Hi!

I am new to this site and currently getting into everything (the discord, reading the rules, my profile, etc). I'm not into the pets part of pet sites as much as the forum aspect, and this site seems to cater to both types of people. I was recommended this website for roleplaying, so I am giving it a shot.

It has been a couple years since I roleplay'd, but I have been interested in trying again for a while now. I've been writing stories on my own and remembered how much fun it was to experience it with someone else. For now, it has just been short stories so having a longer plot will be a fun challenge. I logged into my old childhood site for writing called Rescreatu and there wasn't much happening in the forums, so here I am... Some things are a bit confusing, like if the forums have a place for only human roleplays (since I'm not really into pets/animal rps) and if there is a place to sort of do your own unrelated Evelon topic, but the different locations had some cool descriptions so it might just require some open mindedness and getting used to the site.

SO yeah. I am totally open to trying it out and becoming part of the community, once I get the hang of how things work on here. If you are ever looking for a new RP partner, I'm your gal.

Hi Christina! I’m Jaden and welcome to Evelon!

There are no standard rules for what characters you role play where. If you want to do only human characters, that’s fine wherever you want. (Plenty of us do this.) You are also not strictly limited to the setting of the rp area. Some people do space settings, for example, and many role plays aren’t set in Evelon at all. You can just pick wherever you’d like it to be. Hopefully that answers your question?

Hi! Thank you for clarifying! Once I posted this and started to read more of the forums, I understood better. Is there any specific forum to say you're searching for a rp partner/private rp or is that not encouraged in the boards? I don't want to be spammy if this site works differently.

Hope you're enjoying the site so far!

Like people have said there's no particular place for pet/animal RPs. As Evelon and its average member's age have gotten older, a lot of us have moved away from animal RPs (or from writing mostly those, I guess).

A portion of us use pets as a kind of symbol for the character, basing a human of their appearance/general vibe, or else the pet can turn into a human of some description. I do a bit of both, depending on what "universe" I've decided I'm writing in: a version of Evelon or something closer to the real world. We've had a section for other RPs for a long time, but most people honestly use the Evelon forums now, and the areas' descriptions are fairly flexible, so honestly feel free to write what you want! (I mean, within the limits of the site rules, ofc.)

Regardless of whether you decide to pick up some pets or not, might I suggest writing down some character bios in a Zoo Pen? They're used for keeping track of adoptables generally, but also characters/personalities?

OH. That makes sense. I was reading the replies to rps to figure out if it was animal rps and I noticed no animalistic description and I was so curious/confused! That's helpful info in itself. Thank you! I will definitely check out the Zoo Pen thread and see what that is.
