Sitting in one of the larger rooms of the Nu'san Temple was a Tainted Nemuwit.  Her eyes were closed tight as if she was meditating.  She could hear the sound of Matches chirping outside and could even hear the hum of the monks going through their own meditation below.  It was peaceful.  Serene.

She hated it.

Throwing up her hands in frustration, she fell spread eagle on her back.  This place was boring!  How could anyone like it?  She pawed one of her hoop earrings.  'How could I let that floppy eared rodent trick me into coming here?' she thought.

Flashback:
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T ADVANCE ANY FURTHER?" she had screamed.

Standing in her line of fire, Salvador the Hollow Meji tried to calm his apprentice.  "Adena, I'm not saying you can't advance.  I'm just saying you won't live long enough to master the advanced spells.  Not with that temper."

Adena pouted angrily.  "So your sending me off to some boring, old rock in the middle of nowhere?"

Sal scratched the back of his head.  "Yep, I suppose so.  But think of it this way, if you go you'll be able to advance."
End Flashback

"Oh, yeah.  That's how."

Adena sighed miserably.  The trick had been so obvious.  All Sal had to do was mention that she could advance if she went through with this.  The Meji knew her well.

She rolled to her side.  She knew she shouldn't complain about Sal.  After all he had saved her from her previous mentor.  And if it weren't for him, she would never have met her best friend Mau.  Adena smiled as she thought of endlessly cheerful Sun Leawolf.  'I wonder where she is now?' she thought.

With a groan, Adena sat up and reverted to her child form.  "I have to get out of here.  Advancement or not, I can't take another day here."  Picking herself up, she peeked out of her room.

"None of those monks in sight," she thought.

A soft padding sound could be heard echoing of the temple walls as Kuay continued forward.  She had come here to make an attempt to release her worries by meditation.  After going back home after a while, her friends had suffocated her with questions.  She needed to get away from them...again.  That's why she had left before!  It seemed she was always needed to leave her pen just to relax.  'I think Sky should stop recruiting so many others to the pen'  She took in a deep breath and let it out in a heavy sigh.

Walking down the hallway even further, she saw room entrances.  Passing them, she saw monks sitting and chanting softly and other creatures and humans doing somewhat the same.  It seemed everyone had the same idea as she had.  Then, something caught her eye.  A tiny head was poking out of one of the rooms ahead.  It seemed to be a mere child.  She advanced, letting her curiosity take over for now.

A bleached Tali walked along a corridor, lulling in the soft silence of the temple. Then she heard a small voice, like a child's. She opened her eyes and looked around. She saw a small child sticking her head out of a door. She also saw a sky slynx walking towards her. Debating wheather or not to go to the child as well, she back at a form on her back. The figure gazed at her and nodded. "We should." it said in a small chime voice. The Tali nodded and walked up to the girl. "Hello. My name is Snowpuff, but you can call me Puff. This is Mita, my companion." she said.

Kuay jerked slightly at the sound of others' voices.  'Those aren't monks' voices...'  She looked around and spotted a Tali along with a small creature on its back heading in the same direction as her.  She listened silently as they announced their names.  She wasn't sure if they were talking at her or the child.  'Might as well introduce myself as well.'

"Uh - hi.  I'm Kuay just for the record."  She bowed her head.

Adena nearly jumped out of her skin, when five pets suddenly popped out of nowhere.  She fought off the urge to run when she realized that they were only intoducing themselves.  She put a finger to her lips and pointed at the monks.  "Please be quiet," she hissed.  "I don't want them to know I'm here."

Kuay jerked back her head at the 'shhh' and flicked her ears.  By the look on the child's face, they had apparently startled her.  

"Oh my bad."  She whispered, glancing at the monks.  They hadn't moved from before so Kuay judged they hadn't noticed. "Why don't you want them to know of your presence, may I ask?" She was careful to keep her voice at a low tone.

"Well duh!" hissed Adena.  "I'm trying to get out of here!"  She frowned at herself.  Maybe telling these pets her plan wasn't the best idea.

Mita and Puff listened to the conversation, staying silent. Then they heard the child say she was trying to get out of here, and Puff raised a paw to her mouth to stiffle her giggles. Mita climbed onto her head and looked down at the tali. Then she pressed her paw on Puff's head, a signal for the tali to stop.

Kuay heard giggling behind her, but she didn't find it too funny.  Her fur bristled slightly at the child's attitude.  Holding back a smart remark, she spoke. "Get out of here...surely this place isn't that unbearable."  

Something about this kid struck Kuay as sneaky.  Why would she come here just to want to leave?

Adena put her hands on her hips and snarled.  She heard laughing too, but she didn't find anything funny.  She hated being laughed at.  "It's boring and the lessons I'm supposed to learn are impossible! I don't even wanna be here in fact!"  SHe threw her arms up in emphasis.

Kuay flattened her ears from the sudden rising noise level.  "Shhh!  Keep your voice down..."  She glanced at the monks who were now looking at them.  Well, a few were, while others went on with their own affairs.  She was sounding somewhat like the little squirt.

"What lessons could you learn here?"  She asked.  "And if you don't want to be here then why come in the first place?"  Her tail twitched slightly from her growing temper.  'Breath...and calm down' she coached herself.  She came here to release stress not obtain more.

Adena crossed her arms and began to sulk.  "My teacher sent me here," she mumbled.  "He says that I need to learn to control my temper."
