Hazel wiggled herself out of the head-hold. Phew! That was a close one! Any tighter and that little Kuni would have nipped her for sure. But it was a standoff, now! She whipped her tail. Maybe a tail blow would catch him!

Aww...she'd shook him off, but at least he wasn't hurt. So he bared his teeth and prepared to bite down on that tail now swinging at him. That should give her something to think about!

She'd come here with her sister's best friend. Truthfully, she didn't know what to think about her battle chances. She was a researcher, not a fighter! But then her sister told her: The battle was for research. Ah, now there was a different story! Ciara was always willing to lend a hand in the name of science! So here she was.

Her opponent was a Kuni, huh? He looked pretty confident. He seemed like he'd already won a few. But Ciara had confidence in her eagle eyes. Well, eagle eyes as long as they were behind her glasses, but that wasn't the important part. She knew she could do it!

The Kuni glanced at the last one. She seemed rather weak, compared to the others. So she couldn't be too much trouble, could she? However, he hung back, waiting for her to make the first move. He might have to avoid ice-breath...if she had it.

He stumbled back, and heard a door opening. Slowly, he backed up and out. Would he be punished for losing this last fight? Well, it was all for sceicne...

"Good match, guy!" Ciara tipped her head. Her glasses slid down her nose. "I'd loik to see yuz again sometime! Yuh seem like a fine guy tuh me! Hope yuh feel bettuh soon--sure didn' mean tuh gitcha too hard!"
