G'day Evelon!

Postby Silver » 11/25/2014 9:31 PM

Hi there! I'm not new, but I haven't been active in a really long time so I thought I'd re-introduce myself.

I'm Silver! You may or may not remember me. I'm really bad at introductions!

Uh, I'm Australian! I wasn't always Australian, but I am now. Before you ask, the spiders aren't so bad (but we do check out shoes for them every time), the bats are three feet long, kangaroos and koalas are extremely soft (and LAZY!), and we actually say "g'day" and "mate" a lot. Also the seasons are backwards, it's currently very hot.

Now I'm going to hit submit before I ramble on some more.

Hello, Silverrrr *squishes your face*

God, can you just. Talk about Australia forever. It sounds like such a neat place *v*!!! I want a koala so very very much. i just want to touch one, goodness gracious they're such a silly looking precious animal. I'm speaking in italics because I'm yelling in my mind, but I don't want to yell at you. And good luck in the heat, that sounds kinda awful. Does it get super crazy hot where you live?

*squished purring*

It's quite different from Chicago, where I was originally from... but at the same time not different at all. If that makes any sense.

Koalas are really, really dumb and slow. They let me hold one at a wildlife sanctuary. Well, they charged me $20 for the privilege. They just plunked it into my cupped hands. They're very dense, like a furry bowling ball. They're about the same softness as a rabbit. (It's illegal to keep rabbits here! There's a huge fence to keep them out of our state, because they kill local wildlife.)

Where I am it can get to 110F in January, which is the hotter part of the year. It's around 80-90 now, in spring. It never gets below about 40, even in winter. It's not so much that it gets really hot, but that it doesn't really cool down. It stays hot even at night, and it's hot again the next day.

As someone who despises cold weather, I envy you right now, hahah.  I live in Houston, so it doesn't really get very cold here anyway... but still, cold without snow just doesn't seem to be worth the cold to me.

Australia sounds so exciting- do they have squirrels there?  (they're like our only wildlife ;A;) How common are koala bears and kangaroos?  Are you adapting to the local accent any? /random questions :3 But anyway, I'm glad you're back on Evelon!  Feel free to message me if you wanna start up a RP anytime. <3

110 F sounds like satan's armpit; that is way too hot for me O:< And aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Furry bowling ball! That made me laugh ahbdfjgh.

How does the rabbit thing work? Like... Australia is home to a lot of scary critters, but rabbits are a danger? I'm so intrigued now

I actually like cold weather! I miss the snow, now that it's all starting back home.

No squirrels! Funny story, when my Australian partner visited the states, he was really excited to see squirrels! I live in the city, so no big wild life here. Just birds (mostly crows), and some possums (which are cute fuzzy cat like creatures), and lots of lizards and geckos. No raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, or rabbits. If you leave the city, kangaroos become pests. They're annoying and a problem for cars, not unlike deer.

No accent yet! I'm still rocking the midwest accent, which Australians almost always mistake for Canadian, hah.

Yea it gets stupid hot. We all just stay inside until the sun goes down and it cools off a little. There are lots of pools and AC units! (No heaters though.)

Yea, the rabbits eat the local grasses and flowers, and it makes all of the other local animals that would eat those starve. Because rabbits are so adaptable and breed so fast, they're a real threat to the other fuzzy stuff I mentioned above.

Oh, neat~ The wildlife sounds very interesting and exotic to me, hahah.  Is it common for people to own cats and dogs?  Sorry for all the questions, hahah, it just seems so very cool! :3
