As the rest of the students who had selected art for a class filed in, several of which gave him either a sideways glance or a sneer openly at him, pretty much all of them had sat at other tables. It didn't seem to bother Ialu much as he set up the pencils he wanted and flipped his sketch book to a clean page. His last school he'd been avoided because they all thought he was crazy, in this school he was just a second class citizen. One more class after this and he would meet up with Keit for their self study period, he could survive that much longer he hoped.
Ms. Amedë clapped her hands and pointed as the final bodies straggled in, looking to be second year students if he was reading it right. That was when a body sat down beside him, nearly startling Ialu out of his chair.
At first he'd hope it was one of the friends Keit had introduced him to the night before, but one nervous glance told him he hadn't met her before. "Uh, well...hi. I, uh, well, you a, are going to sit here?" Smooth was clearly not on one of Ialu's skills as he tripped over his words, even forgot what he'd meant to say. If she didn't think he was stupid, she would probably soon reason he was just a plain human and jump to move.
Just as Ialu remembered what he'd wanted to say to the girl beside him, their fae teacher gave another clap of her hands drawing the attention of the class to her. "Good morning, class. I am Ms. Amedë. Now many of your faces I don't recognize, I assume that means you are either first years or completely new to art." It was strange to Ialu how she moved across the front of the room by her desk, fluid motion that made him wonder if she wasn't a ghost of some kind. "What I would like to do, is have you do a free draw that will give me an idea of where you all are as artists." She gave a sweet enough smile, that he could only assume hid some kind to sharp teeth behind it. "You may get to know your neighbors, and help one another." With that she gave them a dismissive wave, telling them to go about their work, before settling herself like a hawk behind her desk.
Bottles smashed, I raised my hand
How can you all even stand?
And why is there joy in this poison? Oh
Faking smiles and confidence
Driving miles to capture this excitement
I can't take anymore
You're never gonna get it
I'm a hazard to myself
I'll break it to you easy
This is hell, this is hell
You're looking and whispering
You think I'm someone else
This is hell, yes
I am in hell
