group.
"Pleasedon'tleavewe'rehere!" the boy blurted out, much too quickly and high-pitched, fearing if they even wasted a moment, their chance would be gone.Taking a deep breath, he pointed to his sister, and said in slower, deeper voice, "This s'Reena, and," pointing to himself, "I'm Atlas, and we're 'ere for the ship?"
Reena gave a sweet but tired smile and held out a hand. "Meet-Uh, meeting you is nice, yeah?"

From the skies above, a lighter crow circled, his eyes filled with malice. He was sharply fierce-looking and stared down at the group like they were carrion. And, soon enough, they would be.

((By the way, does anyone know once the eggies hatch, if the posts will restart?))

[1-1-1]
she said one day to leave her, sand up to her shoulders waiting for the tide
to drag her to the ocean, to another sea's shore.
this thing hurts like hell,
but what did you expect?

and all you can hear is the sound of your own heart
and all you can feel is your lungs flood and the blood course
but oh I can see five hundred years dead set ahead of me,
five hundred behind,
a thousand years in perfect symmetry...

Imperial sighed. "Imperial. The war was hard, I'm glad to be out of it. When we were young, we were normal. The was was...horrible. I used to love others...I used to care." He laughed. "But the war changed me. It changed Bio to her slightly-insane personality."
Bio, meanwhile, had approched the Rabbot. Completly immune to the creature's fear, she began her usual dialouge-"Hi! Hi! I'm Bio! Bio! Who are you? You?" Her insanity-because she was somewhat insane-was becoming rather apperent.

Owyr sighed. "I'm Owyr. A volunteer. I dislike violence, I have made it my life's mission to stop it, and help its victims."
